In order to catch the crook red-handed we had to set up a trap at the untouched crop farms that were left. It won't be long before night time falls, everything was ready to catch a thief. "Your Majesty, you should get some rest. The rest of us will keep watch and let you know if anything happens." Count Rodger says. Sleep does sound heavenly right now, but I just couldn't do that with how stressed I was. "No, it's fine. Thank you for worrying about me." I tell him. He nods before heading over to where the others were keeping watch for any suspicious people. So far nothing was happening, there were no signs of crop theives.
Could it be that their plans were suddenly found out? It was pitched black and people were starting to fall asleep, even I couldn't keep my eyes open. The sound of flapping wings got my attention, even though the sound was light, kind of like a wind blowing. I could still hear it. I glance around the room where everyone else had been drifting to sleep, they were now wide awake. I wasn't the only one who heard it. Count Rodger was at the doorway of the building we were laying low in, "what the hell is that?" Sir Emick whispers as he comes up beside Count Rodger. "Don't know, but it doesn't seem to be far. And it didn't sound human." He says.
He's right, it sounded like a monster. We searched the skies until one of the farmer's noticed something flying nearby, "what is that over there?" He asked pointing. I saw it, and the monster was not one I've seen before, and not only that, it must have come from Eastern City. But the last time I went to Eastern City there was no sights of anything that moved. "We need to lure that thing to the trap." Sir Timothy says as the rest gathered by the doorway. "And again, what the hell is that?" Sir Emick says. I turn away, "the trap won't work." I mutter. They all look at me, "now that I think about it, the Queen's right. We made a trap assuming we was dealing with a human." Miss Fringe agrees.
We all look at each other, it means we have to replan on how to take down that medium sized monster flying around. "What are we going to do, none of us have the ability to take that thing down?" Miss Emily says. They all looked at her as if she had gone completely blind, "speak for yourself. Did you not see our Almight Queen standing her?" Sir Emick asked with a frown. Miss Emily blushes, "but why would we ask our ruler to do something this dangerous?" She asked. If I went out there I'd be going out without any knowlede of the flying monster, but I would be fine if I used my second sight. I can tell how strong someone or something really is just by looking, but it won't tell me it's weakness.
That will become a problem even if the monster is weak, but that means I'll have to just cut everywhere to find the weakness. Well then, I'm used to the unknown, that is what makes me stronger. "You guys stay safe here, Count Rodger and I will take down the monster." I say. They nod as Count Rodger and I make our way out the entrance, "since it's in the sky, we will have to coax it to us." I tell him. The monster doesn't notice us there at first, but the closer we got the more aware it became. It screeches real loudly and dives towards us, "looks like that won't be a problem." He says as he draws his sword and I bring forth my light magic.
The monster dives down several times attacking with it's claws. Thankfully they were able to block these attacks as much as possible. It's huge wings were a problem though, as it's flaps were quite powerful. So far they haven't gotten anywhere with the monster, it was more difficult to even get a wound on it's body. The monster had a ironclad defense that even had her impressed. Count Rodger was hunched over from exhaustion, it's been a least an hour since dealing with this thing. "What the hell are we going to do?" He asked looking over at me. I was completely stuck, I mean everything would be much easier if I knew what this monster was. To think none of the people here seen it before.
"I got nothing, this is more difficult than I though." I admitted. As a Queen having to say those words was a bit embarrassing but I know that it does not make me any less than a ruler. "Um, Your Highness. Perhaps I could be of help?" A person hiding behind a haybale suddenly stepped into the open. I haven't seen him among the people here before. "Who are you?" I asked. The man bows but he looked like a coward, "I'm Patrick Smock, Your Highness." He says.
