"Zeus said he wants fate to be changed right here. Get me my scissors." Said Atropos
"Are we sure we want to change the fate?" Said Clotho as she handed her the scissors
"Yes, we can't go back on our deal after all" Said Lachesis as she stretched out the string of fate
Atropos reached out to the string with her scissors

Ring...Ring...Ring...
Sarah stirred, still half asleep she reached over and noticed her mom was calling her so she slid the little green phone icon and answered "hello"
"Hello, what is your relation to this caller?" Said an unfamiliar Male voice, in the background Sarah could hear sirens and shouting.
She suddenly sat up in bed, this time fully awake and hurriedly answered "daughter, i'm her daughter"
"Well Ms., I'm sorry to tell you this but when your mother was driving, she was rear-ended, causing a car crash. I apologize for calling you this late at night but the crash seemed to take place about 15 minutes after your phone call, the voicemail was read as well." Said the mysterious voice
Sarah was speechless until she had suddenly busted out and said "Is she ok?"
"No, your mother is on the way to a hospital, she is in critical condition, she might not make it."
"No!" Sarah blubbered, tears streaming down her face "Mom! You can't leave us!"
"Ma'am, we need to know a few things about you and your mother so we can place her in the hospital, try to calm down and speak clearly, stay strong for your mother."
Sarah shook her head and stopped her tears and then she realized had already asked her a question so she said "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"I said what is your mothers full name?"
"Janet Mika Benson"
"Her age?"
"38"
"Health Insurance Company Name?"
"Heart Health Insurance"
"Ok, thank you, we will take down your phone number and contact you once your mother reaches the hospital, will you be available?"
"I'm going to the capital in the morning so I will be available until then"
"Is there anyway that you could cancel this trip?"
"No, if it were any other trip I could but if I miss it then..." Sarah stopped talking, afraid to say to much"
"Ok well, is there anyone else who we could have a contact number taken down for? To reach if we need someone who is close by? Her husband perhaps and elder sibling or a grandparent? Aunt? Uncle?"
"My mother is unmarried, I have no older siblings, my grandparents live in a different country and my mom has no siblings."
"Well then, who are your godparents?"
"The Fredricksons but they are the ones who will be taking me on this trip so they won't be around either"
"Oh, well... Can you think of anyone else?
"Not right now but give me a little bit and i'll think of somebody to give you"
"Ok, please don't forget"
"don't worry, I won't." and then Sarah hung up.
She started to cry again and then made herself stop 'I must be strong for Mom and Lily!' Sarah said to herself. Suddenly Sarah remembered just that! Lily! She might have woken up when she heard Sarah on the phone or when she was crying.
Sarah silently climbed out of bed and creeped to the door, quickly swinging it open to avoid creaking, deliberately stepping over the part that was just inside of her doorway because it was terribly loud when stepped on at night. She tentatively opened the door a crack to peer at Lily and saw her steady, heavy breathing and Sarah took a sigh of relief as she eased it shut again.
Walking over to the kitchen table and talking to herself again she said "I have to find somebody who will go to the hospital for mom if necessary. But who? Lily and I are her only family and with myself gone for the trip that leaves LIly to.. Oh no! Where would Lily stay?!"
Sarah had to find a place for Lily to stay while she was gone, first she called Max, to see if taking Lily with them would be an option.
Ring...Ring...Ring…
"Hello…" Said a groggy voice on the other side of the phone
"Max! Can Lily come with us to the capitol?"
"What why?"
"My mom can't take care of her while we are away, she got into a terrible car crash and is in the hospital."
"Oh no! That's not good! But no, I'm sorry but Lily can't come, there isn't enough room in the car for Lily to be in there with us, along with our luggage and hers too. Sarah i'm really sorry…"
"That's alright Max, I still have to go on the trip anyways, I will figure something out, sorry for waking you up!"
"Hey, it's ok, do you want me to come over? We can figure this out together!"
Sarah was tempted but she knew she should say no, she was truly freaking out and was scared, she wanted Max to help her but he should be sleeping, this wasn't his problem.
"No, that's ok! I've got this, go back to sleep now"
"Oh, alright… I know this might not seem important now but don't forget to pack, including the things from the letter, ok? You should do that now, before anything else because knowing you, you will forget all about packing"
"Your right! I already forgot! Thanks Max, goodnight"
"Goodnight Sarah."
They hung up and Sarah but her head on the cool table, trying to calm herself down so she could think more clearly. I should go and pack first, like Max said and think about this while I do so.
Sarah got up and went to her room to pack, she grabbed the dress first, although the dress was a bright pink, it was actually quite beautiful with it's delicate features and it complimented Sarah's curves, green eyes and sharp chin well.
She carefully put it into her suitcase and laid a few t-shirts and hoodies on top, along with her favorite type of pants, yoga pants, she packed 7 pairs of them, even though she knew she wasn't going to even be there long enough to wear them all.
She then packed her shoes she would take to the ball and anything else she could think of that she might need like an extra phone charger, some snacks and 60 dollars, Sarah wanted to bring Lily back a souvenir.
By the time Sarah was done packing up her things she had reached a decision about where to send Lily and who to give as an emergency contact to the hospital worker when she got a phone call.
"Hello?" Said Sarah
"Hello, this is Fenfeild Hospital, can I please speak to a Ms. Sarah Benson?" Said a friendly female voice
"Speaking" Sarah replied
"Why, hello Ms. Benson, I am calling to let you know that your mother, Janet Benson, has been admitted to the hospital and is in the critical condition unit and her condition has had one vital change and though you would like to know."
"What happened?"
"Your mother has fallen into a very deep coma."
"When will she wake up!?"
"We do not know, she may wake up tomorrow or she could never wake up…"
