Chapter 18 - 18

CHARLIE'S POV

"Batman! Ella!" I exclaimed excitedly as I stepped into Demi's house. Demi and I landed more than an hour ago. Luckily I was able to sneak my blade. I knelt down on the floor and began to play with Batman and Ella.

"They're not greeting the person who feeds them?!" Demi asked, pretending to be hurt.

"I'm the cool aunt. What can I say?" I joked. Demi smacked me back in the head, causing us both to laugh.

"How about you go upstairs and unpack while I make us some dinner?" Demi suggested as she pulled out some ingredients for a sandwich. How am I supposed to get out of eating?

"Yeah, sure." I agreed before I went upstairs to the room I have at Demi's place. It's been more than two years since I've been to her place. I walked into my room and was shocked as I saw all the pink. It looked like it belonged to a princess.

"What the fuck." I muttered to myself.

How did I used to like pink? Why did my twelve year old self think it was cool? This also happened to be the very room where Wilmer hurt me. This room was where I actually got my innocence stolen. The man from the city back in Texas wasn't the one who stole it. Was I going to tell my family that Wilmer took my innocence? Of course, I wasn't. I couldn't hurt Demi more than I have. So, I said that the man took my innocence. What would you do if you were in my position?

Maybe Demi can take me shopping so I can redecorate. I threw my suitcase on the bed and proceeded to leave it there.

"Charlie! Dinner is ready!" Demi shouted from downstairs. I sighed before exiting my room and went downstairs. I sat down at one of the stools in the kitchen and looked at the sandwich on my plate. It consisted of white bread, ham, lettuce, cheese, and mayonnaise.

"Do I have to eat?" I asked, looking up at Demi.

"Yes, you do." Demi spoke sternly as she sat down with her dinner. She had the same sandwich I did, but she had two while I had one. Demi also had a small salad. I frowned and picked up the sandwich.

'DON'T EAT IT'

'I have to. I can't disappoint Demi.'

'YOU'RE ALREADY A DISAPPOINTMENT TO BEGIN WITH.'

'I can throw it up after I eat.'

'GOOD GIRL'

"Dems?" I looked back up at her after I took a bite of the sandwich and I tried not to gag.

"Hm?" She replied, looking back at me.

"Can we go shopping later this week? I don't like the way my bedroom looks right now." I told her.

"What's wrong with it?" She questioned.

"It's bright pink, Demi." I told her like it was the most obvious reason as Demi took a drink of her smoothie. "It looks like a magical princess fairy came in and sprinkled her magical fairy dust all over it." I stated, causing Demi to immediately laugh and spit out her drink.

"Fuck!" Demi exclaimed after spitting out her drink. "Yeah, we can go shopping soon. How does tomorrow sound after I go to the studio?" Demi got out of her chair, grabbing some paper towels, and cleaning the mess she made.

"Tomorrow sounds good." I answered. "How long will you be at the studio?"

"I don't know yet. You're coming with though." Demi sounded serious. "I don't trust you by yourself." She explained. I nodded as I finished half of the sandwich.

"I'm full, Dems." I whispered.

"You did good, baby girl." Demi smiled as she took the half of the sandwich I didn't finish. She put it in a baggy and stored it in her fridge.

"I need to go finish unpacking." I told Demi, hoping it was a believable excuse. I needed to purge and I can't just say I'm going to the bathroom, or she would be suspicious.

"Okay, I'll be in my bathroom taking a shower if you need me." Demi replied. I gave her a thumbs up before I went upstairs and into the bathroom that's connected to my bedroom. My bathroom also happened to be very pink and girly. Note to self, ask Demi for a bathroom makeover.

- TRIGGER WARNING -

I locked the door and proceeded to turn on the bathtub to block out the noise of me throwing up and I also planned to take a bath after. I kneeled down onto my knees before lifting the toilet lid and sticking two fingers down my throat.

After I got dinner out of my system, I stood up from the toilet and flushed it. I proceeded to turn off the running water from the bathtub. I exited my bathroom, entering my magical princess fairy bedroom. I dug through my suitcase, grabbing a pair of pajamas and my blade. I went back into my bathroom, locking the door once again. I undressed myself and climbed into my bathtub with the blade still in my hand.

Once I got comfortable, I looked at my mutilated wrists and decided to make fresh cuts on my thighs, not wanting to fuck up my wrists more. I added several long cuts to my thighs before I cleaned myself up and got out of my bathtub. Looking at the fresh cuts on my thighs and my bathtub instantly brought me back to when Demi found me in my bathtub back in Texas. My wrists were covered in blood, but that didn't stop her from holding and comforting me.

