Jongil left after the men exchanged phone numbers with a promise to contact each other.
Daechul sighed and decided that meeting up with Sunmi again would be a good idea before driving to Wons' house.
Only, the man was not successful at contacting the detective.
Her phone rang for a full minute, and then it went into voicemail. He decided to leave Sunmi a message, in hopes that she would contact him faster this way.
Daechul was frustrated, because he needed her services now more than ever.
"Hey, it's Daechul. Where are you? Something happened, and we need to see each other as soon as possible. Call me when you get this''.
The boy pinched the bridge of his nose. He was annoyed and a bit concerned. Sunmi always answered when he called her.
After deciding to worry about that later, he stood up and headed home. However, just as he sat down in his car, his phone rang. Thinking that it was Sunmi he immediately fished the device out of his jeans pocket and picked the call up.
"Hyun."
"Hi, Chul."
Surprisingly, it was Ilsung.
"Hi, did something happen?", the boy furrowed his dark eyebrows.
"Actually, yes. We may have found the culprit behind all of this'', Ilsung's voice was strange, so Daechul straight up asked for more details.
"He refuses to tell us his name. I don't even think he works for you. But he said some interesting and confusing bullshit".
"Elaborate".
"He told us that everything was done because of your father. Didn't he die in a car accident, Daechul?"
So, here's another thing. None of Daechul's co-workers in Seoul knew what actually happened to Sungwoon, or that he was the head of the Hyun mafia. Daechul figured telling all those things to his friends would only endanger them. But because of all that has happened, he had no choice but to tell them everything, before that unknown man did, possibly twisting the truth in his favour.
"Okay, let's do it like this. I cannot leave Busan right now, too much is going on. Leave Winston in charge of the company and come to Busan. Also, bring that man with you. You, Kangmin and Jinwoo need to know some things."
He imagined Ilsang was frowning in confusion, because he was silent for a moment.
"Okay," he said finally. "We will leave tomorrow morning".
"I will let someone know. They will contact you and will be in the airport to pick you all up."
"Okay, see you".
"You too".

The morning was gloomy. Big dark clouds covered the sun, and harsh wind danced around, shaking tree leaves and tall grass.
Daechul was sitting in his temporary room, going over everything that happened during his arrival at Busan, and staring through the window, where his siblings and Minsoo played tag. Near the gate, security patrolled the perimeter.
He planned to take that day as easy and slow as possible. The man craved some rest and peace. He needed to think of what to do next.
The breakfast was… interesting to say the least.
While the twins played around and behaved like usual, everyone else was on edge. Maya, Doyun, Hana and Siwon tried to ease the atmosphere while making small talk, but Daechul, Minsoo, Kimoon and Junghyun were sitting and stiffly pushing the food around in their plates, not really hungry. It was awkward and uncomfortable.
As soon as the elders cleared their plates, everyone else made up some excuses about not being hungry and left to their rooms. After a few hours, Minsoo shyly suggested Hyun's to play outside, and the four of them left the house. Daechul opted to stay inside and nap, but the unconscious abyss just was not coming, and he resulted in sulking around, doing basically nothing and also monitoring the lively four.
Minsoo was exceptional with kids. His playful nature and soft smiles instantly won him Go twins' trust and curiosity. Junghyun was a tad bit slower, he opted to just laugh and watch Minsoo's attempts to tire the girls out. They also made small talk that left Junghyun shyly smiling, although Daechul couldn't pinpoint what it was that made his brother behave that way.
The man also saw all four parents joining their kids, trying to get involved into their activities and seemingly at least temporarily forget their worries. Daechul knew his mom was a strong woman, and she constantly tried to give some of her strength to those who needed it the most. In this case it was Minsoo and Junghyun, old enough to understand what was happening, just not immune to the stress and fear that came with knowing the truth.
Maya also took it on her mission to see how many times she could make Minsoo blush. It was a pleasant look on his youthful face.
Daechul was grateful for Minsoo and his mother trying to make this situation at least a little bit easier for his siblings. It also gave him a few hours to laze around until he had to meet up with Ilsung, Jinwoo and Kangmin, who were currently on a plane headed to Busan.
He was curiously pondering on who the robber was, and how the theft was connected with his father's killer. Was it the same person or someone working for the ambushers. Daechul did not like the unknown. He was a man who tended to plan everything to the tiniest of details. This whole situation was far from that. But despite that, with the thirst for revenge and his loved ones' protection in mind, Daechul did not feel defeated. On the contrary, the man was ready to end the perpetrator, who killed his father. He just had to find out who they were.
And while his mind kept wandering in that dangerous territory, he remembered Sunmi. She did not manage to reach out to him yet and Daechul was worried the killer found and murdered her, but shook these thoughts out of his head. Sunmi was a strong, determined woman, and she surely made it out alive. Maybe those people were still scanning the perimeter looking for her, so she had to keep low. He did not know the situation, but his mindset kept Daechul collected.
She will contact him as soon as she can. He was sure.
