I would have to be careful. I continued collecting shock arrows until I reached the top, looking around for the centaur-like beast. When I didn't see it, I began to get worried. Where was it? I heard groaning coming from one of the trees, and I hurried to look at it. It wasn't a Lynel as I thought it was, but a teen, about my age, with…dirty blond hair and cerulean eyes? Was he the same person I saw at the stable?
He was badly injured, and I took a healing elixir out of my bag. He was barely conscious when I got to him, so I picked him up, poured the elixir down his throat and pulled out my paraglider, held tight to the boy, and jumped off the side of Shatterback Mountain. I landed somewhere that had a bed and a chest next to it. I wanted to climb in that bed and sleep for hours, as I direly needed to rest, but I couldn't stay as I had to get this boy help.
I could see the silver fish on top of the Zora palace, so I took off, and when I came to a stop, I was on the entryway to the palace. I took off running down the outdoor corridor. I ran past the guards screaming, "HELP! DOCTOR!" someone came and took the boy from my arms, and led me to the inn, where I was given an extra soft bed, free of charge. I slept for three days straight, waking up on the fourth morning. I went to the makeshift hospital. There I got news. I was being treated as a hero because I had saved the last champion's life! Not a big deal? Wrong. The champions were the ones, back a century ago, who could control their Divine Beasts. Once they died, the Beasts went rogue. If the champion survives, there is a possibility that Hyrule could see peace once more.
The champion boy had awakened from a shrine of healing, called the Shrine of Resurrection, then come to the Domain to appease Vah Ruta, the Divine Beast corrupted by Calamity. He was fighting the Lynel to retrieve shock arrows to get in and fight the calamity inside the Divine Beast. I was so deep in thought that I didn't notice that Link had opened his eyes and was looking at me sleepily. "What is your name?" he asked me. "I'm Monsoon. People are saying that I saved you, but may I ask, why were you stupid enough to charge at a Lynel?" I said. "You did save me. I was fighting one because I needed the arrows and the weapons. My name is Link. By the way, where are you from? I've been to Hateno and encountered a lot of Hylians, but I haven't seen you. You don't look like the average Hylian." He says. "I take offense to that, mister. I am from Lurelin Village, home to people who don't do much. I left to see the world." I said, only half serious. "Oh. Okay." He says. "You look like someone who could survive in the world. If you can fight, would you like to accompany me on my adventures?" He said hesitantly.
"Yess!" I said, eager to be of some use. "I look forward to it…" He said, eyes closing again. I went to Prince Sidon of the Zora people. "Sidon, I'm worried about Link. Could you assist me with getting into the Divine Beast?" I say. "Yes. I was planning to give him a healing and sleep potion that should heal him entirely but put him to sleep for around three days anyway." Says Sidon. "Should I do it now?" He asks. "Yea, that should be good, if you can grab the Slate after he falls asleep, then we'll be able to go." I say.
"Begin climbing Shatterback Mountain. I gift you with these." He hands me a Zora headpiece and a pair of Zora pants. I quickly changed into my chestplate, along with the other pieces of armor. I didn't mind Sidon's fancy way of talking, of course, he had been raised royal. Sidon went to give Link the potion and grab the Slate. I got to East Reservoir Lake and quickly swam to the platform where Sidon was standing. He handed me the Slate to put on my belt and said, "Monsoon, climb on my back. I will swim you to the entrance. Beware though. There will be obstacles. Keep your bow and arrows at the ready," he plunged into the water and I followed. I climbed up, and he took off, swimming at top speed. Blocks of ice followed me, some with spikes, and I quickly shot them down. I had to swim up miniature waterfalls and shoot the reactors with shock arrows. When the reactors blew, we swam to the edge of the platform with the Slate.
Sidon dropped me off and wished me luck. Since I already knew how to work the Slate, so I scanned it against the recognition terminal and bade goodbye to Sidon. I walked in, and the walls were covered in malice. I shot it down and got the map terminal. The first terminal was easy. It was only a lever that I had to crank using the magnesis option on the slate.
The second one was harder. The Slate had the ability to move Ruta's trunk higher or lower. I had to move it so that water would pour on a waterwheel and open the door to the terminal. The third one was more or less simple as well. I had to position the trunk so I could climb it, getting a terminal at the very base of it.
The fourth one, I had to do the thing with the lever again, although it was a different one. This one would open part of the roof and I then had to position the trunk to pour water through the open air, extinguishing the ring of fire that was surrounding the terminal. The fifth one was the last I would be able to do, and it was another, smaller water wheel that had a free flow of water making it spin. When the water was not covering the terminal, but was easily accessible, I had to use a trick called Cryonis. Another good use of the Slate, it would put out an ice block anywhere that there was water. I achieved the final terminal.
