"Uh… ok then. Well I-'' She cleared her throat and started again, this time loud and clear. "I was wondering if you knew who our godly parents were."
Now, it was Jake's turn to be embarrassed. He pulled at the collar of his shirt and his face turned slightly red. He gave an embarrassed cough and said, "I apologize but… no. We can not tell you, because… uhh I lost the documents stating your devine relations. We only have a list of the gods that could possibly be your parents. We have to wait until your powers are activated to find out. If they activate.
"YOU WHAT!!!" Alex said. He stood up in fury.
"You lost such an important document! How could you do that?!" Alex yelled.
"It wasn't on purpose. You think I wanted to lose them? We had to raise the amount of money spent on training supplies to be prepared for all of the different types of demigods? The amount of money that it took is just outrageous!" Jake yelled back, equally as loud as Alex was being.
Alex sat back down with a "Hmph". Sarah said "Could you tell us who is on the list then?"
"Sure, just let me go and get the list." Jake said. He walked other the corner to Sarah's Left shoulder, on the right to the huge door. He filed through a desk drawer. Paper rustled around. "Here it is!" Jake said proudly holding up the paper over his head. He walked over to them. When he sat down in his chair he unfolded the paper, flipped two pages and began to read.
"Males; Ares, Apollo, Dionysus, Eros, Hermes.
Females; Aphrodite, Artemis, Demeter, Nike." Jake listed them off. "Basically, that narrows down the possibilities by categories. If your blood parent is female, then your godly parent will be male. If your blood parent is male, then your divine parent is female."
"But that still leaves a lot of possibilities." max said.
"Yes, we won't know until your powers develop." Jake responded.
"Well, I can help to take one of the god's off the male list." Sarah said cooly.
"What! How?" Jake asked incredulously.
"Well, first, you need to tell me what god causes their half blood children to shoot freaking sparks from their hands." Sarah said dryly. "Because early this morning, During my spectacular moment of rage, I went to hit Max in the head with a shoe when, for some reason, a spar. Yes, a spark. Flew out of my left palm." Sarah said. The memories of that morning coming flooding back.
The room went deadly silent. "Sparks. From your hand." Jake said. His response reminded Sarah of how Jenny had reacted when they had told her about it.
"Yes. Sparks, from my hand. I don't know if it has happened again because of the gloves. Max's mom gave me a pair of bullet proof, water resistant, fireproof, medical assisting-something or other gloves. I have had them on ever sense. So, you said we each have different godly parents, right? If we just figure out who mine is now, that leaves only 4 more on the male list." Sarah explained.
Jake looked a bit startled. He pulled out another piece of paper from his left hand jean pocket. He unfolded it and began to read. His eyes scanned the paper over multiple times. He glanced back up at Sarah and then read over the paper again. "Wait. When did you say your birthday is again? Because this paper says that it is tomorrow." Jake asked, very confused. Her powers shouldn't have come until tomorrow, if they did at all.
"I didn't say. But yes, my birthday is tomorrow." Sarah responded calmly.
"But your power's came today?" Jake asked.
"Yes. That is what I have been trying to tell you." Sarah said, getting slightly annoyed.
"Well ten, we have both good news and bad news." Jake said. Now he was addressing the group as a whole. "Good news first. Because of this new information provided by Sarah. We now know that when your birthday comes, you will not die also, your powers will not disappear, in fact, they seem to be more powerful than the average demigod. Bad news, however, is that the god of the forge, Hephaestus, is not of the list. He would be the one that you would inherit sparks or, rater, fire from. No other god on this list, could give you that power." Jake said.
"So… We're not going to die on our birthdays?" Alex asked.
"Correct. Although now, we have no way to predict your demigod powers. Because if all of you have the same result as Sarah, then your powers could be anything. Even if your godly parent doesn't have that exact power." Jake explained.
"I was wondering, in the letter, you gave us a ticket and a debit card. What are those for?" Max asked.
"Oh yes, nearly forgot all about those. So, the ticket can be used for when you need to make a difficult decision. When choosing between multiple options, you can choose to go with your gut, or, you can choose to rip open your ticket. When you do so, a message made of rainbows from the goddess Iris, will appear before you. The message will tell you what decision to make, or it will give you a message or item that will lead you to make the right decision."
"You each have one of these tickets. Use them wisely. You can always buy more but they are very expensive." Jake explained.
"How do we buy more?" Alex said.
"Well Alex, I was just about to explain that but you decided to interrupt once more. Maybe I really should ask Trinity to give you etiquette lesions." Jake Roo said coldly.
Oh! So that was the other girl's name. Sarah thought to herself. Trinity. Sarah glanced over to look at the other girl and saw that her face was slightly red and her head was lowered. Before Sarah could look longer, Jake had started to talk once more.
