Chereads / Coercion With The Bad Boy / Chapter 7 - The Crow

Chapter 7 - The Crow

Driving through dimly lit streets with the occasional annoying LED lights emitted by clubs, I gazed through the window. Admiring the streaks of bright rainbow colours created as the car zoomed past buildings.

The sun had long gone, leaving in its place a dark, moonless night.

I perked an elbow at the window pane, admiring the bravado nocturnal individuals showed.

We soon made it to a darker and less populated area. The place was bare and desolate, as if it survived a long war. A few broken buildings managed to stay up,but only barely.

At the end of the long road was a large warehouse. At a distance it seemed empty and uninhabited but upon a closer view, one could see the occasional streams of lights.

Driving closer to the creepy, large building, the sound of loud, booming music and screams of cheers of teenagers became more prominent.

I started to get uneasy. A feeling in my gut started bubbling up as bile rose at the back of my throat.

"U-um....where exactly are we?"

Turning my head, slightly uncomfortable I looked to the dark haired male for an answer.

"The Cavin"

And that's all I got. He said it all with a straight face as if I was supposed to know what The Cavin was!

What the hell even is that? The name of some vampire cult?

"Herricks, I swear with all my might if I'm being taken to some cult gathering, I'm gonna strangle you with my bare hands."

The corner of his lips lifted in amusement, he turned to me with a smug look

"I'd like to see you try."

If looks could kill, he'd be in hell right now! Cause I swear the glare I was delivering was one for the books.

The car came to a halt in front of the spooky building.

"Is this a cult?"

I asked seriously.

Nicholi quirked his brow in questioning

"No"

"Is it an asylum?"

He sighed in irritation

"No, what sort of asylum allows flashy lights and cheering teenagers anyway?"

Well excuse me for being scared outta my wits cause I was brought to a place in the middle of nowhere!

"Well...is it a human trafficking area?"

I asked slightly shaking now, the thought of bodies being sold off like potatoes did not fit well with me.

This time he laughed at my assumption.

"What? No! You'll see when we get there"

"Dude, the last time I heard that sentence it was in a horror film. So be real with me,"

I sighed, preparing my heart for the answer that might come after asking this question. I looked to Nicholi with the utmost serious face I could muster.

"Are you actually a demon sent out to kidnap people and make an incantation to raise the dead with their dismembered bodies?"

This time I was given an even weirder look, as if what I said was something straight up strange and weird as fudge.

I mean that's what happened in the movie I watched so you never know.

"Reign, stop being an idiot and follow me."

He didn't say anything further as he unbuckled himself and got out of the car.  He walked a bit then stopped when he noticed I had still not left the motor car.

I looked at the driver's side, reminiscing about all the action movies I've watched and freezing the moments where a car was hot wired.

It's pretty simple, just cross the red wire with the blue....or was it the blue with the green? Wait, wasn't there a purple wire too?

"You coming?"

I looked out to the tall figure waiting for me to get out.

Maybe I can outrun him, if he catches me I could beat the crap outta him...yeah right, beat the crap outta the guy who put ten students in the hospital?

I'm crazy, not stupid.

Deciding  that I was screwed I sighed in defeat and left the safe confines of the car.

Pulling the jacket closer to my body as a means of warmth from the blowing wind and also to make myself feel secure, I walked to where my kidnapper stood.

"I swear if I die, I'm haunting you forever!"

I glared at him making sure my threat was delivered perfectly. I had to show him I meant every word, cause I did!

"Alright, but you won't need to haunt me cause you ain't gonna die"

Stuffing his pockets into his leather jacket, which I only now noticed he had on, he turned around and walked to the side of the large building.

Like a scared and lost puppy, I followed him without further question.

Yeah great job Reign, follow the guy to a creepy old building like an idiot.

And after all those times I criticized the girls in horror films dying stupidly by going into scary looking places.....I'm such a hypocrite!

Coming to a halt infront of a metal, double door, Nicholi made some weird code-like knock.

My eyes widened in the sudden thought that this really was a cult gathering of some sort.

Nicholi saw the look on my face and sighed while shaking his head at me.

What? I'm terrified okay!

The loud, irritable creak of the metal door opening brought me out of my thoughts.

Behind the steel door was a tall, dark man with tattoos covering his entire body, including his face.

He looked absolutely terrifying with the scowl that spotted his face when he looked at me, but as soon as he saw Nicholi standing beside me, the aggressive look instantly melted away.

"Yo Nick, how's it hanging man?"

"Thomas man, I thought I told you my name is Nocholi, not Nick"

They gave each other those bro hugs...you know where you kinda hug the other guy while holding his hand? Yeah that one.

"Ah sorry man, I promise to get it right next time."

The guy, Thomas, apologized after releasing Nicholi from his hold.

"Highly doubt it, we've been through this many times already"

"Yeah, that's true."

He laughed at what Nicholi said.

"Hey, who's your lady friend?"

