Chapter 12 - The Late Riser, The Mistake, and The Impatient

I rub my eyes once my eyelids feel the sunlight. Opening them I hold back a frown at the sight next to me.

Why? I said I wouldn't do this again. Adriano is sleeping with furrowed brows and a small frown.

Not being able to deal with myself right now, I move towards him and shake him slightly.

I want to leave and just be alone but I should tell him first, it'd be wrong after how concerned he was for me last night.

This causes him to stir then he eyes flutter open. He smirks at me then he chuckles.

"Morning, Beautiful." I paste on a smile, sitting up.

"Ditto, Handsome." I look towards his window while he sits up as well.

"I should probably go n-"

"Adriano-" My eyes widen as I grab the sheets to cover my body.

Oh my gosh, no! Adriano scrambles to find something to cover his junk.

"Dude, get the fuck out!" Leon and Kahlil stare never leave me as they process what Adriano said then actually listen to him.

Oh, shit. I knew I shouldn't have come here. What the hell was I thinking?! I hide my flushed cheeks as I search of my clothes.

"Um, I think this should be the last time.." He furrows his eyebrows, handing me a shirt of his.

"What? Is it 'cause of my friends walking in on us?" I sigh, after putting his shirt on.

"Look, I love this whole friend's with benefits deal we have going on, but," He lifts a brow.

"But." I go to your school, am friends with you at said school, oh and the guys that just walked in are also my said, friends. Not to mention the one with the bad boy aura has previously seen me half naked and is probably putting two and two together right now.

I mentally sigh. And let's not even get started on how I lose all common sense just coming here last night.

"I don't usually do stuff like this," I tighten my grip on the sheets around me.

"I'm more of a one-night stand type of girl." He moves closer to me, taking hold of my face. I shake my head with a frown.

"Please, don't." He doesn't listen though. Adriano's face gets closer as his eyes glance towards my lips.

"I can't help it, Nadia, you're so god damn irresistible." Then his lips connect with mine, causing a moan to release on my end.

Ugh, this boy will be the death of me. Even though I really really don't want, I pull away with firm hands against his chest.

"Your friends are just outside, Adriano." He sighs, staring at me for a while before finally giving up.

"Fine," We move away from each other.

"I'll let you win this time." I smile teasingly, trying to forget about everything that happened yesterday as I slide my shorts on.

"Oh, I'm eternally grateful." He walks over to me with a pair of sweats on.

"You bet your sweet ass you are." I laugh as he gives me his biggest smile.

Once my shoes are on, I grab the rest of my things and we head towards his door. He slowly opens it before getting an approving nod from me.

We don't see the two boys so I relax a little. Then we pass the living room and there they are, sitting on the couch with the TV on.

I glance at them awkwardly then look to Adriano. He puts his hand on the small of my back.

"I got it from here, I should be going anyway." After a moment he nods.

"I'll text you." I smile nervously then make my way to the front door, trying my best to not make eye contact with Kahlil or Leon. Then my eyes widen when a realization hits.

Oh my gosh, it's a school day. I frown. My life officially sucks.

I sigh, nervously fingering my bangs. I can't just hide in the bathroom, they'll get suspicious.

To take up a little bit more time, I slowly adjust my glasses then head towards the door. I walk as slow as normally possible to the cafeteria.

When our table comes into view, I hold my breath. Going straight to the table, I completely forget about lunch. I don't think I'm hungry anyway.

"Hey, Nevy, how was your day so far?" I blush, averting my eyes. Well, you see Kahlil that right there is a loaded question.

"Um, okay. How was yours?" Leon closes to the table with his tray.

"Kinda weird, actually." Adriano and Leon glance at him.

"What was weird?" Leon grunts out before examining his food as if he didn't pick it out himself.

"Nevaeh asked about my day." Leon's eyes instantly find mine and I blink away, looking towards Kahlil.

Though that doesn't stop the guy from looking over my small frame. I hold back a gulp.

This is trouble, he definitely knows something is up.

