Castion's POV
I decided not to go to school today. I couldn't bear being around Lyza right now. Last night was so intense I don't know how to explain it. One minute we were kissing and the next she was running out the door. I started to chase after her but I felt that would have been going too far. I feel this strange attraction towards her that I have never felt for anyone before. This goes beyond lust. I have lusted after women and had sex with many. So I know what lust feels like and this ain't that. I have heard others describe this feeling when they find their Inamorata but that's impossible because Lyza is human. I have so many thoughts running through my head, I don't know what to think at this moment.
I pull out my phone to call Xander but it just goes straight to voicemail. I shoot him a quick text to call me as soon as he can. I decided to go hit the gym downstairs, to blow off some steam, until he calls me back.
That workout went on for almost two hours. I can't believe how time passed. My body is drenched in sweat and I am in serious need of a shower. Working out took my mind off Lyza but as soon as the water hits me she re-entered my thoughts. I turned the water to cold, finished my shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I was rambling through my drawer for something to put on when my phone rang. It was Xander finally calling me back.
"What up, I saw your call but I was in a meeting."
"Hey, I need to ask you something important."
"What's with the serious tone?"
"Just listen, have you ever heard of an Inamorata being human?"
"No, I haven't and I don't believe it's possible. You have to understand your Inamorata is someone that will be as long as you are alive and that just isn't possible with a human. For the Inamorata to live without their other half is extremely painful. You could change them, but we know that is forbidden and when anyone finds out they are always killed."
"Why are you asking me all this Castion?"
"I don't know just yet. I have to check something out and I will give you a call back in some days."
"Ok man, just be careful. You know it's close to The Rising and everybody is one edge."
And with that Xander hung up. He was never one to just say bye. He was right though, The Rising was coming up within the next two weeks and every supernatural being will be a little testy. When The Rising happens, supernaturals used to just let their wild side out. You could compare it to a Halloween of danger that happens three times a year. Before The Order came into power there used to be a lot of casualties, especially humans. Since we have seen how advanced their technology has become we try to avoid an all out war over something that can't be controlled three times a year. There are certain destinations where the supernaturals could go until midnight to ride it out and party or they could choose to go through it at home as long as they are secure. These are the thoughts that shifted through my head as I continued to get dressed. I guess I will just see what happens over the next few days.
Lyza's POV
Another day down in this place. I'm just glad that I don't have to attend everyday or I would go crazy. I decided to leave my bag at school today so I headed towards my locker. Out of nowhere some dude just bumped into me so hard it knocked my glasses off. I hurriedly dove for them and quickly put them back on my face. I was glad that the hall was mostly empty, so maybe no one felt that. When I looked up I saw a weird look cross his face then it was immediately gone.
"Hey, aren't you at least going to apologize," I say.
"Me, apologize for what you should watch where you are going."
Asshole, I stalk off towards my locker so I can get out of here. He comes up behind me, "hold on, I'm sorry I was trying to find the main office and wasn't watching where I was going."
"Whatever"
"I'm serious, I just transferred here. I'm Jarrett." He held out his hand but I didn't shake it. Catching the hint he put it down. "Just go down this hall and make a left, you will see the door," I told him. I put my stuff in my locker as he was walking off. What is with the people in this town I thought to myself.

Jordan and I are supposed to meet at the mall today to do some shopping for a school trip this weekend. The senior's are going on a camping trip and I'm kinda excited. Still being new, to the area I had to GPS my way there. I didn't want to ask Jordan, it would have made me seem like I was lazy if I couldn't use Google.
I arrived at the mall just in time to see Jordan getting out of her vehicle. Jordan had texted me she was parked in lane five. Luckily, there was a spot beside her. I parked and got out of my car. The only things I grabbed was my phone, keys, and a card. I didn't know how much money Jordan had so I don't want to offend her by pulling out a lot of money. When I shop, I liked to buy whatever I see that I want. I'm not some stuck up rich kid but why deprive yourself of things in the world if you can afford it. I took an active part in my parents company. They saw I was good at managing money so they didn't care when I went spend crazy sometimes.
"Hey," Jordan greeted as I walked around her car.
"You ready?" Jordan gave me a questioning look.
"Ready for what. I thought we were just buying some stuff for the trip this weekend," she said.
I laughed. "We are, but I might see some additional items that I might want"
"Uh oh," Jordan said under her breath. What she didn't know was that I heard her. I just gave a low chuckle and grabbed Jordan's arm. "Let's go."
