"Theodore!"
She called as she walked with him down a path through some bushes that obstructed the way at points.
"I want to give you this."
He looked up at her, watching as she removed two pendants from her neck. The first was a red rose pendant that hung gracefully at the neck of her dress, flaunting its beauty and value. The second was a golden Luxor pendant, hidden beneath the neck of her clothing.
"Mom, I can't…"
Theodore hesitated. He knew how important the rose necklace was to his mom. But the Luxor pendant—it looked more valuable than anything he had ever seen.
"Theodore, listen to me."
"But, Mom, I already have one," he said, raising his lion tooth as proof. "I don't need another two."
She smiled, brushing her fingers over his head.
"You don't need them now… but you will in the future."
She said as she placed them around his neck. The boy could only look at them in wonder.
