There was only darkness. She couldn't see anything. The darkness was thick and heavy. There was no sound. She could only hear her heartbeat. She tried to feel around but there was only emptiness around her. She turned to her side and met glowing blue eyes staring back at her. She flinched and let out a tiny scream.
"Relax, it's just me," Damon told her.
She exhaled sharply. She had totally forgotten that she wasn't alone and that Damon was with her.
"I have a lighter. I hope some twigs and broken branches fell into this hole with us," Damon said.
Alexia refused to speak. She was determined not to have a conversation with him. She didn't even want to hear his voice even if deep down, she knew it was comforting that she hadn't fallen into this pit alone.
Damon lit the lighter and their prison was illuminated. It was like some kind of cave with strong walls surrounding them. Yet they were breathing fine.
