Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick.
It felt like midnight had descended.
A soft groan of tiredness broke the silence, followed by other strained voices.
"What…where…where am I?" she murmured as her head throbbed with intense pain.
Oddly, she was not alone. She squinted, hoping her blurry vision would soon clear. Slowly, she realized she was on a large, opulent bed, one that seemed designed for three, draped in luxurious coverings that screamed 'expensive.'
She shook her head, trying to make sense of this fantasy, but the movement only intensified her headache. Sighing in frustration, she propped herself up on her arm, feeling a strangely comforting, fluffy sensation. Determined to stay calm, she began to clear her mind, focusing on the surroundings. Her gaze dropped to her fingers, and she became captivated by the meticulously arranged pillows at the head of the bed.