- FLASHBACK -

I was sitting in my bathroom, sobbing as I looked at the damage I inflicted on my wrists.

'YOU DID GOOD.'

"Charlie?" Demi's muffled quiet voice asked as she knocked on my bedroom door. She knocked one more time before I heard her enter my bedroom. Too bad I wasn't in there. I tried my best to quiet my cries down, but Demi knocked on my bathroom door.

"L-Leave me alone!" I choked out.

"Charlie, let me in!" Demi pleaded. Demi must have figured I wasn't going to let her in because I heard her picking the lock and she proceeded to burst into my bathroom after she got the door unlocked.

"G-Go away!" I let out a strangled sob. Demi looked over and saw me sitting in an empty bathtub, my arms masked with blood.

"Charlie!" Demi exclaimed as she got in the tub with me.

"N-No!" I tried pulling away as Demi examined the cuts on my wrists. There were a lot of them and I didn't want to trigger her. She pulled me into her embrace protectively and ignored the blood that was soaking through her shirt.

"Why, Charlie?" Demi asked, concern lacing her voice. I began crying more, if that was possible, and held onto Demi like she was a lifeline. "Shh.. it's okay, baby girl." Demi cooed as she moved some of my hair behind my ear.

"I-I'm sorry." I choked out as I climbed onto Demi's lap and hid my face against her chest. My breathing began to get uneven and my grip on Demi tightened.

"Breathe, Char." Demi spoke gently as she rubbed circles on my back. "Follow my breathing." She instructed.

"I-I'm really s-sorry." I stuttered and apologized again after I calmed down enough.

"Don't be sorry, baby girl." Demi comforted me and kissed my forehead. "You couldn't help it."

"I.. I mean.. I'm sorry about earlier this morning." I started saying. "I shouldn't have treated you like that when all you wanted to do was help. I'm really sorry." I whimpered.

"You don't have to apologize, Char. Did you forget I was the same way when I was sixteen?" Demi questioned.

- FLASHBACK/TRIGGER WARNING OVER -

I sighed as I began to get dressed in my pajamas.

I put on a long sleeved AC/DC Highway to Hell sweater than was light gray. I then put on My Chemical Romance The Black Parade sweatpants that were black. I then brushed my hair out before I exited my bathroom and into my bedroom. I turned off my light and laid down on my bed before I decided to fall asleep.

DEMI'S POV

I was chilling in the living room, watching crime shows when I realized that it was getting late. Charlie never did come back down. Did she go to bed early? I turned off the TV and proceeded to make my way upstairs.

Before making my way into my room, I decided to check up on Charlie. I quietly opened her door and saw that she was asleep. I closed her door and went into my bedroom. I changed into sweatpants and a t-shirt before I climbed into bed and fell asleep.

—————————————————————

I woke up in the middle of the night to screaming. It took me a moment to realize that the screaming belonged to my baby sister. I jumped out of bed and rushed to Charlie's room. I barged in her room and she was thrashing around in her bed.

"Charlie! Charlie, wake up!" I tried getting her to wake up.

CHARLIE'S POV

- TRIGGER WARNING -

He wouldn't stop punching me. Why did he enjoy hurting me? I did nothing to him. I stayed away from Demi like he told me to. What did I do wrong? Why could no one see that he was hurting me.

"P-Please stop!" I whimpered as every time he punched me, it hurt more than the punch before.

"Why should I?" Wilmer spoke mischievously. "I'm sure Demi would enjoy watching this if she was here." He hit me again.

Demi was still in treatment and he was still coming over almost everyday. Why do my parents let him come over? Do they not see what he was doing to their baby girl?

"I hope you're ready." He smirked as he began to undress himself.

"N-No!" I screamed.

- TRIGGER WARNING OVER -

"Charlie! Charlie, wake up!" I heard Demi's voice panic. I shot up, backing up against the headboard of my bed.

"P-Please stop! Don't hurt me!" I cried out as I tried to protect myself.

"Charlie, it's just me!" Demi tried talking to me over my loud screaming. "Charlie, shh." She sat down on my bed in front of me. She made me look at her before she pulled me into her embrace.

"Dem Dem," I choked out as I wrapped my arms around her neck and hid my face. "Please don't let him hurt me.." I whispered.

"Don't let who hurt you?" Demi asked quietly, rubbing my back.

"I.. I can't say.." I replied, realizing I messed up by telling her not to let him hurt me. She can't know that he hurt me. No one can.

"Well," Demi laid down on my bed with me. She was still holding me in her arms. "I won't let anyone hurt you, baby girl." She spoke comfortingly. She proceeded to quietly hum, helping me fall back asleep.

A/N: Sorry if this chapter might be over the place.
