Chereads / Coercion With The Bad Boy / Chapter 10 - A cousin for life

Chapter 10 - A cousin for life

Big, fluffy blanket.

One large, all meat pizza.

Two large bags of potato chips.

And one extra large Oreo shake.

This was what a weekend was supposed to be. Loads of junk food decorating the coffee table, awesome surround sound system and good anime on a huge screen.

There were times when I loved my life and this was one of those times.

When I came back home at nearly six in the morning the house was, as usual, empty and void of any presence. Lights were off and it felt as cold as it always did.

My usual comfort is quite simple. Crack open a can of soda along with a large shake and have them while binging on some good anime.

This was my therapy and for the last eight years of my life, it has worked.

Four hours in and already half the food was eaten away. My eyes were horribly itchy and sore. But with good reason.

I spent the last few hours with my eyes glued to the screen, mouth agape in awe and ears strained to only hear the wonderful voices of handsome ikemen.

It was a wonder that I even heard the door bell go off. What wasn't surprising though was the fact that I completely, wholeheartedly ignored it.

I didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with an impulsive intruder. Not now, not ever!

Leaning closer to the screen in trance of the show playing before me, I was on edge as finally the final scene was playing out.

The captain was about to say the words I and all fujoshies of the world had been anticipating.

He leaned closer to his subordinate, breath's hitched and eyes closed. As they were about to kiss...the moment was ruined by the damn doorbell!

Frustrated now that the moment was ruined by the onslaught of screeching noise I screamed out to the person outside from my comfortable position on the couch.

"No one's home!"

*Ding dong*

I rolled my eyes in irritation. Trying my atmost best to ignore that bell but whoever was behind that door surely was persistent.

"Go away!"

It seems they didn't get the memo that "Go away"meant them leaving and never coming back, like ever!

*Ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong*

They really, really were persistent!

"Ugh!"

Finally have had it with the bloody ear piercing noise I stood up with annoyance written on my face.

Throwing off my large blanket to the side I stomped to the door. The loud steps sounded as large as a giant.

I didn't really care that I was in nothing but a large t-shirt and black shorts, or that my hair was nothing less than a jungle. Of which I'm pretty sure I saw a bird's nest in.

Throwing the door wide open, eyes already glaring daggers and mouth sneering I found myself face to face with Chris Hemsworth...

Yeah as if, I'd go crazy if it were him. I mean I usually don't find 3D guys more interesting than my anime boys but he, he is an exception.

"What do you want?"

I rudely asked, not bothering to hide the complete and utter anger and irritation on my face.

One could definitely detect the sheer rage in my voice, which seemed deeper than it usually was. Well that's what happens to you when hydrated and watching TV all day long.

"Well, lovely to see you too cuz"

Pushing me aside, ignoring my very on point glare mind you, Chase walked inside to the living room.

"No please, come in"

I sarcastically retorted, to which he replied with an evil smirk.

That little weasle, I swear I'm gonna skin him alive. Soon, soon.

This is where I rub my hands together like an evil maniac by the way.

"What are you doing you weirdo? Stop daydreaming already and let's continue watching your damn cartoons"

Chase yelled out from the corner of the sitting room. His head peeking out from the side.

"It's anime, not cartoon! If you're gonna insult me, atleast do it right you freaking uneducated normie!"

Slamming the front door shut I stomped my way back to my place on the couch, where a now lazy fatass was on.

Because I didn't really give a damn about the fool and the fact that he had the audacity to insult my precious anime; the douche hole, I pushed him off to the floor with a kick.

He fell flat on his flat ass and I reveled in joy at that. Chuckling with an evil laugh I gave an equally dark smirk to my undistinguished cousin.

He groaned in pain as he rubbed his bottom. His upper lip lifting up in a sneer.

"Fix your mouth. You're not a dog."

I said while rolling my eyes and nibbling on a few chips.

Grabbing the remote I ignored Chase as he sat himself next to me and zoned right back into the show.

*******************

Three hours later and I was fuller than a lion after gorging down on an elephant. My head was resting on the couch arm, legs outstretched on Chase's lap.

And I was too tired to care about the ache in my sides.

*Ding dong*

Seriously, again?!

I should get that doorbell removed. The doorbell went off again but I was not moving from my spot.

Looking down to the boy sitting at the end of my couch I gave him a kick of notice.

He grumbled in protest, not once looking away from the TV. He was completely compelled to the screen at this time.

Yeah, look who's crazy over anime now.

Not giving a damn, cause I'm a douche I kicked him once more on his side to which he responded to by holding my foot between the arm and stomach.

I struggled to get my foot out under his moist armpit but soon gave up. I was far too lazy to burn out energy unnecessarily.

"Go get the doorbell asshole"

"You get it, I'm busy watching here"

"And I'm busy being lazy."

Chase rolled his eyes and finally looked away from the screen toward me.

"You know you're a pain in the ass right?"

"It's my house I can be whatever I want to be"

Giving up, the boy though frustrated removed my legs off his lap in a not so gentle way, got up and walked to the door.

