"Do you think that Jordan will go out with me since I'm from a rival school?" Lyza stared at the text dumbfound. It took her a minute to realize it was Jarrett. They had exchanged numbers, but she didn't bother with saving it yet. She sighed with a long breathe. She thought it was Castion texting her. "Why ask for the number if he wasn't going to use it," thought Lyza. She wasn't much of a texter, so she called him instead. When he picked up, she just started talking.
"I don't know just go for it." Lyza said.
"Can you put in a good word for me?"
"Me, I literally just meet you."
"Yeah, that right, damn."
"Just ask her dork" and with that Lyza ended the conversation.
Jarrett was left with his thoughts on asking Jordan out and Lyza was left thinking why Castion hasn't made a move yet.
Castion's POV
It was the end of lunch when I got Lyza's number from Jordan. I had to hover just to get her to go ahead and get the okay. I was walking down the hall about to text her when I felt hands reach around my waist.
"What do you want Karen?" my heightened senses let me know who it was.
"Why, can't I put my hands around my stud muffin?"
"Please, you know we broke up months ago. How many times do I have to tell you it's over?"
"But stud muffin," she cooed, "you know your minx misses you."
"What do you want Karen? I really do not need your shit right now."
"Who was that girl you were dancing with at your party?"
My eyes widened, "how do you know about that? You know you are not allowed on my land."
She just smirked, "who said I was there? You forget Castion," she drawled, "I have eyes anywhere I want."
"Look Karen, I told you before to stay away from me," and with that I walked off.
That took all of my extra time, now I have to get to class. Damn, why can't she understand its over and just leave me alone. This is why I don't like relationships, they can get way too messy. I walked to class and went to my seat. I knew random dating wasn't really for me. I knew I had an Inamorata out there, but I wouldn't be able to find her until I got close to turning eighteen. So, when I knew it was getting close to my birthday, I decided to break it off with Karen. We had been dating for three months. She really didn't believe in the whole thing since she was 20 and never found her other, so she says. She had the face of a 17-year-old and enjoyed doing senior years at random high schools. Karen's group was visiting the area on an assignment when we decided to hook up. I thought it would be alright to keep the company of one of my own kind, but I was wrong. Karen was clingy and possessive. When it came time for her group to leave, she stayed behind. Then things started to get bad between us. I couldn't handle all the accusation, the stalking, and random bouts of crazy. So I ended it and banned her from my property. I couldn't ban her from this area completely, I won't get that power until I turn eighteen. I was too lost in my own thoughts to pay attention to what was going on in class. Before I knew it the bell rang. I hurried and rushed out the room. This was my last class and I couldn't wait to call Lyza when I got home.

Lyza's POV
I was fixing a snack when my phone start ringing. I looked at the number and didn't recognize it. "Who is this" I asked as soon as I answered the phone. I had a feeling who it was I just wanted to confirm my suspicions.
"Castion, I didn't see you at school today and wanted to make sure you were alright"
"Oh, I'm fine. I didn't have any classes today."
"Really?"
"Yeah, its part of my advancement placing."
"Cool, you must be super smart, maybe I can get you to tutor me sometimes?"
"You didn't strike me as the type that needed academic assistance."
"Ah, you caught me, I don't but I would like to get closer to you." I could hear the smile in his voice. I started giggling. Giggling. I couldn't believe it. The effect he had on me had me curious and equally scared. After a few awkward moments of silence he spoke up.
"Check this out, how about you go out with me this weekend and I can show you around since you're new?" What could it hurt I guess, but I didn't want to be completely alone with him.
"Can a couple of my friends come, make it a group thing?"
"Just Jordan and Jarrett." I threw out there quickly.
"Okay that's cool," he said. I could hear the slight disappointment in his voice but after last time I don't how good of an idea it would be to go completely alone with him.
"Great, see you this weekend." I hung up with Castion and immediately called Jordan.
"Hey girlie!" why does she always sound so cheerful.
"Hey Jordan, I have a favor to ask you."
"Ok."
"Well, first I have to say don't freak out."
"Ooooo, I like were this is going already." I've only known Jordan for a couple of days and it feels like we have been friends forever. This gave me the confidence to continue.
"Well, Castion called and asked me out. I …."
"Oh my gosh! Lyza what did you say?"
"Let me finish. I told him I would go out in a group and that you would be one of the people in that group," rushed out the rest of my words.
"Lyza, I don't know."
"Please Jordan," I whined. "You will know the other person. I told him I was inviting you and Jarrett."
"Oh. Well, I guess I could go to help out a friend." Her tune changed quick.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now let me call Jarrett to let him know."
"Ok" and with that we hung up. Next, I called Jarrett.
"What's up," he answered.
"Hey, you know how you want to talk to Jordan well now you have your chance. This boy at school asked me out and I told him I would go but in a group. You and Jordan are the only people I know, even though we just met, I threw your name in the box."
"Sure, that sound great just text me the time and place." That was easy.
"Ok" I said then hung up. I looked at the text that came while I was talking to Jarrett, it was Jordan. Two words and she knew she had me.
