Lyza'a POV
I tried to find Jordan but there were just too many people so I gave up and decided to text her before Castion found me again. I can't believe that just happened. If I didn't stop when I did I don't know how far I would have gone. This is so weird. I gotta get home fast. I rushed into the house. I knew Aunt Val should be home by now. Maybe she has some answer as to why I feel this way towards Castion.
I went down the stairs that lead to the basement. Aunt Val was a bit old fashioned and still liked to sleep underground. This wasn't an ordinary basement. She had the whole bottom level turned into her personal area. There was a living room area, a kitchenette, her bedroom and a bathroom. No one was allowed down here except for family and only a select few then.
When you reached the bottom there was another door. Soon as my foot touched the last step the door opened. I stepped through looking for Aunt Val. "Im in here," she called out, "I'll be out in a moment." I stretched out on her plush tan fur rug in front of the fireplace. I was lost in thought staring at the fire when she came out of her bedroom. She went to the kitchenette to grab us some O2 negative.
"Aunt Val, I need to talk to you about something that happened to me tonight." I could see the worry that was forming on her face. "Nothing bad before you think that." I could see the "O" expression on her face so I continued.
"At school today, I met this boy." Her eyebrows rose with a questioning look. I explained the whole embarrassing story about how I thought he was a stalker and how he was actually in my class and how I had to share a book with him. Aunt Val could barely contain her laughter.
"Don't laugh, I was so embarrassed. For some reason I felt this pull towards him. And then I saw him AGAIN, tonight at the party. I thought I was gonna rip his clothes off." At this auntie's expression sobered up.
"Now niece, tell me exactly what you felt."
"Well, when I first saw him I thought he was attractive and sitting next to him in class I wanted to get closer but I ignored it. But tonight when we kissed I felt completely on fire. The thought of accidentally releasing some power was the only thing that pulled me back from doing something that I wouldn't normally do." I felt a little embarrassed to be telling this to my aunt.
She sat there silent for what seemed like forever. She got up and went to her room. I just sat there sipping on my drink. You couldn't rush Aunt Val. I never knew a person who was as patient as her. Finally she came back out with an amulet.
"Take this with you to school tomorrow. When you are around this boy again pay attention to the color it glows. If it glows red I want you to get out of there immediately and come home. Do you understand?"
"Yes, but what does all this mean?"
"I'm not quite sure yet. I have to make some phone calls and do some research but please be careful Lyza."
I got up and hugged my aunt. I told her I loved her and left to go to my room. What could all this mean I wondered. Aunt Val would find out. I laid on my bed studying the amulet she gave me. It was small about the size of a spoon head but round. It had an intricate woven design that looked like scales with what seemed to be a dragon's head on top. It was weird and I could tell it was old. I put it in my purse so I would have it ready for school tomorrow.

I was sitting in first period dreading what I would find out. It was almost time for the bell to ring and Castion still hadn't shown up. I let out the breath that I didn't realize I was holding when the door opened and the teacher walked in. I wonder why he's not here today.
Today I sat in the same place I did yesterday for lunch since it was empty. And just as good as I sat down along came Jordan.
"Oh my gosh, what happened to you last night? One minute you were grinding all over Castion and the next you was gone."
I hesitated to answer, not knowing how much about last night I wanted to tell Jordan.
"Well, we went upstairs to his room." Jordan's eyes looked like they were about to pop out the sockets.
"And"
"And, well, we kissed."
"Eek, you are so bad. What else happened."
"That's all! I was so scared someone would just come in. And also I don't know him like that so I just left."
"So you mean to tell me you were alone with Castion and all you did was kiss. Girl, I think I would have done more than that but you're right you just got here. You don't know him like that"
Little did she know how much more I wanted to do with him. We spent the rest of lunch talking about what happened at the party after I left.