I couldn't do the boss fight, as that was only for a Champion to do. In any way, I did make it out on the dawn of the second day. I teleported back to the shrine in the middle of the Domain and took the slate back to Link's bedside, erasing all evidence that I had been there except for the fact that Vah Ruta was now marked there. I went back to Sidon and he showed me to a room with a domed ceiling and a mini waterfall and pool and a bed and bathroom and table near it.
This was a room he had made for me while I was away. He gave me a cake of soap and left me alone. I showered and changed into a soft blue tunic that had been left for me on a wicker chair and went to sleep. The next morning, I heard whispers that Link had remembered Lady Mipha and went to go fight Ruta. I was glad that I had left him my best weapon.
I changed back to the Zora gear and went to explore. There were several shallow pools, and in them were some sneaky river snails. On a side note, why do they call them 'Sneaky River Snails' if their shells glow in the dark? I looked on the map that I had and decided to see if the legends of a hidden library somewhere in Upland Zorana were true. The legends say that there is a hidden library in Zora territory that will bestow great knowledge upon the reader, but it would only reveal itself to those worthy of it. I talked to Sidon and he wished me luck. I went about hiking through the hills of Zora's Domain. The third night I was gone, I found it. I also noticed that the rain had mostly stopped. When I found the library, it was in mediocre condition. I repaired the books that I could and cleaned up the interior a bit. Looking through the books, I found one on the Sheikah ability to teleport, the onetime elixir that they drank, the ingredients needed, everything I needed to learn.
I needed two Silent Princess Flowers, a Lynel hoof, Silent Shrooms, a fairy, a Korok seed, and a chip of a Sheikah rune. Alright, so the Silent Princesses I already had, the Lynel hoof…Time to fight a Lynel! The Silent Shrooms grew all around Ploymus Mountain, I know where to find the fairy, already have a Korok seed, and I just need to get a shrine and chip off a bit of the runes on the wall.
I went to go gather everything I needed, and two days later, I was ready. The elixir glimmered a soft blue, and smelled surprisingly good, for an elixir. Closing my eyes, and calming my shaking hands, I drank it all in one go and opened my eyes, picturing a location across the library where I had been sleeping for two days. I felt kind of a squeezing feeling, and kind of a pulsing feeling around my heart, but it wasn't unpleasant. When the feelings stopped, I realized I had closed my eyes, and I opened them. I had done it! I had teleported! Now I won't be such a burden to Link on his journey.
I left the library sadly, because I knew that I would probably never find it again and teleported back to Zora's Domain. When I got there, I knew immediately that Ruta had been appeased, but I couldn't find Link anywhere.
I did find him later though, at the ledge of the dock where I had first touched down on when rescuing him. He was looking down over the Domain, and he turned when he heard me approaching. "P-please go away." He says, turning to face me. I realize with a shock that his eyes are tight with unshed tears. "Link, what's wrong?" I ask, concerned. "Nothing." He said. I pressured him a little and finally "Fine. I'll tell you it you'll leave me alone." He said, his face changing from brave, to sad, and finally the unshed tears in his eyes dripped down his face. "Mipha's spirit appeared to me after I killed the Blight Ganon. She gave me her power, a healing power, and finally confessed how much she loved me. I wish – I wish she were still alive." He choked out. I watch in pain as two more tears escape his eyes and trickle down his face.
I get – I don't know, some sort of intuition. "Try to sleep, and in the morning, maybe you'll feel better." I say. He obeys, heading over to the bed, and as soon as he has curled up, he is fast asleep. He'll most likely be out for a day or two, so I prayed to the Goddess Hylia with an offering of a gold rupee. I asked for Mipha's silver crescent moon circlet to give to Link, and by the time I got back from hunting in the surrounding waters, the rupee was gone, and in its place was a silver circlet about the size of my face. I lay it down next to me and get to work, making some food.
I make grilled fish and an omelet and keep it near the fire so it will still be warm when Link wakes up. For myself, I made a fish skewer, and shove the entire thing in my mouth at once. Just in time, too. I hear Link waking up. He stumbles around to the side of the fire, and I hand him his plate and tell him to eat. After he has finished eating, I tell him that I have something for him. I hand him the circlet and tell him it was Mipha's. He looked at it for a second, and then picked it up. Turning it reverently in his hands, he finds the mark of Mipha on the inside, confirming that it was hers. He sets it down gently and throws his arms around me.
I return the hug, and once he breaks away, he stands up and begins to pull on his boots. I tell him to go back to the Domain and get some rest. I don't follow him, instead going to find luminous stones to trade. I find twenty six stones and I trade them to Ledo for three diamonds. He wants ten luminous stones for one diamond, except for the first one, which he gave me two diamonds for, and I have six luminous stones left and nothing to do with them,so I think for a while and out of nowhere, I get a great idea.
