"I was wondering if you could change the fate of a few demigods for me..." said Zeus
He looked up at the sisters, they all had the same look, annoyed.
"I have a butler here with their information, I was wonder-" Zeus was suddenly cut off
"Why would we help you with this matter? We have our own work to do." Said the second sister
Zeus was astonished! Nobody had ever dared to talk to him like that before but he swallowed both his pride and anger down as he knew the fates were more powerful than him.
Clearing his throat again he looked at them as they all tilted their heads to an angle. They reminded him of creepy china dolls coming to life.
"I need you to do this for me, I do not need to tell you why, I am willing to pay the price." He replied in what he hoped was a confident voice.
The sisters got up, Clotho walked behind him, put her small little hands on his shoulder and whispered "Are you sure you will pay the price? We haven't even told you what the cost is yet."
He shivered, a tingle down his spine. Clotho may look like a little girl but she was very intimidating nonetheless.
"Yes, I am willing" He said
"4 demigods... 3 full fate changes and one death change... that makes 3 payments to Clotho, 3 Payments to Lachesis and 4 to myself and then one large payment to us all." said Atropos "That's a lot of payment, can you really afford it? Are you sure that this is the fate you want to change?" Said Lachesis "You could change anybody's fate with this fortune you are giving us, why them? Why these 4 demigods?" They whispered in usion, the words coming out of their mouths as you would imagine a snake would if it could talk.
I haven't even told them what I wanted yet! How would they know the exact demigod's that I want changed? Well, they are the fates after all, maybe they predicted this Zeus thought to himself.
"That is for me to know! It is none of your concern!" Boomed Zeus
"Oh but it is" Said Lachesis
"If we change the fate of a single demigod on this list, it will effect your fate, Hera's fate, Hades's fate, Artemis's fate, Human fate, it will change fate itself" Said Atropos
"I said that I am willing to pay the price!" Said Zeus, his voice thundering around the circular wall and dome selling, a thunderstorm went up ahead, a lightning bolt struck across the sky, a loud 'crack!' could be heard even through the thick walls.
"But we haven't even told you the price yet" Said Clotho
"Then what is it? It's just a few demigods!"
The price... It couldn't be that bad, could it?
"that would be 4,400 Mina" Said Lachesis
140,040,000 Golden Drachmas?! Thought Zeus
"And a favor." Stated Lachesis
"A favor! What kind of favor?" Said Zeus
"As you said, that is for us to know and for you to find out" Sneered Atropos
"Favor... Fine! But you can not can not injure me in any way! No deforming me either!" Zeus shouted
"oh! I see we're making requests now, are we sure that you're in the position to be making requests?" Said Clotho
"No, this is a condition to our deal, not a request, I won't sign on it unless these conditions are a part of the contract!" The God replied
"Conditions? then we raise our price! for every condition you make, the amount of favors you owe us grows by 1. You included 2 conditions, you owe us 3 favors, how about this, you owe each sister 1 favor? Deal?" Said Atropos
"Deal!" said the king
"Well then, let's have a contract" Said Clotho
"Butler! Bring me a scroll, a feather and a pot of ink!" Shouted Zeus to the nearest butler
"Yes your majesty" He bowed deeply and left, quickly returning with the things the king had requested of him and set them down before him on a large mahogany desk. He bowed deeply and scurried back to his position in the room.
Zeus dipped the Scroll into the ink and wrote
I, Zeus, God of the Sky, King of all gods, protector of all humans and gods, give the three fates a total of 4,400 Mina in the form of Golden Drachma (144,040,000 Golden Drachma) and 3 favors upon the following conditions...
1. The fate of the following demi-god's will be changed to my liking,
{Sarah Caroline Benson, Daughter of Ares} {Mathew Conner Trell, Son of Aphrodite} {Trinity Layla Fawn, Daughter of Demeter} {Doug Fredrick Carlos, Son of Dionysus}
2. When a favor is in use, you may not injure or deform me in any shape or form
3. Conditions may be made to this contract agreement, per each condition added from party A or party B, a favor will be owed to the other party
Party A: Zeus, god of the sky and king of all
Party B: Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos Moirai Fate
-------------
Zeus knew that signing a contract with the fates was extremely foolish, especially an open ended one, but what else was he to do? There was no other option. He set down the feather and gently blew on the scroll to make it dry quickly and signed his name one the bottom exit to 'Party A Signature' and passed over the scroll to the fates.
With ought even reading it, they signed it in turn and passed it back.
"The orb my lord" Said a squat man standing before him in a butter uniform.
Zeus waved him over and the butler set it on the desk and walked away
They each reached out and placed their pointer and middle finger of their left hand out to touch the orb and then put their pointer and middle finger of their right hand over their hearts.
They all took turns saying their vows to abide by the contract
"I, Clotho Moirai, Fate or birth, weaver of the thread of life, hereby agree to the full terms of this contract and its included conditions."
"I, Lachesis Moirai, Measure of the thread of life, chooser of the path of fate, hereby agree to the full terms of this contract and its included conditions."
"I, Atropos Moirai, decider of death, cutter of the thread of life, hereby agree to the full terms of this contract and its included conditions."
"I, Zeus, God of the sky, King of all gods and goddesses alike, protector of all mortal and immortal beings, hereby agree to the full term of this contract and its conditions"
In usion they said "failure to fulfill this contract will result in death."
The orb began to glow a bright golden light, shooting up through their arms and to their hearts, their vanes began to glow, gold pulsed beneath there skin, the contract began to rise, also encased in the golden light, it began to shimmer and then a light so bright that it was blinding appeared, forcing everyone to close their eye and look away, finally when the light was gone they looked back, the contract had disappeared.
"I hope you made the right choice" the sisters suddenly said. Zeus whipped around to see them but all that was left was their tea cups, each sitting on the desk.
The only sign that they were even here was the fact that the teacups were now empty.
