That night, while Scarlet was fast asleep, Trystan had some business to attend to...
He sneaks out of the treehouse and goes to a dark cave. He draws a black pentagram on the ground and lights up some candles then puts them around the drawing.
The elf wishpers something and all the cadles suddenly go out.
The temperature around him drops considerably but he stays still and looks straight to the pentagram, waiting for something.... or rather someone, to appear.
The next moment, a dark fluid shadow starts coming out of the ground, tracing exactly the lines of the pentagram.
Trystan backs away a bit, to leave space for the entity forming in front of him.
"Greetings, Trystan!" the black entity with a hat speaks
"Welcome, Shadow Man~"
"Don't be silly boy, call me dad!" the Shadow Man pets Trystan's head
"You wish, old man"
"Ok, well we are meeting here to talk about the monster's daughter, that little girl... how was it.... Selena?"
"Scarlet"
"Oh yes! How is she?"
"Her powers are growing unexpectedly fast, she is a lot like her father, except for the evil part"
"Ohoho, Trystan! Don't understimate her evilness, the moment she finds out what is actually going on, she will go crazy!"
"I guess so.... but she is so kind and innocent, I can't imagine her getting all evil and dark..."
The Shadow Man slaps Trystan across the face
"What are you saying, boy? Don't you understand she is the most powerfull force of darkness? Haven't you seen how the forest changed when she entered? She killed everything only with her presence!"
"But she didn't do it on purpose, it's not her fault she was born from darkness!"
"Darkness and light, the lethal combination my son. Her dad corrupted my sister and made her fall in love with him, so he could have someone to carry his cursed nature on.
We are lucky I killed him before he could raise that cursed child and kill all of us!
We thought we won after erasing that couple's memories and giving them fake ones and the child. But it didn't work entirely and they understood she should come back to the forest one day and that she has magic powers!
That cursed evil family of hers created the human race and teached them we are the bad ones and they are good, so this helped our plan where the girl dosen't lose her powers and enters the forest.
And surprise! This exact thing happened and we better act fast before she learns the truth and kills everything and everyone!
We guided her here to take her powers and kill her, this is what you are leading her to, to her death! So you better keep that damn thing in mind and listen to your father!"
Trystan looks down to his feet and nods ashamed.
"Good, we don't want to waste any more time, tomorow take her to her cursed father's castle and tell her she will exercise with her powers. I will be there with a few mans and we will take care of her."
Trystan nods again and turns to head out of the cave but his father's voice stops him.
"Son, just listen to me and everything will go back to normal again, everyone will be happy."
The Shadow Man vanishes with the mark and candles
The boy heads to the treehouse without another word.
