They walked out of the room and Max sat down at the table with Sarah at his heels. Together they opened the red letter first.

Max and Sarah tentatively opened the red letters, being careful not to ruin the wax seal on the outside of the enveloppe, on the other-side of the enveloppe, instead of an address there was just their names with a gold stamp that said 'verified', meaning that the postal service had not delivered it.
On the inside of the envelope there were 3 things, a letter, a ticket and a debit card, Sarah picked up the letter to read it first...

Dear Demigod,
If you are receiving this letter then that means it is nearly your 16th birthday.
I am sure you have many questions and I hope that the contents of this letter will clear some things up for you.
Most demigods gain their godly powers at birth but you and 5 others were chosen as test subjects for a special device called GSPD or also known as The Godly Skill Protection Device. This device consists of thousands of small micro-beads that are inserted into your seconds after birth, therefore there is no way for you to remove it from your body.
The GSPD pauses your divine skills until you reach the age of 16, because you had no use of your powers until a later age, the divine essence that makes them build up and your max power will be increased. You can compare this to a savings account, if you add a penny to a savings account every day, for 16 years and never use any of it, the amount of money would be much greater then if you had used some of the money you had saved.
Both your power level, skill level and stored divine essence has increased. If the experiment proves successful then you and the 4 others chosen for this will have more potential and a greater amount of power, if unsuccessful then you 5 will die.

After reading the last part Sarah jerked her head up and looked at Max with bewildered eyes. Max didn't even notice because he was looking astound at his own letter so Sarah just silently lowered her head to read more.

Each of you has a different divine parent as we wanted to see if a difference in gods affected the results of the GSPD. When your 16th birthday approaches, I recommend putting yourself into a bullet proof, fireproof, water resistant room by yourself as we do not know if you will need to learn your powers or it is possible that there has been so much divine essence built into you that it will just come pouring out and you may lose control over your divine gifts.
By the end of this month all 5 of you will have your divine gifts unlocked, you are to go to the capital ball, if you are stopped at the entrance because you are not on the guest list tell them you have a password.
Password: GSPD-TS3 This stands for Godly Skill Protector Device, Test Subject 3
You will immediately be let inside.
Once you are inside the palace, look at the servers, there will be 5 servers who have on a purple wristband, approach them by yourself and tell them your pass code. They will then tell you their name, my name and their own pass code.
Password: GSPDG This stands for Godly Skill Protection Device Guardian
I trust that you will memorize both pass codes and never tell anyone what they mean until we give you permission to do so. If a server does not tell you their password or if the password is incorrect, do not follow them, instead turn around and say you have the wrong person and quickly find one server with a purple wristband that knows it.
When you find them, they will lead you to a door with the letters GSPD engraved on it. Inside there will be your fellow GSPD 1-5, myself and a few things necessary for what we're going to talk about.
Also, we have included a ticket, a debit card and 6 golden Drachma for you. The ticket is something that you will need to bring with you for the ball, I trust that you will not lose it as you will find unfortunate things will happen if you misplace it.
The debit card you will also want to keep safe, nothing will happen to you if you lose it but you will find things much easier if you have it, this card is locked and will be unlocked when we meet at the palace.
The 6 Golden Drachmas are to keep for later, do not lose these, it is quite hard for demigods to come about them and things will be much more difficult if you disregard them.
If you do not come to the palace for the ball, we will hunt you down and strip you of your divine powers, status and memories.

Sarah let out a pent up breath she hadn't even realized she was holding and said
"Now I understand why mother was worried she may never see me again."
"Yea" Max breathed and said "Well look on the bright side!"
"There is a bright side to this?" Sarah said confused
"Of course," Max looked at her with a soft smile and said "At least we have each other"
Sarah gave him a slight smile back and said "Yes, yes we do."