"K.C., are you still hung up on what happened this morning?" I perk up.

"What happened?" I honestly don't know why I asked, I already know what happened. Adriano shakes his head.

"It's not for virgin ears, babe." I furrow my eyebrows while Kahlil rolls his eyes.

"Adriano, she's older than you." He shrugs.

"That has nothing to do with anything." I glance at Leon when I notice how quiet he is.

"Nevaeh." I jump a little at Kahlil's voice.

"He just brought a girl home and we kinda walked in on them." I blush while he rubs the back of his neck.

"I swear she looked familiar." He says more to himself, causing my eyes to widen. Adriano sighs.

"I told you already, the girl has a name, it's Nadia." Pushing my glasses up my face, I inch farther and farther from the table.

"Well, she seems lovely, but I have to go so.." Kahlil furrows his eyebrows, standing as I get up.

"Where to?" I hold my arms behind my back, searching my mind for an excuse.

"Ms. North wanted to talk with me." He doesn't say anything, but he does sit back down so I take that as a believable enough lie.

"I'll see you guys later, then." Adriano and Kahlil say bye while Leon just stares at me. Looking away from them, I walk out of the cafeteria.

Isn't today just lovely?

Adriano Ricci

Adriano sighs as they stare at Nevaeh until she's gone.

"I told you her virgin ears couldn't handle." Leon scoffs.

"Shut up, she's not five." Adriano lifts an eyebrow, turning to Leon.

"That still doesn't change the fact that she hasn't seen a dick before. " Leon rolls his eyes, stabbing at his food.

"And how would you know that." He huffs, going back to his food.

"What do you mean, it's obvious she—"

"Guys." The two turn to see Kahlil still staring at the place Nevaeh exited through with worried features.

"Do you think... Nevaeh knows Nadia in any way?" They pause to glance at each other then go back to looking at Kahlil. Adriano furrows his eyebrows.

Now that's done playing around, he did notice how uncomfortable she got and how fast she wanted to leave when Nadia was mentioned.

Do they know each other from somewhere?

But that just doesn't seem possible, they didn't tell her what she looked like so it could be any Nadia in the world.

Plus, how could such a wild girl like her ever cross paths with a tame and timid one like Nevaeh. Adriano clears his throat.

"Um, I don't know but it's not likely that she knows her. Maybe she was just embarrassed about the situation all together?" Everyone's silence for a second as the rest of their classmates carry on with their usual lunch. Then Kahlil hesitantly nods.

"Yeah.. probably... I'm still gonna ask her about it though." Adriano glances at a silent Leon as he eats. He's probably overthinking the littlest of things.

Like always.

Going back to his food, he leaves the two to their head. Mindlessly picking through the food as he thinks of the same thing the others are.

What if they do know each other? How are they connected? They sorta look alike, are they related?

Adriano frowns, stabbing at a baby carrot. After a sigh, he decides to clear his mind and ignore the nagging questions, though he badly wants them answered.

All secrets come out eventually.

I freeze when a hand slams against my car door, blocking me from opening it. Then I feel someone's breath on the back of my neck. I subconsciously shiver. After a moment of silence, I turn towards the person.

Leon. I gulp when I realize how close he actually is.

"Um, h-hi Leo—"

"Take off your pants." I stop everything then blink, numbly.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Moving closer, he furrows his eyebrows and gives off a dangerous look.

"Your pants." He tucks at the fabric around my waist.

"Off now." The color drains from my face. His eyes are staring directly into mine and I can't seem to function. I want to push him away, jump into my car then drive off.

I want to run away to Canada and become a French speaker alone, forever scared of Americans. I want to do anything just so those eyes never stare into mine. I hate them so much.

Others made think that they're beautiful, but beauty holds power and power is dangerous. I'm finally able to avert my eyes.

"We're in public." He removes his hand from my car.

"Let's go on a drive then." Without consent, Leon opens the passenger car door then gets in. I lean back into my car, suddenly so happy that he's not near me anymore.

Then I tense back up when I register what he said. A drive?
