Trinity looked like she was about to throw up while Max showed no emotion and Jake, once again, was holding back a laugh.
With a snicker Jake said, "They may have said it tastes good, but they never said anything about it being pretty, did they?"
"How am I supposed to put this in my mouth?" Alex said. His face full of hatred of the thing in his hand. His hand was slowly sagging under the weight of it and slowly going in the opposite direction of him, his subconsciousness moving him away from the slimy ball of dough.
"Taste some. Although it looks gross, if you put some in your mouth and chew it, you might just change your mind about the product. If you think about a flavor or something that is food while you're chewing it, the gum will begin to taste like it. Try it!" Jake said.
Alex hesitantly pulled a chunk off of the greasy ball. Unlike what he had expected, it broke off like a cheese stick would rather than stretch out like slime.
Alex forced himself and put it on his tongue. He began to chew. He began thinking of regular gums and their flavors. Mint, watermelon, bubblegum, and his all time favorite, blue raspberry. Every time he thought of a new flavor, the gum would taste like it. He began to think of things people would never taste in ordinary gum. Like turkey, lemon pies, cupcakes and cheese.
They all tasted amazing! Well, maybe except for the cheese. For some reason that one tasted like it was expired or something.
Jake began looking around and then said "Eww! Did somebody take off their shoes? It smells like feet in here!" Jake made a disgusted face. Confused, Alex looked up at Jake and though, Feet? Why would somebody take off their-
Alex began to gag.
Jake laughed hysterically.
Everyone else looked confused.
"Ugh! You-" Alex said as he spit his gum on the floor. "What the heck dude! That was messed up!" Alex angrily said. He walked up to the trash can and began to spit.
"What happened?" The other asked.
"I was talking about shoes and feet while he was chewing the flavor changing Molding Gum." Jake explained. "So, when I started talking about feet, Alex began thinking about what I was saying, therefore, causing his gum to taste like feet." Jake began laughing again as he recalled his prank.
Alex walked back and sat down in his seat. He picked up the ball and took off another section. Put it in his mouth and began to imagine a lemon. Jake Roo, I will get you back for this! Alex promised himself angrily.
Luckily, the lemon flavored gum had taken his mind off shoes and feet and took away the bad taste in his mouth and replaced it with the tart sensation of lemons.
As Alex scowled at Jake, they all pretended not to notice. "Ok! Who is next?" Jake said excitedly. He clapped his hands and looked around the room expectantly.
"I will!" Sarah said happily.
"Ok! Do you remember what to do with it Sarah?" Jake asked.
"Yes sir!" Sarah replied. She threw the bag onto the ground. She threw it harder then Alex did and much softer than Max. Because she threw it with a bit of force, she didn't have to step on it like Alex did. After the same glow that the other bag's also had, she picked it up and tore it open.
She reached her hand inside and pulled out a bubbling blue potion. Unlike soda pop, the bubbles that the potion contained were huge! Each bubble was the side of her thumbnail! She swirled the potion around a pit. Holding it by the neck of the bottle, the base of it formed a large, round sphere out. It looks like a classic potion bottle from the movies.
The potion looked like it was out of a movie as well. Sarah felt like this potion would have come from a witch's cauldron. The haggard old witch with green skin and a warty nose. She could perfectly picture the witch standing before her big, black cauldron, mixing the potion together, white steam coming from it, poring over the sides while the witch stood over it, cackling madly.
"Sarah," Jake said, tearing Sarah out of her imagination. "I know what you're thinking, but, the people who create these potions actually look normal, just like you and me. They use test tubes or their power to create them. Not at all like the people in the movies." Jake explained with an eye roll. Humans, Jake thought, their heads have been filled with so much nonsense.
Sarah nodded her head. She uncorked the potion and smelled it. To her surprise, it smelt of nothing.
She put the cork back inside the opening of the bottle and tucked it back inside her Iris bag for safe keeping.
"Ok! That one was a success! Who's next?" Jake asked.
"I am." Trinity said. Her voice was barely louder than a whisper. She never seemed to raise her voice any higher than that. She was obviously very shy, she seemed to look as if all she wanted was to blend into the background. I wonder why, Sarah thought to herself.
Trinity set her bag down on the floor and gave it a light stop. How was this possible? Even when Trinity was stomping on a bag, she still did it gently and with grace. Trinity's bag emitted a golden light, just like the others had. She picked the bag up off the floor, and took a peek inside.
The flower was… purple? How odd. The thing that Trinity had ordered, had shown a picture of a blue flower on a reddish-green stem. But this flower had only one flower with a pure green stem. Had they messed up her order?
Trinity grabbed the flower gently by the stem and held it up to Jake with a questioning look in her eyes. "I ordered the Hydrating Hyacinth flower, but instead, I received this."
Jake stared at the flower for a moment. "Wow Trinity." Jake said, "You sure are lucky."
