Stephanie dragged Linrun up the stairs and into one of the rooms that the group had purchased. Following shortly after, was the other four girls from the table. They quickly rushed into the room, and then locked the door, making sure that the four boys wouldn't consider coming in while they had their discussion.
Linrun was so embarrassed that she was unable to make a coherent sentence come out of her rosy lips. "What.. He.. Why, like that?!"
Stephanie calmed down and comforted Linrun as she noticed slight tears forming at the corners of her eyes. The other girls who were all smiling, had become more solemn as they saw Linrun struggling with her emotions.
Pulling Linrun's short stature into a hug, Stephanie gently hushed her before she spoke. "Hey, what's wrong?"
Taking a couple deep breathes, Linrun finally looked at Stephanie. "Why was he like that? He already has you, and why were you so nonchalant about him messing with me? Isn't he your man?! Plus he shouldn't be going and doing that! Why's he gotta be so mean, playing with my emotions like that?!"
As she ranted, tears began to trickle down her face. Stephanie, Sylvia, and Quixi became shocked at how Linrun was reacting, however Asani and Tarenia sadly smiled as they felt like they could connect to her with the hardships they themselves went through.
Asani gently walked up and patted Linrun's knee as she sat down on the floor next to her. "Linrun, all that matters is did you like the attention he gave you?"
Linrun froze and awkwardly looked up at everyone. When she looked at Stephanie, she saw her smiling as she squeezed Linrun's shoulders. She blushed as she thought back to it, and realized that she had felt excited and happy even though she didn't know this boy for long. "I guess, but he clearly didn't have any respect towards me as a woman since he was touching me," she pouted, looking at the corner of the room and not making eye contact with anyone.
Tarenia lightly laughed as she gently grabbed Linrun's chin and turned her head so she was facing everyone. "The reason why they're all so different is because of where they came from. Those four came from a world far different than ours, were it had little to no magic and it's technology was far more sophisticated than ours. If I'm not wrong on my hunch, than there is a chance that the prince of Siol is also from their world. Anywise, in there world, they call the type of actions that Hunter did as dating. From the way they made it sound, it's a more complex version of courting."
"Mmhmm. Hunter likes you, and thanks to him being a divine creature, he feels a strong connection to you; just like he feels a strong connection to me. As for letting him pursue you, as long as he still loves me, I'm fine with me gaining sisters." Stephanie smiled as she looked at Linrun.
Linrun's eyes widened in shock as she looked at Stephanie and stuttered. "W-what do y-you mean sisters?!"
With a smile and a wink she responded. "Hunter is willing to give both of us the world, and his love. If we're willing to be with him of course. I've already agreed to being one of his wives when I get older, and now he wants to give you the same things he'll give me. A safe home that we can live a happy life together and start a family for eternity."
Linrun froze as she looked at Stephanie before she smiled sadly. "As much as I would love to have a dream like that, I am not lucky enough for it to be. If Hunter could save my grandmother and stop that bastard than I'll gladly be your sister, but he isn't able to save me from my nightmare."
Quixi ran up and grabbed Linrun's hands. "Big brother is able to help you, so is brother Orion!"
Linrun glanced at Quixi before she looked at the other girls and saw them all smiling at her. Sylvia sat on the other the side of the bed, turning to face Linrun as she spoke gently. "Hunter and his brothers aren't human. They're powerful beings capable of killing hundreds of thousands and even bringing the dead back to life. Just one of them should be strong enough to save your grandmother and deal with your troubles."
Linrun became shocked as her eyes widened and she caught her breath. "You mean... they can really do it?" Tears began to form in the corners of her eyes as she slowly smiled happily upon hearing this fact. "By the way, what are they exactly, since you said they aren't human."
The girls slightly froze when they heard this, however Quixi, being a young innocent child started excitedly rattling off what the brothers were. "They're all angels. Orion has white wings, Hunter has black wings, Ian has copper wings, and Spartacus has rainbow wings!"
Sylvia grabbed Quixi by the shoulders as she glared at her. "Quixi, they asked everyone to keep quiet about that. Remember if word gets out that they're angels then lots of bad monsters will begin hunting them before they're strong enough to protect themselves and us."
Quixi lowered her head as tears welled up in her eyes as she realized she did something wrong. Linrun grabbed her hand gently as she smiled at Quixi. "I promise I won't tell a soul about it. It'll be our little secret."
Quixi turned into a ray of sunshine instantly after Linrun said that. Linrun then turned towards Stephanie, and saw a weird emotion much like that of doubt, though it quickly vanished. [Wonder what's going on inside her head]. "Okay, if what you all say is true than I'll believe it."