"Bring back a bag of Cheetos!"

"Yeah, yeah"

Looking to the screen I saw he was watching Tokyo goul. I cringed in irritation and tried to change to a different anime.

Looking to my feet, I saw the remote idly sitting by the arm rest. Squinting my eyes in thought I did what all other lazy butts such as myself would do.

Stretching my foot out to it I nudged at the control, trying yet failing to get it to my hand.

"Come on, almost there"

Just as it was about to land on top of my foot, it fell straight to the floor instead.

"Noooooo!"

I cried out in agony. I was so close yet it was so far away. Truly this day is a day of defeat.

"Never have I faced such a worthy foe, you are quite the resilient one."

I clenched my fist while still lying on my back, looked to the ceiling and cried out a warrior's call.

"Shut the hell up you freaking banshee!"

I looked over the couch to see Chase with a scowl decorating his already hideous face.

Happy, I smiled sweetly at my annoyed cousin. But not because I was happy to see him, it's because in his hands was the snack I asked for.

But there were more. He had a huge tub of ice cream in one hand, two plastic spoons in the other and two large shakes.

"Oh my dear cousin who I love so much that I'd kill for. Did you know I love you to the moon and back?"

I said as I fluttered my eyelashes repeatedly at him.

"Shut up you pig. Here,"

He handed me the Cheetos, one of the shakes and a spoon to share the tub.

Looking back to the screen I had forgotten about changing it.

With a look of plead I whimpered at my cousin. He stopped mid-chew to give me a pointed look.

"What?"

I smiled sweetly at him and once again fluttered my lashes at him with a sickenly sweet look.

"Could you please hand me the remote?"

Raising a brow he looked confusedly at the place where the remote originally was placed.

He seemed to have found it on the ground after accidentally stepping on it.

"Seriously? How'd it even get there?"

Handing over the remote he questioned the change of position of the remote.

Acting surprised I shrugged my shoulders in confusion while lifting a straw to my lips, sipping on the chocolatey Oreo flavoured shake.

"I don't know"

He rolled his eyes and handed over the remote to me.

Changing to a better anime we stayed glued to our seats for the rest of the day.

At some point the hot, blazing sun outside disappeared behind thick, purplish, cotton clouds. Day turned to night as a full moon rose to light the way in the darkened night.

Chase and I were still sitting like statues on the couch, chins bigger than they were two minutes ago and stomachs full with nothing but junk food.

Yeahp, this was a good day, a good day indeed!

"Hey, when are your parents coming home?"

Shrugging my shoulders while carelessly stuffing jelly worms into my mouth I shrugged at the question.

"How long has it been since you've seen them?"

Adjusting my body to feel more comfortable I kept my eyes on the crumbs of cookies littered on my chest. Picking them off little by little I answered the question.

" I saw mom yesterday on my way to yours."

"And your dad?"

My mouth went shut at the question. Silence was welcomed into the room as I struggled to remember when it was last I saw my father.

"Hmmm, maybe six months ago? I don't know."

"How can you not know when it was last you saw your dad? I mean come on!"

"It's not like it matters whether they're here or not. I mean it doesn't even feel like they're around when they are."

Huffing a big sigh of frustration, Chase got up to stretch his limbs out and yawned in fatigue.

"We're not a happy family like everyone thinks. We don't communicate, we don't spend time together and we hardly ever see each other. Sorry to say this but we're not like you guys."

Looking to the side avoiding eye contact with him, I heard the shuffling of feet come closer to my side.

Arms wrapped around me in a protective yet comforting hug. Chase tried to reassure me

"It's okay, I'm sure things will get better Reign. I promise"

I wasn't one to beleive in promises. Not after the ones that never came to pass thanks to my parents.

But I wasn't a non-believer when it came to good people. I just didn't really trust the words that came out of people. Not to say I have trust issues, it's just....

To say I was pessimistic would be more accurate actually. Because I never really believed in good things happening to me would ever happen.

But my cousin was the total opposite of me. He believed in the good of the world and was always the optimist.

Returning the hug, cause I'd gladly take something I hardly ever receive in this lonely, cold house, I buried my head in the crook of his neck.

"Alrighty then, this is getting too mushy even for me"

I laughed at him as we seperated from the warm embrace.

"Oh you know you love body heat more than anyone you've ever met"

"Exactly, I love body heat. You have none of that since you're not even alive."

I scowled at him, stood up as fast as I can and went right for him.

Quick to read my movements, he dodged my attack and sped off upstairs. Away from my claws.

Running up after him, instinctively I threw the plastic spoons at him. He laughed as the weapon fell, not even five inches away from my fingers.

Well that didn't do anything.

"I swear when I catch you, you're gonna wish you were the dead one!"

There were times when having Chase was a blessing and then there were times when he was nothing short of a curse.

But I was glad he was here now. Having him around helped me forget about the constant loneliness surrounding this house.

Chase, you're the best. But I'm still going to gut you like a fish!
