Alec
When Tracy left the pub it took every bit of self-control not to go after her. Right now, Jax, my tiger wanted out and normally I would have just let him but I know Tracy would not appreciate a 5 foot black tiger running around, not after everything she just heard.
I needed to have a talk with Jax later, he doesn't understand all of this. I stared at Emily, I was furious with her. I didn't know how I wanted to tell Tracy everything yet but I knew that this was not what I had in mind.
"If it wasn't for Quinn being your mate, I would've killed you right here," I said through gritted teeth. Emily rolled her eyes and I swear I just wanted to kill her like I killed her good for nothing aunt, but I knew I had to stay in control because Quinn and Tracy would never forgive me if I snapped her pretty little neck.
"Stop being so dramatic, Alec. If there is one thing I know, it's that Tracy was already starting to wonder what the fuck was going on when she saw my eyes glow and Tracy does not appreciate being lied to or being fooled, so it was for the best. Besides, the quicker she leans the truth and accepts it, the faster I can tell her, her truth and yours". What the fuck was she talking about? I wanted to ask but then Tracy came back in.
After Tracy and Emily left, I mind linked Quinn to bring Kathy and Kate so we could discuss sleeping arrangements for the Crescent pack. I had almost forgotten that they would be arriving tonight.
Quinn entered the pub followed by Kate and Kathy. When they sat down I gave them their orders to prepare every room we have open. Kathy and Kate are twins, they came here when they were just cubs at around the age of five. Their mother was shot by hunters so she traveled to our pack and asked my father to take care of her cubs. She died two days later and since then the twins were with us. They were like sisters to me. After they left, Quinn stayed behind to give me the report on our pack border.
"I picked up an unfamiliar scent at the border, it was not human," Quinn stated. I got up and mentioned for him to follow me, I wanted to smell the scent myself. As we came to the pack border, Jax took over. With a few snaps I was standing on all fours, I sat back observing as Jax sniffed around. He suddenly stopped and linked me.
"I smelled this scent before," he told me and he was right, I recall smelling the same scent before but I couldn't remember where.
"We smelled it on our mate," but this was not Tracy's scent I thought. I pushed Jax back as I came forward again, Quinn threw a pair of sweatpants to me and I quickly put it on.
"Quinn, Jax said that he smelled the same scent on Tracy, what did you do to her old clothes?" Quinn stared at me dumbfounded and then quickly snapped out of it.
"I threw it out, it's probably in the bins out back at the hospital."
When we arrived at the hospital we started going through the bins like mad men until we found the torn up dress that Tracy wore when she first came here. I smelled it and sure enough the scent lingered on the dress. I threw it at Quinn and he smelled it, his eyes met mine before he tucked the dress away.
I was just as confused. Why haven't we picked up on the smell when Tracy arrived? I needed to get to the bottom of this but I knew Tracy wouldn't tell me anything before she knew she could trust me. I felt a push in my head and opened my mind.
"The Crescent pack's here," Kathy said through the link. Shit! How could I forget.
On the way back to the pub Quinn and I tried to come up with the best tactics to ask Tracy to open up and tell us who she was running away from. I entered the pub and scanned the room, to my surprise there weren't that many wolves this year.
I walked up to Braydon, the new Alpha of the Crescent pack, he was not as young as the previous Alpha who I wanted to kill since he stepped into my territory last year. Braydon turned to me as I came up to him, he extended his hand and I shook it.
"Great to finally meet you, Alec. Thank you for hosting us," he said as I pulled my hand back.
"Same, Braydon, and it's a pleasure. I see you haven't brought many wolves this year," I said as I looked around.
"Yes, well I thought it better to only bring pack members who haven't been on the hunt before and a few elders to keep them in line," he smiled and I could tell I would get along with this Alpha.
"I apologize for not joining you tonight, I have urgent matters that needs my attention but I will definitely join you tomorrow," I said farewell and linked Quinn to get his ass to Emily's house.
It took me an hour to convince him to come with me tonight and when he didn't budge, I played the Alpha card. I knew he was pissed that I did that but I didn't care. I met him outside Emily's house and I could see he was nervous as hell and to be honest I didn't feel completely calm myself. We walked up to the door and I knocked. When Tracy opened the door, my thoughts left me completely. All I could do was stupidly smile at her as she looked at us.
