"As I was Saying." Jake said as he gave Alex a death stare. "To get more of the tickets, you can access the online store. To get to the store, you can use your debit cards. If you look on your cards, you will see a purple square in the upper right hand corner. Press it. A pop up will show in front of you that is only for your viewing. There will be 3 choices that pop up. You can choose one of the following."
"One option says public viewing. If you press this, the online store will pop up. But, everyone will be able to see it. Including average humans. Now, if a human were to see it, they would not react well, human technology is nothing compared to that of the gods. Therefore, you can not open the online store in the presence of average mortals, only demigods or other divine beings."
"Option two says private viewing. This one is the better choice if in the presence of humans. Although, when you go to click things, people will just see you tapping at the air, which might look a bit weird or raise suspicion. Therefore, you should just never open the online store in the presence of humans." Jake finished.
"How do we buy things from the store?" Max asked. "Like, do we pay with dollar's? Or do we have to fulfill tasks?"
"There are many ways to pay for things in the online store. The most used way is with coins. You can use the provided golden Drachma to buy things. If and when you run out of money, you can do tasks or sell things to earn some more."
"Things like medicine can be obtained through purchasing with money, but sometimes, you need to buy or find special ingredients to make it. The info of the thing that you want to buy will be provided. It will state the ingredients list, the price, the name of the item, a picture of the item, how to use the item, power level, and duration of use if it has one."
"I know that this may all sound confusing, so, I would like each of you to take out your debit cards and press the purple button. Also, from now on, I will be calling it the Iris card."
"Iris card? That's a stupid name." Alex said. "Who would name an online store after an eyeball?"
"No one." Jake said coldly "It is named after the Greek goddess Iris. She is a messenger of the gods and goddesses. She also is the goddess of rainbows. She owns the online store, Iris, and runs the most commonly used means of divine communication, the Prism System."
"Prism System? What's that?" Sarah asked.
"The Prism System is a platform of video calls. A Lot like the video calls that humans have on their cell phones, The Prism System can be accessed by purchasing a Iris Prism. You can call anyone with an Iris Prism, as long as they own one themselves. After your one month stay here, I strongly recommend that you purchase one to stay in touch with your fellow GSPD members." Jake explained.
Everybody took out the debit or rather, Iris cards, and looked at them. They were blue with a rainbow across the top middle with an eyeball made of an oval and two circles sat on the middle of the circle. In the bottom right hand corner their names were on it. In the upper left hand corner, a medium sized white square box sat empty. In the upper right corner, there was a small purple square. Sarah pressed it and two clear boxes popped up. They had a blue trim and the words were inside, over top of a slightly blurred background.
Sarah looked at the options. Just like Jake had said, one box said public view and the other said private view. Above the public viewing box, there was a small box on the left side. It was much smaller than the others. Sarah leaned forward to get a better look. Just like the others, it had a blurred surface with a blue trim. Inside of the box was, instead of letters, symbols. Sarah thought she saw a mountain symbol. Next to it, there was a golden star. Next to the star was the number 12.
She lifted her head up to see if the others had noticed it but everyone was tapping at the air, completely focused on themselves and the Iris store in front of them. She looked over at Jake. He was studying her very carefully. "Jake?" Sarah said to get his attention.
"Yes Sarah?" he said politely, meeting her eyes.
"What does the third option mean?" She asked.
When she said that, everybody looked up at her with confusion. Everyone except for the guides and Jake.
"I was waiting to see who had the sharp eyes and patience. Sarah, tell me. What do you see?" Jake said.
Sarah looked back down at her screen. She told him, "I see a mountain symbol, a star and a number."
She looked back up to Jake and she just saw a confused look in his eyes. "A star? Does this star happen to have an arrow pointing to the upper right or a line with a dot in the middle? Or perhaps it is pointing to the bottom left corner." Jake said curiously.
Sarah looked back down at the symbol. She hadn't noticed it before, but her star did indeed have a line through the middle. This line in particular had an arrow tip pointing to the top right. She told Jake what she saw. His eyes widened slightly. "Ow Sarah, do tell me the number that you see." Jake encouraged.
"I see the number 12." Sarah answered.
"12? Well young one, you are one lucky and powerful demigod." Jake responded.
"How do you know that?" Sarah asked. "What does the number 12 even mean?"
