"Hey, Nevy." I stop as a hand comes around my wrist. I turn to the voice with a smile.
"Hi, Kai." He pauses to look at me then smirks.
"Kai?" I blush, averting my eyes.
"I- um, it's just you call me Nevy and I don't have a name for you so I just.." I glance at him when he starts chuckling.
"No, you're the first to call me that," he leans in, "I like it."
He smiles then shakes his head. "Anyway, Nevy, you're sitting with me from now on."
I furrow my eyebrows as he grabs my tray from my hand.
"Huh?" He chuckles then nods his head to the cafeteria tables inside.
"Follow me."
I blush as people glue their eyes to our connecting limbs before moving back to their changed conversations.
God Dammit, he's so ugh.
He chuckles then looks back at me.
"No need to be shy, all they do is stare, no biting." He winks and I just about lose it. I might though.. I adjust my glasses and smooth down my bangs.
I'm so hopeless.
Once we make it to the table I'm glad to find it empty, then I frown.
"Kai,"
His smile widens causing me to get flustered. Then I shake my head softly.
"What about your other friends that you sit with?" Putting both our trays down, he sits down and grabs my hand to pull me down with him.
"It's just the football team and some others, I'm good here." He takes a bite of his pizza and chews joyously. I smile as he bounces from side to side with every chew, humming a random melody.
God, he's so cute.
Khalil's eyes light up as if he remembers something.
"Oh, plus, I love your dance moves." I blush at the playful twinkle in his eyes. Looking away, I cover my blush.
"J-just eat your food."
He chuckles softly then goes back to his chewing, bouncing, and humming. I laugh quietly to myself at how this boy's personality and features don't match. While he looks like the sexy, rigid, mysterious type he acts like the playful, goofy, charmer.
It's quite a thing, I must say. Makes him absolutely irresistible yet he's too frivolous to get the hint when girls flirt with him. I'm not going to say he's dense or oblivious 'cause he's not, he obviously knows all those girls want to fuck the living daylights out of him but I think he likes being coy about it.
That or he's just filling the role of a preacher's son.
"Nevy?" I blink a couple times.
"Yes?" He smiles, moving closer.
"You got the eyes part down, now you just needa use those ears." He tucks my hair behind my ear, tugging on it softly as both of them turn red. Just as red as the hand I was caught with. My blush deepens.
I can't believe I was just blatantly ogling him.
"S-sorry." He laughs, shaking his head then removes his palm.
"Nah, I like your eyes on me," he sips on his Gatorade.
"Means you're intrigued." He winks as a smile slowly lifts onto his face. I fix my glasses, covering my blush in the process.
God, why?

One Month Later
"Nevy!" I blush as people soak me up with their gaze. When Kahlil sits with me I smile softly.
"Kahlil, can you please not do that, it draws attention." He looks around then back at me.
"Don't be that way, Nevy, they're background noise." I slowly smile as I blush. He smiles back.
"Oh, also my dad is dating someone and wants me to meet her and her kid." I nod while taking a fry from my tray.
You know, typically, at schools the lunches are terrible. It's not the case at this one though. My favorite is Taco Tuesdays and Muffin Mondays, for breakfast. I eat another fry. I wish this school was K through 12 so my siblings could enjoy the food too. Unfortunately, their lunches aren't as good.
"And my dad said I could bring someone," my eyes widen as I frantically shake my head. That's getting too personal. Ugh, this is why I didn't want friends in the first place. He furrows his eyebrows.
"Why not?" I stop eating, looking down.
"How about your other friends, you have so many." He pushes my glasses up then swipe my bangs from my face, capturing my attention.
"Nevaeh, you're sweet, lovable, and innocent. You have to be there, It'll make things better if needed." I bite my lip. If only he knew I'm anything but. I place my hands on my lap.
"I'm super sorry, but I can't." He sighs, wrapping his arms around me and laying his head on my shoulder.
"Oh, what will I do without my heaven there?" I crack a little smile. Kahlil has a super adorable personality.
"Tell me what happens tomorrow."

When I see them coming I hide. Why the hell are they together?
"Nevaeh!" Kahlil sits down at the table along with the other boys, Adriano and Leon. This is a nightmare. How do they know each other?!
"That's weird, we usually sit here together." Leon grunts, getting up.
"Ima get me some food." They nod to him as he leaves.
"Hey K.C, who's this girl anyway?" I turn around, sighing. Is this karma for fucking a classmate? Damn my hormones.
"Well, she's- actually right there." I freeze. What. Before I can think of an escape plan, Kahlil grabs me and lends to death row. Once I sit down Leon comes back.
"Okay, now that everyone's here, Nevaeh," he points to Adriano.
"This is Adriano. He's my dad's girlfriend's son if that makes any sense." I nod while he stares at me then smiles. I blush, averting my eyes.
I can't believe.. all that dirty talk... I hate myself for letting them affect me. This is so awkward, I wanna die.
"Oh wait, you're in my gym class." I nod slightly. He chuckles, making the other two laugh along.
"The girl with the sexy legs." I push up my glasses which hopefully hide my embarrassment.
"Anyway, this is Leon. He's a family friend of Adriano." I nod, keeping my eyes where they are, knowing what Leon's make me remember.
"I'm Nevaeh." Kahlil smiles.
"You can call her Nevy for short though." Leon furrows his eyebrows. That doesn't look good.
"Nevy?" I nod. He takes in my whole person as I try to remain calm. I quickly stand up.
"It was nice meeting you too, but I have a teacher I need to talk to." They nod and I grab my things.
"Bye, Kahlil." He waves. Once I'm out of the cafeteria I sigh in relief. Then I internally groan. This is what I get for making a friend.
