Scarlet wakes up the next morning with Trystan waiting for her in the kitchen like the usual.
After the daily morning routine the two of them head to the girl's father's castle... Or better said, the ruins of it.
When they arrive at the ruins Scarlet notices Trystan looking around like he is searching for something.
"What are you doing, Trystan?"
"Me? Looking for a good place to exercise, of course..."
"Ooook..."
Finally Trystan finds a place where aren't rocks and starts working with the girl.
At some point, while Scarlet is focused on some candles, Trystan sees something moving in the corner of his eye but ignores it.
While practicing, suddenly, Scarlet feels some kind of force pulling her to a certain spot of the ruins so she walks away from Trystan.
"Where are you going, Scarlet? Wait for me!"
The girl ignores Trystan and pushes away some rocks and starts digging with her bare hands like her life depends on it, just as she sees something in the dirt and her hands start burning so hard that it hurts.
Someone shouts, a man, but it isn't Trystan's voice
"No! Stop the monster!"
A pair of strong large hands grab her arms and drag her back from the hidden treasure.
Scarlet looks around her to see she is surrounded by at least ten black smoky humanlike creatures and Trystan stands by their side looking at her with a cold look that says it all, betrayal
Before she is hit in the head with something and faints, Scarlet sees one of the creatures take out something from the pit she digged, even if she doesn't see clearly what it is, it feels very familiar and it makes her hands burn, wanting to hold it and feel its power.
Scarlet opens her eyes and finds herself having dinner with her parents, Thomas and his parents, she looks at her lap a bit confused and when she looks up at Thomas, an arrow goes through his head then the memory vanishes. Trystan takes her and runs with her to the exit of the tower then jumps off the cliff, into the water...
The girl goes through the same things again and nothing surprises her anymore but she hides it from Trystan, if he really is going to betray her and everything she heard in the conversation between him and the shadow is true, then she's got to play it smart.
The night when Trystan is out talking with the shadow, Scarlet lies awake in bed, wondering if she really saw the future, how she did that and how to save herself from death. Suddenly, the answer comes clear to her, or at least one of the answer, she should go to the ruins and find out what was this thing she wanted so much in her vision.
So she gets ready and goes out of the house carefully, she remembers clearly the way to the ruins, or at least she thinks she does, so that shouldn't be a problem. Scarlet tries to hurry so she could make it home before sunrise.
Finally, the girl makes it to the ruins of the castle and feels almost instantly that force pulling her to the specific spot. She starts digging and feels her hands start burning again, when she sees something white and dirty she imagines it's a rock but to her shock it's actually a human skull
Before she can take it out and hold it properly, someone shouts her name
''Trystan...'' the girl sights and turns around to face the elf who is cautiously aproaching her ''What are you doing here, Scarlet ?'' ''What are YOU doing here ? How did you know I was here ?'' ''Intuition'' ''I think this intuition is also named The Shadow Man''
''What are you talking about ? Let's go home, you could get killed by one of the beasts here alone'' ''I think going home with you is not too different from being killed by a beast, at least with the beast I've got a change to protect myself so I'd rather stay here''
The boy doesn't get to reply because Scarlet takes out the skull and holds it inspecting it when a surge of power bursts from the girl and pushes him back.
Scarlet slowly floats in the air still looking at the skull with glowing amber eyes, bright yellow magic covers her body literally burning her black dress and replacing it with a white one, fit for a goddess. From her head grow white horns while Trystan watches her with a mix of horror and admiration.
''This is my father's skull...'' is the last thing the girl says with tears in her eyes before the elf catches her falling from the sky
