June 17 has always been a depression date for Rose Constance, It was suppose to be the celebration of her birth but as fate would have it, it was also the celebration of Rachel's birthday.
Seven days to that specific date always had Rose more stressed out, she would find relief in her favorite club, 'Pink Séx' where she would drink herself silly and spend the night with an old classmate of hers who also happens to be a stripper/call boy.
Today which starts the seven days countdown to that was different for Rose, reasons because she felt more pressured to frustration.
First was the phone call from her mother who still secretly calls her behind her Father's back.
Four years ago, Rose swallowed her pride and returned to France with a child for his help. She went to the second mansion gifted to her by her grandfather, where she had left her mother before her escape went back to her. In her heart she hoped to settle the disrupt and clear her name before her father and the people, she needed her title back if she wanted to be strong enough to fight against the Yang, she was even willing to accept Dorogo as her brother, but at the end she was left shocked her father's heartless disapproval, he even tried to kill her.
Rose's birth home was a place of principles, charity and family, these were the teachings of her grandfather which she held deeply, when her father was appointed the new governor of her former home, he was a good leader to the people who always preached of doing good, he was close to the example of a priest to the outside world, but inside his home and mostly to Rose's description, he was a greedy politician who reap off the praises and fake promises, he was the definitely of every cruel man it gave Rose a bad mentality about men. It's why she never trusted them, never submitted to them.
The moment her father chased her out of France, Rose didn't cry neither did she beg instead she smiled. She smiled because she felt the chain wrapped around her break free, the obligations, the sacrificing her happiness to live up the his expectations only to be tossed aside because of what? she was a woman, her value and opinion didn't matter? she was too human to help an helpless child? or was it because she chose of path of suits and offices and not the home maker and kitchen? Or simply because he never did understood her?. Or did he truly not believe she was framed by his first son?.
So Rose didn't care, she simply turned back the door she came through never looking back or listening to the cries of her mother and siblings, she happily chose the life of a free woman, a successful one in fact.
Yes she became successful, through sleepless nights studying and caring for a child to working double job and with luck, Rose became the personal secretary to the vice president of one of the top five richest companies, a position anyone would fight to have, a position her father didn't know just has she had buried the existence of her past. She also accomplished other business that she wouldn't reveal until it was time.
Oh the hypocrite of favoritism of favouring sons over daughters.
The room was filled with the smell of sweat and alcohol, the loud beat of the music defeating to the ears with showcasing of lights, all this didn't matter to a beautiful golden skinned woman dressed in a short tight scarlet red dress seating in front of the bartender taking shots after the other lost in her own world.
Her chocolate brown hair was styled in a fancy bun with little stray that brushed her dark brown eyes that was heightened by the smokey eye shadow, her juicy red lips soft to the touch of the glass before hardening when taking the drink of whiskey like a pro. Her cute heart- shaped face lured the onlookers to her innocent and vulnerable feature outshine by the sexy outfit that brought out her shape especially the thin waist and moderate ass, she was the definition of a dangerous sexy Vixen there to tease and kill.
Those brown eyes of hers darkened in anger at her reason for being back at the club it was the fact that despite being a free and successful woman she still had ties of responsibility that made her a woman. She was yet to clock 24 years of age in just seven day yet her mother had started bombarding her with the topic of marriage
(My child, you aren't getting any younger, you need to start thinking about your future settled down and have a family of your own I'm pretty sure the little one is already longing for a father and a little one to play with. Please my child think about this maybe this time your father will accept and forgive you)
If it was a marriage like the one she was living, Rose wanted no part in living a life as her mother where all she did was sacrifice and serve, submit and obey and lose every bit of her self respect, Rose respected and hated the kind of woman her mother was, she was lucky to have been born head strong and never submitted to her Father's cruel handling, She despise just the mere thought of marrying a man like him.
You would have thought her mother was enough nagging for her to get married but no, her new life also had another nagging mother hen whom was cold to the world but soft hearted to her.
Dywen Bacheman
A true father figure, a friend, and a pain to her personal life
Ever since her episode at the Yangs party four years ago, Rose has had assassination attempts on her head, it was why she went back home and after being rejected, she went to the next city, San Fransisco to start anew. It was a struggle getting through, luckily she was an overachiever with excellent grades, her name were whispers of praise round the college when eventually led to an interview at Goldmine enterprise and co where fate reunited her with an old friend and crush, Eric Bacheman.
Eric was the first boy Rose went out with during her first year in Manchester city through pressure from Rachel. Rose was the type of girl who admired from afar and never approached, she always consider her living in Manchester to be a mission as she had struggled to get a scholarship to one of the top university, Birbeck. It was hard so, she dedicated her entire life to studying and ensuring no distraction but Rachel wanted her to live the moment.
She noticed Rose's constant staring, her slightly bashful expression when talking to Eric. Back then Daniel was known as the school's golden boy while Eric was the prince charming, her smile always captivated the girls in school, but to Rose it was his intelligence. They were in the same business department so it gave Rose the perfect field to examine him., he wasn't just about his look but also had brains his only problem was to avoid being distracted. He was honest and an helper though he came from a rich background he never looked down on other, always helping with a smile.
Rose had a crush for the likes of him, tall and handsome with brain and humanity, but the crush ended after her successful first date and she was back to her old self.
(Forget about the company and think about yourself, Goldmine might be nothing tomorrow just as you aren't getting any younger. I want nothing but your happiness seeing as I already see you as one of my kin. You refused my proposal of marrying Eric fine, I supported you but now I want you to bring in a man that you will spend the rest of your life with, a father little Kiara needs).
Dywen's words came from a good place in his heart, he was a man Rose always idolized.
and they expected her to turn the other way.
Not going to happen.
They became her family, and she always protect her loved one.
Does Rose have a solution?
No.
But she's never one to give up.
