"He will forever be a bastard, isn't that what they are called from a woman not even married."
Rosaline simply wasn't going to do his bidding just because he was her sperm doner.
Miss Lucia stood like an enraged cat only to be held off my the young man, Lord Henry was left totally speechless.
"Rosaline?!"
*************
A gentle voice like the fresh breath of spring resounded through them tinkling their ears with its soothing melody. It was neither loud nor too low but enough to draw the necessary attention. The same voice that sang lullabies , that told of the world outside, that was its strength and found strength in hers.
Dear sweet Viviana Constance.
"Please listen to your father."
Every individual attention was focused on them in batted breath awaiting the result. Miss Lucia had a look of self satisfaction as though she had already been declared the victor while Rosaline stared at her mother.
Her dewy brown eyes were casted down blocked by her full lashes, she emitted the aura of a broken soul like a beautiful flower in midst bloom. Lost to the sea of helplessness, a beauty beyond measures, now an ornament to the ungrateful.
Rosaline clasped her mother's soft hands tightly while viewing her side profile, she hated seeing the broken look in her identical. brown eyes.
At that moment Rosaline vowed to be independent, to not sacrifice, to give up on love for it only brought sadness.
"Over my dead body, mother."
Then the chaos truly started.
~~~~~~~
"So let me get this straight, you actually have an elder brother?!."
Glendale Morris, beloved daughter of the vice governor of Yeaster town asked in astonishment. Her dark blue eyes twinkled in anticipation for gossip, a trait she used to assist Rosaline against her haters. She was the only female friend Rosaline kept, the only one she tolerated.
Immediately after the unruly meeting, Rosalina stormed out if the mansion, in other to cool her anger she rose a carriage to Glendale's mansion where they gathered in her garden to pour out her vexation over tea and cookies.
She didn't want to be bothered by her father's fruits request, she had far more important things to consider that to even view Drogo as a challenge. She was confident of the power under her fingers tips.
"I don't have an elder brother, Gwen."
She stated in a serious manner before hurriedly drink her tea as thought it was vodka instead to prove her point.
Glendale almost rolled her eyes instead she chose the hold in her serious look for the matter was more serious.
"So what are you gonna do?."
She knew she wasn't out of danger and the situation didn't call for just relaxation. Glendale knew Rosaline best so she knew that she was hurt over the betrayal. It's funny how a person can hurt you so much when you were expecting it in the first place.
Besides every problem comes with some solution.
"Ignore and hope it passes. So how was last night?."
Glendale lip twisted at her abrupt change of discussion, the matter was serious yet she took it lightly with a nonchalant attitude and an inferior aura, that same attitude that have the power to lift up or tear down.
She signed deeply in her heart, withdrawing her hands away from her before taking it as her thoughtless murmurs cause the great Rosaline she knew didn't work like that. So as her friend she subdue to her request.
She though about her outing at the mall yesterday and instantly turned into an overjoyed fan girl.
"My God!!!! Last night was so epic, Liam was so super handsome, oh!! I met with Lord Berk and Lord Theo along with their cousin who was out worldly so handsome even more than lord Berk, his name was Lucian and he came..."
Rosaline felt her breath hitch before she abruptly cut off her summary.
"Wait!! Berk and Theo were there?"
Glendale nodded in approval biting her tongue to stop her from lashing out at her interruption amongst other things.
After getting her answer, Rosaline's mind drifted back to the last day she met those lords.
Lord Berk Prestcote, Lord Collins Rainecourt and Lord Theo Mercer, promising young lords of their household, they were close friends with Rosaline and Ruben but ever since Ruben disappeared from Rosaline's life so had they, though Rosaline was partially to blame. Power came with a price and they each paid the price.
Rosaline raised her head at the beautiful garden with butterflies flattering about, the lush green grasses under the warm sun, the trees and huge fish pond at the center. She was staring at nothing in particular or maybe trying to see beyond to her future that felt blank to her.
"One day I will surely leave this place....."
Her voice became softer than it usually was, her eyes gentle, her red lip curved in a soft smile. Her beauty blended in with the garden making her look like a fairy.
"This place is like a curse to me every single part especially the Eiffel tower, and the London bridge."
Atlas, Dreams are the answers to questions that we haven't yet figured out how to ask. One never dreams about success, they worked for it. Those were the teachings of late Lord Goran to Rosaline.
Glendale had to clear her throat deeply to break her trance, since Rosaline had distracted her summary her eyes had been locked on her taking in her natural enchanting beauty, she saw why Rosaline was marked amongst the most beautiful maidens in Yeaster town, why even the present Mayor had eyes on the Nordorway Mansion.
Her heart clenched at the reminder.
"Aren't those the main beauty of France and the most romantic places?"
She almost scoffed but instead allowed her curiosity to grow in her eyes.
Rosaline's heart was still pouring out, her vulnerable state was a rare occurrence.
"It was were my mother fell in love with my father and became her living nightmare."
Your emotions trouble you only in those things which you call yours.
Glendale couldn't help but gasp aloud to cover up her real emotions.
If she were to tell the people of Yeaster town that their governess was a sappy fool, they would all turn mad but alas she was willing to give up on those feelings as though she had the power to do.
Glendale silently lamented in her heart yet as her friend she tried to pacify her.
"I will come with you."
She declared aloud, bringing those dewy brown eyes unto her.
Rosaline frowned at her determined loyalty, blinded by her illusion her heart skipped a beat. Glendale had been her only closest friend who understood her.
"No."
She had always followed her like a trusted sidekick, she didn't want her giving up her dreams for her, yet inside she was pleased.
She wasn't that pleased, she felt superior, she was glad she had her under her control, she was the sidekick that jump when told to, sit when looked at.
"But I want to Rose, you are my best friend, forever."
Still Rosaline valued Glendale's friendship,
But it didn't last.
For greed, Glendale betrayed Rosaline and she fled out of Yeaster town alone.
