Tracy
"That can't be, Emily, and you know that," I heard Alec say but my brain was still stuck on the 'I'm not human' part. I could hear Alec and Emily going on about something but I wasn't listening.
"Could you both just shut up. Now Emily, if I'm not human, what am I?"
"You are a Guardian," Emily said and I just stared at her. What the fuck is a Guardian?
"I know you want more answers, Tracy, and I will answer everything you ask me - later. Now Alec, I know my aunt Cursed you to have a human mate and I also know you have been searching all these years for someone or something to break the curse, but when you killed aunt Cynthia, the curse died with her, that's how it works."
Alec jumped up and walked towards Emily but Quinn jumped in front of her to protect her.
Why didn't Alec want a human mate? If he didn't want a human mate, why is he even bothering with me? Ok well, apparently I'm not human, but we didn't know that, he didn't know that when he met me.
I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard a loud growl. I looked up and Alex was in front of me, bent down so he could level with me, he wiped a tear from my cheek, I wasn't even aware that I was crying...why was I crying anyway? Because my mate didn't want me? Fuck, a few days ago I didn't even know about this mate business so why the hell does it hurt so much.
"Tracy…" Alec began to say but I cut him off.
"Not now, I want Emily to continue". He nodded and I looked at Emily.
"Quinn, when Becky died, I didn't come back because I didn't want you, I really did want to be with you. I didn't come back because I had a vision about Tracy and the vision stated that she needed me."
We all just stared at her, this was all so messed up. Why did she have a vision about me? Yes, my relationship was fucked up but it didn't need any witch. Emily kept so many secrets, shit she could have told me.
"Emily, why didn't you tell any of us these things? You let Alec think that he was still cursed for so many years, you made Quinn believe you didn't want him and me… if I knew I wasn't human I could have educated myself on this supernatural stuff," I ended out of breath.
Alec tried to touch my shoulder to calm me down but I stepped back, then looked at him. Looking into his eyes I almost forgot why I didn't want him touching me.
"And you, Alec, why are you even bothering with me, we didn't know I wasn't human, you didn't want a human mate, so why don't you just reject me?" That was a stupid thing to say, I know, but I was so mad. Last night I read up about mates wanting to know more and that's when I found out that you could reject your mate if you weren't satisfied but you can never get a second chance mate if you reject your mate. I looked at Alec again and he looked pained.
"I didn't want a human mate, Tracy, because humans don't belong in our world, they are fragile. I'm an Alpha, I need to take care of my pack and if shit hits the fan, I wouldn't be able to take care of my pack if I had to take care of a fragile human mate," he looked into my eyes then continued. "That's how I felt until I met you, I know I was wrong now." While I was listening to him I was still angry, but I could understand why he felt that way.
We all looked at Emily when she suddenly spoke up again. "Guys, we have bigger problems. I couldn't tell any of you because we are dealing with something we thought was almost extinct. Telling you would have messed up the future. Tracy, if I had told you, you and Alec never would have met. You met because the Moon Goddess has plans for you. I am not allowed to interfere with her plans." Ok so that made sense.
For the first time since everyone came here, Quinn spoke up. "What threat are we dealing with?" he asked slowly, letting that part of what Emily said sink in with all of us.
"Rian, we are dealing with Rian. Rian is a Lycan and he is coming for Tracy."