I use them to make Link his own sword. I know he will have the Master Sword for his own in due time, but I wanted to make him one that would never break and never lose charge. I engrave his name in the hilt along with the sign of Triforce. Power, courage, and wisdom. That is what each of the triangles in the Triforce stand for. That night, I take it to Kilton to make it lightweight and unbreakable. I take it back to my room and wrap it in soft fabric. I decide to make a new set of clothes and some gifts for Link, as this is very hard for him, and rightfully so. It would be hard for anyone. I don't think he has any other close friends to help him, either.
It is 11:00 at night, and Link was knocked out with a weeklong sleeping potion, so I had plenty of time, as this was only my first night. I went out and went luminous stone hunting. The first night I found around fifty, so with the fading stars, I worked on making the shield out of traded diamonds and the luminous stones. During the day, I made the bow, and hunted for food in my spare time. At around seven o'clock p.m., I began to make the tunic. The tunic itself would be a pale blue, with tiny fragments of luminous stones and opals studding the entire thing. I was going to make him a pair of trousers as well and make the boots out of dragon scales. I had purchased the scales from Kilton the previous night.
At 8, I decided to sleep for a couple of hours so that I could be rested, and still make it to Kilton's in time. I awoke at 11, and gathered my things, and went to Kilton. I purchased another lightweight armor bag and made the shield and the bows unbreakable. The next day, I finished the tunic set and wrapped it up. I cooked a meal of bass and then fell asleep for a day.
Link would wake up in four days, so I had to hurry if I wanted to get any more luminous stones. Over the next two days, I busted my butt doing nothing but finding luminous stones, even during the day. I found over 300 luminous stones, so I traded them all in for diamonds. I found a buyer in the Domain who would buy diamonds for 1000 rupees apiece, and I sold all of the diamonds, which amounted to 30,000 rupees.
I put all but 5,000 rupees, which were to be mine, of them in a pouch that I had made with the tunic set for Link. I used the money to stock up on arrows and some food supplies such as butter, milk, swift violet for elixirs, trout, bass, and rock salt. The butter and the milk were a luxury, so I saved them. The salt was great too, though not like the butter and the milk.
I then had 4,500 rupees from the diamonds left. I went down into the underlayer of the palace, where there were various chests and treasure. I found an iron sledgehammer which I stored in my weapon bag. I also found a Zora spear and another golden claymore. I slept until the next morning, when Link would wake up. I made a plate of Seafood Paella and a meaty omelet. Not for me, I had a roasted bass. The more comforting food was for Link. I headed to his room and gave him a strengthening elixir.
"Link? Would you come to my room for a second after you are done eating?" I asked hesitantly. He said yes, so I went to my room and wrapped the sword and shield and bow in pieces of soft fabric that I had made myself. I showered quickly and got dressed in my own tunic, one I had barely worn since leaving Necluda. I was sitting on my bed when I heard a knock on the door. Link came in and I instructed him to sit on the bed. I handed him the tunic and trousers and boots and the pouch filled with so many rupees. His face lit up when he saw them. He went to try on the tunic set and they fit perfectly, much to my relief. "Where did you get this?" he asked incredulous. "Well – I made it. It is armor and it allows you to swim without losing staminaand it has anti-ice abilities." I said. He threw his arms around me. "It's perfect. Thank you so much Monsoon." "Actually – that isn't all."
I handed him the weapon set. "This is lightweight and unbreakable. Here is the armor bag. It is also lightweight. It apparently has unlimited space, because I have one, and it has about 20 weapons inside of it. Open the pouch now!" he did. "Monsoon? I – How much is this?!?!?" he cried. "don't freak out, maybe 25,000 rupees..." credit to him, he didn't go crazy. "Oh, and one other thing – " I teleported, landing behind Link. "I learned how to teleport like the Sheikah tribe. This way, you can teleport with the Slate and you won't have to worry about me." I say.
"Monsoon, thank you. Are you about ready to go? We are headed for Rito next. All the way across the continent." "Yea, I am ready, just let me pack up the last of my stuff and put on my armor." I finished the last of my stuff and threw a couple of healing elixirs in my pack. I grabbed my collection of rupees which amounted up to 9,000 and put on my armor. I teleported right behind Link.
"Hey Link, quick question. How long do you want to travel?" I asked. He turned around with a yelp but quickly recovered. "I mean, the faster we get to Rito I can defeat Vah Medoh. So not long. Hopefully we can get there in three days." He said. "Ha, no. Hand me the Slate." He did, and I teleported to Rito.
