I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to keep my emotions from bubbling out and pouring through. I didn't want to be seen like this; a sad, pathetic waste left out on the road to be laughed at. I rubbed my nose, snot covering the tissue in my hands.
That guy is going to pay for that shit he tried to pull.
Kai had embarrassed me, humiliated me, and ruined my life for his own selfish reasons. No one saw it, but Kai had managed to rip my life into two, tearing my heart out of my chest. For all I care, he could've eaten it in my face. But, I knew it wasn't the end. I had vowed to myself that I would make him pay.
I wanted to see him down on his knees, pleading for me to stop.
I wanted Kai to feel the same fear I felt when he pulled me away from the eyes of other students, scaring me then laughing at my face, joking about it like it was all just fun and games. I opened my eyes and sniffed, my mind calm and peaceful.
"Hey, are you okay, DarkAngel?" a voice asked.
I looked up and saw Alycia standing there, looking worried and wanting to fix it. I plastered a fake smile on my face and said, "Yeah, I'm fine, Alycia. Why you ask?"
"Because you look really sad," Alycia said, sitting on the stone bench next to me. We were sitting in the central dome of the school. The one place where kids were able to go to and think about their problems. Alycia placed a slender hand on my shoulder, her eyes narrowed, sadness seeping into them. "What's wrong?"
"Um," I mumbled, squeezing my hands together, the tissue crushed between them. I closed my eyes and felt tears running down my cheeks. "K-Kai... He scared me. It was....awful."
I told her what happened, it had started out of a simple flirt-fight between Kai and I. But it escalated way too far and fast. When I got to the part about Kai cornering me, she gasped and covered her mouth as I continued my tale.
"...And that's when I came out here," I ended, wiping my face clean of tears. I looked at Alycia and sighed.
"Wow," Alycia mumbled, scratching the back of her head. She looked over at me and smiled, "what are you going to do now, DarkAngel?"
"I've sworn to get revenge on that douchebag," I cursed, glaring at the nearest tree I could, wishing Kai was standing there instead. "I am going to make him pay for this action. I want him to feel the same fear I did." I rested my hand on my chest, the feeling of fear lingering in my heart.
"I've never felt so scared before, no even a haunted house could scare me this bad."
We sat in silence and then Alycia and I looked at looked at each other.
I started to chuckle; Alycia did too. And soon, we were full out screaming our laughter at the sky, holding our sides as we heaved and gasped for air.
"W-Why are w-we laughing?!" I asked, trying to stop smiling. I sighed and looked at Alycia, she was trying to fix her hair and wipe the tears from her eyes.
"I don't know," She said, tying the rubber band around the bun. Alycia stood up and smiled down at me and I did the same. Though she was taller than me, it didn't change the fact that I cared for her as my best friend. She opened her arms, "Give me a hug, psycho."
"Shut up, you big dummy," I groaned, walking over and accepting the hug.
"Now," Alycia said, pulling away and wrapping her one arm over my shoulder and pulling me to the entrance. "how are we going to punish Kai without getting caught?"
