Chapter 11 - Chapter Nine

Tracy

After dinner, Emily and Quinn washed the dishes and it was surprising how well they got along tonight. Alec didn't seem so bad after all, and the pull I felt towards him was feeling stronger. Alec and I decided to sit outside while waiting for Emily and Quinn to finish the dishes. We offered to help but they declined our offer.

It was so peaceful here at night and the stars were really bright. I could hear the music coming from the pub but it wasn't disturbing. I couldn't help myself and kept stealing small glances at Alec, he was truly handsome.

"I can sense you looking at me."

My cheeks turned warm as he said that.

"Let's play twenty questions," Alec said

"All right, but I'll start," I said and he nodded in agreement.

"How old are you?"

"Thirty-one. What's your favourite colour?"

"Green. How long have you been Alpha and what's your pack's name?"

"That was two questions" he said and chuckled, I just shrugged. "I have been Alpha for seven years since my father died and my pack is called the Silver Moon pack."

Just then Emily and Quinn sat down beside us. Alec looked annoyed and it made me smile. I enjoyed tonight, more than I should have. Alec stood up and looked at me, then he held out his hand to help me up.

"It was great spending some time with you. I am going to take one hell of a chance here and ask you if you would please accompany me tomorrow night. The Crescent pack is here and I promised I would join the party tomorrow night," Alec asked nervously.

I found myself saying yes before I could even stop myself. Alec gave me a big smile then placed a kiss on my cheek before he left. When his lips touched my skin, butterflies irrupted in my stomach. It was only a small peck, but when he stood back, I could still feel the touch of his soft lips on my cheek. When I turned to Emily, I saw her waving to Quinn with a huge grin on her face. She looked happy and that made me smile again.

Emily and I didn't say much after Alec and Quinn left, we were too busy with our own thoughts. I said goodnight and went to my room. After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth I went to bed. I kept thinking about this mate thing, so I took my phone and searched the web. I found a few interesting articles, but my thoughts kept going to Alec. When I was around him, I forgot about Rian and all the pain he caused me.

I know I don't know Alec and we only met a few days ago but it feels like I have known him forever. All this sounds so bizarre in my head, I never knew that one person could make you feel so many emotions in such a short time, but seeing that this is actually real, and if everything Emily said about mates are true, then why not give it a go? And with that thought I fell asleep.

"Wakey wakey!" I heard Emily's voice. I opened my eyes to see Emily standing at the foot of my bed, in her hands were two cups of coffee. When she saw I was awake she handed me a cup and sat on the bed. She looked really happy this morning.

"C'mon Tracy, we have to go shopping for tonight and you have to look amazing. You are the new Luna now," she said and jumped up, almost spilling her coffee.

"What the hell is a Luna, Emily?" I had a feeling I was not going to like the answer.

"When you are mates with an Alpha, you become the Luna, which means you take care of the pack alongside Alec. That's all I'm saying, Alec can tell you the rest. Now c'mon!" she exclaimed and hurried out of my room.

There were a few cute little clothing shops in town that I soon learned was called The Valley. Well, The Valley wasn't a very big town but it was enough. I wanted to withdraw money but Emily reminded me that Rian could then trace it back here, so I was stuck on borrowing money from Em. I bought a few pairs of black jeans and some really nice tops and shoes. Now I needed to decide what to get for tonight. I didn't want to overdress, so I decided to go with a light pink top, a blue skinny jean and black stiletto boots. I paired it with a simple silver necklace and a silver bracelet.

I let my hair down and started with my make-up, I was not fond of too much make-up, so it was only mascara, eyeliner and I finished with a glossy light pink lip-gloss. The doorbell rang and I looked at the time. It was already six o'clock, so I grabbed my bag and hurried to the door. Before I opened the door I had to stop to take a deep breath, I was extremely nervous. Emily came out of her room and she looked beautiful. Her chocolate brown hair was up in a fancy style, her make-up perfect so her green eyes stood out. She was dressed in a black dress that ended just above her knees with black stilettos.

I opened the door and saw Alec. He was looking delicious with his black jeans and white T-shirt. I realized I was staring when he gave me a goofy grin.

"You look breathtaking," he said and held out his hand for me to take.

"You don't look too bad yourself." I took his hand and I felt that spark again, every time we touched the spark seemed to feel more intense. We were walking to the pub, Emily and Quinn following behind us.

I didn't know what to expect when I entered the pub, but as soon as we did everyone went quiet and all eyes were on me... again.
