When Clayton heard the narrator say.
".....Aerith is dead." He thought that his ears heard wrong. Aerith can't be dead. Not this pure, kind-hearted girl. She always had a smile on her face no matter the situation. He just couldn't believe it. Maybe the narrator for the scene all wrong, it's someone else. It just can't be Aerith. Clayton was taken this really hard. But the narrator didn't tell what happened after she died.
"Clayton, I hope the last part I'm told is going to be sad, but you have to know this to understand why Aerith did what she did. So after Sephiroth killed Aerith, she had been guarding an item that Cloud will need later on his journey. This item is called White Material. This material will help destroy a certain creature in the game. That's all I can tell you about that particular part, but in the Cloud had the hardest part. He had to bury her. But he buried in the place where she would be most safe. Underneath where she was killed is a beautiful lake of crystal blue waters. He carried her down there and laid her in the waters and let her go. He stayed until she was gone. So you have to understand not only are you hurting but everybody else is hurting too. So what do you want to do? Now if you want to skip I can give you three choices?"
Clayton could barely hear the narrator, nevertheless, listen to what he was saying. He so far in his thoughts that the narrator thought he might have lost his mind. He tried getting his attention, but that didn't work. So the narrator just waited until Clayton came to. Clayton thought and thought. He just wasn't sure he could gather the strength to continue. He had gotten close to Aerith even though he was Cloud, but still, he felt a bond. And now that bond is broken because Sephiroth killed. Sephiroth! Him again. Clayton was tired of this fool and needed to be exterminated. So he finally got the strength cause he was out for blood. And that was Sephiroth's blood. He decided he was to skip. He needed to avenge Aerith's death. He had a purpose. And he was going to fight with that purpose. The narrator noticed that Clayton was coming to. And he asked how he was doing.
"Clayton, everything ok? So have you decided?" Clayton forgot that the narrator was talking to him while he was feeling sorry for himself over Aerith's death.
"I have decided. I'm going kill that bastard." Clayton boasted. The narrator was shocked by Clayton's reaction, but he had to warn him about something. And the narrator doesn't think he going to like it.
"Clayton, I know you're mad. And you want to kill Sephiroth. But Aerith wouldn't want you to do that. She made her choice and she was confident about it. It was her only choice. I know you don't agree, but that just the way it. You going to have to learn to accept it. It's the only way you're going to pull through this quest that you're on. Not only are you learning something, but your learning how to give back to. I hope you understand that." The narrator didn't know if Clayton understood what he meant by all that, but he hopes that he will come around soon. It finally hit Clayton that Aerith was sacrificing her life not just for the team, but to save the world. Even though he wanted to get back at what Sephiroth didn't. He treasured his time with Aerith much more. So he asked the narrator to repeat the question.
"So I see you ready and you have finally come to understand Aerith's purpose. Cloud purpose is just like yours, but I want to be prepared for what's about to come next. You and Cloud are about to experience something that will change you and make you look at things in a different light so to speak. Let get back to our quest, shall we? So you have the choice of going to the next scene or going to The Great Glacier, or The Crater. So which one?" Clayton had to carefully analyze his choices. So he needs to know a little snip bit about each place. But if he did that it wouldn't so fun. So he just decided to go to the next scene. It shouldn't be so bad. He least hope no one else who be killed except for the one who does need to die. Which is Sephiroth.
"Narrator, hey don't you have another name besides the narrator?" The narrator had never been asked by any other player who went on this quest, what his real name was. He was speechless. Clayton wanted to know his name.
"I don't just see you as the person who helps me. As see you as my friend." The narrator never had a friend before. He wasn't sure what to do at the time. He was sort of nervous and scared. Because he wasn't sure how long this would last and if Clayton would even reach the end. But he took this chance and went with it.
"Clayton, I can't remember what my name was before this. You see when your suck in the game day in and day out. You forget the little things. Who you were and family. But if you want to choose one for me I would be honor." Clayton now had the privilege to give the narrator a name. But it had to be some fit for a narrator. So he sat down on the ground and put on his thinking face. It basically when the statue looks like. You know the only one sitting on a stool with his fist on his chin and his elbow on his thigh. It probably the thinking stand or something like that but anyway. So after much thinking, Clayton finally came up with a name, And to him was good, but let hope the narrator thought it was good. So Clayton took a deep breath in and got ready to announce the new narrator's name.
"So imagine there's is a drum sound. (clearly his throat) Drum roll please! (drum roll in the background) LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! ANNOUNCING OUR NEW HOST WITH THE MOST. I WELCOME BACK, HENRY ALVAREZ! (clapping in the background) The narrator was so happy. He would finally be called by his name instead of being the narrator.
"So what ya think, Henry?" Henry felt different. Then all of sudden the light in the middle of the room went out. There was total silence until Clayton said something. "Henry? Henry? Are you ok, buddy? Say something!" Then Clayton heard footsteps and he knew they weren't his. What the hell just happen Clayton was thinking to himself? Did they bring someone in here to care him out? He was starting to freak until he heard a voice calling his name. And the voice sounded very familiar.
"Clayton. It's me. It's Henry."
