"Wakey! Wakey!"
"Hnng!..."
"Lady wizardess!~"
"Mnahgba..."
"..."
"Bleaghmn-"
"Everything is on FIREE! WAKE UP!"
Scarlet gets up startled and bumps her head with Trystan's then pushes him on the floor and gets out of the bed but tangles her legs in the sheets and falls over Trystan. Then finnaly opens her eyes.
Still on Trystan, Scarlet looks up at him then realizes what is happening and her expresion makes her shame very clear.
Before she could get up, Trystan bursts laughing very loudly that it makes Scarlet laugh even louder with him.
After the two calm down, the girl gets up and they go out after eating and brushing their teeth, Trystan made Scarlet a tooth brush.
"So, where is this place?"
"Patience, we don't want someone to hear where are we going"
"Why aren't there any beasts anymore?"
"Right, about that, they go out in the evening and go back to their homes at the crack of the day"
"Where do you know all this?"
"....I used to study them"
"Why did you stop?"
"We're near, stop talking"
They walk a little bit more and stop in front of a big old tree.
"What-"
Trystan puts a finger to his lips, signaling Scarlet to keep silent.
The elf puts his hands at the tree's base and holds still until the tree trunk literally opens, like a door. Trystan gestures Scarlet to enter but she is a bit unsure about it so he takes her hand and enters first inside the tree.
Inside the tree is like in an elevator but there aren't any buttons, just a big switch.
Trystan presses the switch six times and the elevator starts going down very fast.
While Scarlet is flying in all directions like a puppet, Trystan stands firm on his feet and offers the girl a hand, to steady herself.
Scarlet takes it but just then, the door slides open to reveal a big warm place. Inside it are two couches by a fireplace that lights up the whole room and on the floor a huge green carpet with a sophisticated design.
The fire makes no smoke and it's a green color, matching the carpet. The walls can't be seen because they are covered by bookshelves.
"WOW!!" Scarlet screams running to the shelves and taking as much books as she could hold and jumps on one of the couches.
"Welcome to my secret place! I see you've already made yourself comfortable" Trystan says jumping on the couch next to the girl.
"You know, we can enjoy the place after we see your powers"
"Mhm, sure..." Scarlet aproves not taking her eyes from the book she's reading
"What are you reading?..." the boy says looking in her book
"The awakening of magic gifts"
"Cool, but won't you rather do some practice than reading something that you already went through?"
"You're right, let's do it!" Scarlet says closing the book loudly and getting on her feet.
"Follow me~"
Trystan walks to one of the shelves and takes out some books from a certain place and puts them back in a certain order.
Then the boy walks through the shelves and dissapears on the other side.
Scarlet doesn't have any other choice and follows the elf. On the other side of the wall it's pitch black so Scarlet stays still waiting for Trystan to light something up.
"What are you waiting for, Scarlet?"
"What? I can't see anything, I don't know what to do!"
"You could try to do some magic, if you don't mind!"
"What exactly?"
"Light your hands up, or something!"
"How!?"
"Didn't you awaken your powers in the tower?"
"I think I did but I don't know how to do it again!"
*sight*
"Sit down and concentrate, I will be right here with you"
"O-Ok...."
Scarlet sits on the floor crossleged and takes steady deep breaths until she calms down and concentrates on her centre, this is what she read in the book.
"The heart, this is where the warmth comes from, the magic..." this is the last thing Scarlet hears from Trystan before she completely clears her mind.
After some time, Scarlet feels her whole body burning and slowly opens her eyes to see she is glowing a yellow light, lighting up the whole room.
She slowly gets up and notices her hair and clothes are subtly floating.
The girl turns to Trystan and smiles at him happily. The boy is stunned, Scarlet looks like a goddes, she looks happy and powerfull.
"Y-You did it!" the elf beams taking a candle from a table from the room and holding it up for Scarlet wich was still glowing but her hair and clothes stopped floating.
"Now, I want you to direct your energy in your hands and light up this candle, don't push yourself to hard"
Scarlet nods and sits back down with the candle in front of her.
Slowly but surely, the light from her body fades away except for the one from her hands.
The girl giggles a bit because it tickles when the energy moves through her body.
When she feels ready, she points her finger to the candle but it doesn't light up at the first try.
Finnaly, after lots of tries, the candle lights up.
Scarlet looks up at Trystan and smiles, letting the light slowly fade away from her hands.
Trystan picks up the candle and gets out of the room with Scarlet following behind him.
"Now what?"
"Now we go back home"
"But we just got here!"
"It's already evening, we've been here for hours, Scarlet"
"WHAT!?"
"Time is tricky, you gotta keep up"
*sight*
"You're right, in the tower i felt like it's been days but actually i spend there just one day"
"You adapt pretty quikly, lady wizardess. Let's go!"
"Right!" Scarlet heads for the elevator
"Hey there, we don't go out like that with the beasts, we take the portal!" Scarlet turns to the elf
"What portal?"
Trystan points to the fireplace
"Cool!" the girl beams with joy
"Sometimes, I think you like this more than you should..." Trystan says taking her hand and going through the green fire
"No way!" Scarlet giggles while stepping in the portal to Trystan's home.
