Sarah collected herself and walked into a room. She had chosen the purple room. She noticed her suitcase in the corner of the room. She began to unpack when she realized something. Why had they known she would pick this room? She actually hadn't chosen it because it was purple. She had chosen it because it was the one closest to her. To be honest, her favorite color was green, and probably would have preferred that room.
She pushed away her thoughts and unpacked her things. After 5 minutes, she was done. She sat on the bed and layed on her back, staring up at the glass ceiling. She sighed and turned her head, taking a look around her room. The first thing she noticed that was out of the ordinary was the walkie-talkie sitting on her nightstand. Her nightstand was simple. A few books sat in a pile and a white lamp stood with a purple lamp shade. In front of it, there were 5 walkie-talkies.
She reached over and grabbed one. It was a plain and simple looking thing. Across the front, there was a piece of masking tape. It had Max' name on it. On the side there were two buttons. On said speak and the other sync. She pressed the speak button and hesitantly said, "Hello?"
Across the room, Max was in the blue room. He was startled to hear Sarah's voce. He walked over to the device and picked up the one with Sarah's name on it."Sarah?" Max asked.
"Oh, hi! There was a walkie-talkie on my nightstand with your name on it. Actually, there are 5. One for You, Alex and Trinity. Another for Jake and one more labeled guide. Do you have them too?" She asked.
"Yes, I have the exact same ones. All labeled with making tape." Max said as he picked up another one and looked at it. This one said guide.
"What are we supposed to do with them tho?" Sarah asked.
"Not sure. I'll try the one that says Jake on it. If he answers then I will ask. I can hold the speak button so that you will be able to hear if he says anything." Max replied.
"Ok, thanks Max." Sarah said.
Max pressed the speak button on the side of the one labeled Sarah, he slid the silver clasp onto it to hold it in place, making it so he could talk to her without having to press the button for so long. Before he asked Jake, he said, "Remember, I won't be able to hear what you say because I will have the button pressed down." max said. He looked out the wall to see Sarah across the room, in her own stall. She smiled and gave him a thumbs up. Max nodded and clicked the speak button on the one labeled Jake.
"This is Max, I have a question." He said.
Jake picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "What can I help you with Max?"
"I was wondering what we were supposed to do with these?" He asked.
"Well Max, this is so you can talk to the others. You have access to me, your guide and your peers. You can use them whenever you want." Jake explained. "I did say that you would be in separate rooms, so that limits the ability to socialize with others. It will also be nice too if you have something you need to work on with another like a project or if you forget what time class training starts. You may not get to talk with your family while you're here, but you can talk to the people you are here with."
"What is a guide?" Max asked.
"Your guide will be the one that you will do personal training with." Jake explained, "Your guide will be the servant or maid that brought you to this room. They will help you to develop your godly powers, learn how to prevent them from going wild and how to control them. They will teach you how to use it to your advantage." Jake said.
"Oh ok. What does the sync button do then Max inquired.
"The sync button is so you can talk to multiple people at a time. If you speak to more than one person at a time, you will be able to hear then and speak to them at the same time because it will automatically register when your talking and you will be able to hear the voice of the people you are talking to through their walkie talkies, kind of an echo effect." Jake said.
Jake did not answer, but Max didn't mind. He put down Jake's contact and undid the clasp holding down the speak button on Sarah's.
"So… these are basically for us to not become lonely?" Sarah said with a laugh.
"Yea, I guess so. At least this is better than nothing tho. Right? I would rather be able to talk to somebody then nobody." Max commented.
"Yea that is so true." Sarah said with a laugh. Then, she remembered something. "Max, does Vanessa know that you are a prince?"
Max hesitated. He did not want to have this conversation. "...Well, we are not sure. We know that she has fact of us being related to the royal family, but we are pretty sure that she doesn't know our exact position. In exchange for her silence, she requested to become my girlfriend. We had no choice. We could only comply. I mean, it's not that bad tho. I only just have to deal with Vanessa for a while, give her the girlfriend label until she gets sick of me, and then she leaves. Simple." Max concluded.
"Do you actually even like her then…" Sarah asked hesitantly. Max had always avoided this subject. "And if not her, you have to tell me who you do like." Sarah stated.
After a moment, Max hesitantly said, "Well, you see… I actually-"
"Hellooooo demigods!"
