"Okay.... and what would that be?" You could tell he really did not want to answer me, he looked very appalled.
I looked at Jason. who half smiled and nodded, and then back to Richard, "So here it is... Mark kidnapped my mother from the mortal word, my world, and I have no idea where she is. Is there a way to ask the witch that helped you, if there is a way around the spell? A loop hole of some sort. All we know is that he had her somewhere in Unmarked territory." I bit my lip hoping he would be somewhat... helpful and not just say no.
"Uh, Well... That is a tough one Princess. Even if she came here I am not sure she would just help without anything in return. She is a very.. greedy witch, if you ask me. Do you really want to risk entangling yourself with her?" His eyebrows were up and I could see his face flustered.
"Anything to get my mother back." I said quietly looking down at my lap.
"I will try and get ahold of her. But Princess?" Richard said running his hand through his hair and standing up.
"Yes?"
"You sure? Like positive? Sometimes she makes you pay a price you really can't handle..."
I furrowed my brows, "Okay? Richard what is the WORST she can say for a price? Your first born or something?" I was waving my hand around at the end trying to be dramatic and sound sarcastic.
His hands rested on the back of his neck while his face went emotionless, "Y-Yes Princess... things like that."
"Wait... WHAT? MY FIRSTBORN?!" I yelled back in shock of how loud I just yelled that to Richard. Whoops.
"Yes Princess..."
Jason stood up behind, "No. We will NOT speak to her if that is the price."
I looked up at him, but I could feel Julie pull the needle out at the same time. I looked down at my arm and winced in response.
"All done dear." She said not looking my way.
I quickly looked back at Jason, "Maybe we can bargain with her for something else that is of equal value?"
"Richard, what offer did you give her to make Mark disappear?" I asked, very curious because he has no child on the way... that I know of anyway.
"Well.. since she said a wrong word, she told me she would cut the price down. I paid her a pretty dime, that is for sure." He said glancing at me before he looked at Jason.
"How much would that be?" Jason said, locking eyes with Richard trying to see where he was going with this.
Richard threw his hands up, " Look. I am trying to prepare you for whatever she may name as her price okay? Don't get hostile with me."
I stood up and needed to break the trance Jason had with Richard so they would snap out of it.
"I think you should see if she can come here. Tell her you know of someone with good wealth. See if that at least gets her attention and gets her here." I said looking at Richard and Jason slowly. I had to find this witch and see what I can get out of her. I hope her price won't be to high.
Richard nodded in agreement and let out a big sigh, " I don't know how you do it man." He looked at Jason and shook his head.
He looked at me and smiled, "Love."
"Indeed. Love makes you do crazy things." Richard chuckled as he walked to the door of the room.
"I am going to see If I can find her by afternoon time tomorrow. Okay? I will update you on anything I hear or find out when you return." He bowed and dismissed himself.
Julie was still in the room. Her and the maiden were cleaning up the chair and area I was just sitting in. I needed to ask her something before I forget.
"Jason, you can head to the mail hall. I have to ask Julie something real quick. "
I leaned up and kissed his lips, "I will be right behind you." I smiled and started to walk over to Julie.
"Julie?" I asked quietly, I could tell she was deep in thought. I didn't want to startle her.
"Oh my, yes dear?" She chuckled as she jumped a little and held her chest.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." I said as I sat down back in the chair.
"Oh it's quite alright dear. What is on your mind?" She said while sitting in front of me.
"When we were hiding, I noticed something about the rooms and the bathroom... There weren't any mirrors. May I ask why?" I was nervous asking this question. I found it so odd that the bathroom didn't even have a mirror. Like... what bathroom does have a mirror?
"Ha, sweetheart. That is because people can still find you through a mirror. If they cannot find you, they find someone who can that way. But I will say, It isn't the most pleasant feeling trying to do so. That kind of spell is extremely draining and takes a lot of practice in magic. It is a type of deep magic. You have to pin point someone and keep on them. If you lose them once you find them, It is very difficult to do the same spell again."
"Oh, okay. Makes sense." I said nodding my head slowly to her. I stood up and she did, I hugged her and thanked her. "How is your son? Any more progress?"
She smiled, "Yes, he has walked to the bathroom today a few times already on his own. All because of you, Isabelle. Thank you."
This made my heart feel warm, "I am so happy to hear that. I can't wait to see what more does." I hugged her again and waved goodbye.
I went into the main hall, looking for Jason. I didn't see him here, maybe he is already outside waiting for me.
I went outside in the courtyard and I saw him with the horses, but also talking to Richard, quietly. They both looked up and saw me and stopped talking.
As I got closer to them I asked, "Is everything... alright?"
They both nodded and patted each other on the back. I walked to my horse when suddenly... It hit me!
I stopped walking and my jaw dropped. Richard and Jason both looked at me with concern with their hands on their weapons.
"Princess?" Richard asked, looking like he's ready to fight.
"Isabelle? What is it?" Jason asked sternly.
"THAT'S IT! THAT IS HOW WE CAN FIND MARK!"
They both looked at each other with confused looks, then back to me.
"Uhh.. Princess? Please. explain what you are talking about." Richard said with his hands on hips, waiting for my response.
"THE MIRROR!" I screamed.
