Captain Enyo had been in Madam Silvers office before but never with any of her five guards. All but one were in the office at the time.
"Is this necessary Madam."
"I never give bad news without one of them with me."
"Is this an excuse or a reason?" Captain Enyo leaned forward in his seat. "Is there something you need to tell me? Because when I checked, the gift you gave me was incomplete. It was a few pieces short of enough to play with."
"As you're aware, there have been a few thefts on the road from here to the capital in the past few months. Due to the Do Gooders Rob and Hood"
"Are you saying your Cardis were a part of the looted items while in route?"
Madam Silvers pulled a piece of parchment out of her desk drawer and handed it to Captain Enyo. "Those are the ledgers for the items and traveling routes. If you check the papers, then the locations and dates fit."
Captain Enyo rolled up the documents. "Is that all?"
"Ye-es." Madam Silvers stumbled over the word anxiously.
"Then do you permit me to leave?"
"Yes, of course. Cap..."
"Wrong. I am a Captain of the Peace Corps. Therefore you do not permit me to leave or stay. Five persons were reported missing. I made those go away under the conditions that we stated. If you don't comply with those conditions then I will have no choice other than to arrest you and shut down your 'Business'."
"You wouldn't. I have other friends. I will tell..."
"My superiors?" Enyo looked Silvers in her eyes. "They've been well taken care of because of our arrangements. Your guards are used to sneaking up and squashing bugs in the dark. The flame of justice never stops burning and I am no bug." Captain Enyo got up and walked towards the door. "Madam. I did enjoy our game."
"Justice! You're no better than me!" Madam Silvers yelled at him condescendingly.
"This uniform, the Peace Corps, and the world say otherwise. I hope by the morning you see things differently and find a way to squeeze my compensation out of your patrons." Captain Enyo made his way out of the office.
Madam Silvers slammed her fist on the desk. "Damn it." She looked up at one of her guards. "Get Eleanor."