Stephanie sighed before looking at everyone in the room with a slightly hesitant but determined look in her eyes. "Since we all want to be with them for the rest of our lives, there's something you should know." The other girls all looked at her, wondering what it could be that she had to say. "Orion is actually the only angel in the group."
Everyone's eyes widened when they heard this. Finally Sylvia, with a whisper, asked, "Then what are Spartacus, Ian, and Hunter?"
Stephanie spoke slowly as she gave a pained smile. "Spartacus is actually a god, and Ian is a creature called a Levithian. As for Hunter, well.... After meeting him and spending time with him, do you think he is evil?"
Noticing that Stephanie didn't answer what Hunter was, but instead ask a question about what they thought about him caused Linrun and the elf sisters to look at each other with slight worry. Finally Asani and Tarenia booth shook their heads, and Linrun softly said. "I don't think he's evil, but I haven't gotten to know him for long to really know him."
Stephanie nodded before she continued. "What I'm about to tell you needs to honestly be only between us. If word gets out, not only will Hunter be hunted down and killed, but so will all of us and everyone we call friends." At this point her voice had become very soft and stern, and she was looking at Quixi and Sylvia as they both nodded their heads, everyone's eyes wide in wonder as to what he was.
"Hunter is a demon."
In the silence that followed, one could hear a pin drop from miles away as the girls registered what Stephanie said. Linrun, slowly became scared as she realized that she was willing to become a demon's woman to escape her sinister fate. She slowly got up and began backing away from Stephanie, looking at her with disgust and fear. At this time it was past midnight, and then a knock occurred at the door.
Everyone froze as they looked at the door. Finally, Sylvia whispered a single sentence. "It's Hunter."
With fear in her eyes, Asani slowly opened the door, not daring to look at Hunter. He noticed this reaction and nodded his head, his mouth forming a single straight line with no emotion evident. He walked in, closing the door behind him before he walked over to Stephanie and wrapped his arms around her as he sat down next to her, looking at the other girls in the room.
"Tell me, why is it that all demons are bad while not all humans are good?" It was the only sentence he spoke, but it caused a major impact in all the girls as they sat or stood, watching him.
Finally Sylvia let out a short breath. "You're right. You saved my sister and I without even hesitating or asking for reimbursement in anyway, shape, or form. Instead you and your brothers asked us if there was more of us in trouble, and you were willing to help save the rest of our friends. Compared to all the humans we've met before you, you were far kinder than any of them."
After hearing Sylvia speak, the other girls slowly began to relax as they thought about what she said. Linrun looked at them, still feeling tensed and unwilling to accept the thought of a good demon.
Hunter dryly smiled before he spoke again. "As most of you know from the other three; my brothers and I are from a world were magic doesn't exist, and were only humans live. So surprise surprise, my soul is originally human. What's more is when I woke up in this world and found out I was a demon, I found out I actually belong to an extinct demon race. The race I belong to is called Kidelio, or in mortal tongue, Demon's of Justice. I don't know much about what caused them to go extinct or what exactly was there purpose. However, I'm planning on trying to look in to it once all of you are settled down, and I don't have to worry about keeping any of you safe from harm."
After he spoke he turned and directly spoke to Linrun. "I know since we have only just met that you find it hard to trust and believe me, so I have no intentions of forcing you to do anything. If you would like my help with anything just ask and I will help you, no reimbursement and no questions asked."
Linrun looked at him cautiously before she finally decided to tell him her troubles. "My grandmother is all I have left for my family and she is now gravely ill. To get the money to pay a priest to cure her, I agreed to become a mistress to a noble who was visiting from the Yechen Empire several days ago. He is planning on returning to the Yechen Empire in four days, however tomorrow night is the night that I'm supposed to become his play thing." She looked away after saying this, not willing to look any of the other girls in the eyes.
Asani and Tarenia both came up and comforted Linrun, holding her as they slowly shared their nightmare and told her about how Hunter had saved them. While this happened, Hunter had walked outside, into the hallway as his emotions slowly became darker. Stephanie followed him out and wrapped her arms around him from behind.
"Don't do anything rash yet. I know you want to kill him just as much as I do for being a disgusting piece of shit, but we have to be smart about or else Siol will get in trouble. Then we will all have to leave again to try and find a new place to call home." She whispered softly into his back. It wasn't until this point that she fully registered how short she was compared to other kids, especially since Hunter was about the same height as her.
Hunter slightly guessed what she was thinking about as she huffed, causing his negative emotions to slowly drain as he laughed at her. "Don't worry, you'll definitely get taller by time you're sixteen. And I promise I'll hold back, however I will be informing the other three."
Stephanie nodded before she looked him in the "eyes". "When you guys decide to punish him, take me with you."
Hunter nodded before he gently kissed her and sent her back into the room before going back to his.