Nicholi looked at me then back at the bigger guy, who funny enough was a bit shorter than the younger boy.

But it wasn't much of a shock since he was taller than almost everyone, standing at 6'4.

A giant compared to my miniature 5'5, but I ain't complaining. Just means more chances to get a tall guy....if I can get one that is.

"She's cool, just someone who needs to unwind"

"So you brought her here?"

The nonchalant boy shrugged at the bodyguard, not at all threatened by his built.

"Well then, have fun"

Moving to the side, Thomas made way for the both of us to enter.

He gave me a small smile and I returned the gesture.

As soon as we made it inside, the loud crack of the metal door closing and locking was all I heard, until small voices replaced the silence.

The room was dark, walking further a large curtain, hiding what sounded like millions of voices behind it came into view.

With a swift movement of his arm, the curtain was swept aside by Nicholi.

What I saw was definitely not what I was expecting.

I came here prepared to fight against a horde of zombies or possible killers, not....this.

"Here we are"

Loud music boomed from large speakers as a DJ stood next to the large boxes, what seemed like a lot of teenagers loitered the dance floor, some in corners with a beer or two in hand.

There were pool tables, a long L-shaped bar with no doubt underage drinking and a make shift lounge area at the very back. Bean bags and large pillows placed in a disorderly manner.

My mouth hung open at the amazing discovery of such an awesome teenage hangout.

"Unholy Pinocchio! What is this heavenly place?"

Nicholi laughed at my amazed expression and lead me to the very back of the large warehouse.

While doing so I couldn't help but move my head side to side, looking at all the fun activities available in one area.

"Is that a skating rink? And an arcade area?!"

I gasped while passing by the skating teenagers and hard gamers.

"Oh my Lora Jacobs, is that an art gallery? Are you kidding me!"

We finally made it to the lounge area, falling onto a bean bag Nicholi laughed once more at my astonished face.

"See, told ya you'd like it"

I looked at him with a brow quirked

"Like it? I love it!"

I threw myself carelessly on the bean bag chair across him, legs stretched out and arms spread to my sides.

Closing my eyes I hung my head back and just let the good vibes of this awesome place take me as its prisoner.

"Nicholi, man! Where've you been dude?"

"We've been looking for ya everywhere!"

My head shot up from its comfortable position to see who the voices belonged to.

Three guys came walking up to where we sat. They looked highly suspicious and somewhat.....scary.

There was a blonde one who had black streaks running through it, piercings covered nearly his entire face.

Next to him was a taller, leaner boy with midnight blue hair, he seemed less hostile than his friend with a wide smile decorating his face.

The last was a pitch black haired crow dude. I swear that's what he looked like to me. He had his hair swept to the side, hiding his right eye, tall with black clothes.....no other colour.

Atleast his friends added some colour other than black into their outfit, but this guy?

"Sup, dude"

Nicholi greeted his friends, giving each a bro shake....I will never understand why dudes do that!

After their greetings one of them, the crow dude, looked to me and by sheer coincidence I looked at him at the same time. Causing our eyes to meet and me to freeze.

Why?

Cause he scares the shells outta me.

The guy had eyes darker than the night sky, they felt like a dark pool of an infinite abyss. And the black eyeliner surrounding  his already dead look made it look worse.

It scary as hell!

I was too scared to look away, like we were playing a game of chicken.

Except there was no chicken, only a crow.

The staring contest of me and the creepy crow dude caught the attention of his companions.

"Hey, who's that?"

Asked the blue haired male, curiosity written in his eyes.

Nicholi looked away from the conversation he was so invested in with the blonde, to look at me.

Yeah I know, I mean I'm still here but not like you care right?

"Oh, that's Reign. She's my partner for an assignment I'm doing "

Wow. Guess I'm just a random person who's doing an assignment with you and not a friend or anything....but that's fine. I'll live

"Uh, h-hi"

Ah well hello shyness, suddenly came to say hello I see. Where've you been these last few days!?

"Hi Reign! My name's River, this is Tyler and that's Max"

He introduced himself as he pointed to the blonde and the crow dude after.

"I'm guessing this is your first time here, am I correct?"

Instinctively I ducked my head, and fiddled with my fingers

"Y-yeah, it is"

"Well then,"

Throwing his arms wide open and with a loud voice that rivalled the music coming from large speakers, he screamed out

"Welcome to The Cabin!"

The sudden noise caused me to slightly jump from my seat, as my head shot up.

Nicholi rolled his eyes at his over enthusiastic friend and sat back down onto his original seat. Tyler sat next to him as they proceeded their conversation.

River basically threw himself onto the bean bag chair next to mine and Max, who I will still refer to as crow, sat on the other side of me.... fantastic.

"So Reign, what do you do for fun?"

Questioned River with sheer curiosity.

"Not much, I read a few books and listen to music. Not really that exciting huh?"

"She's lying, she reads manga, watches anime and criticises romance novels"

Nicholi commented, which I responded to with a deathly glare. He just chuckled at that.

I don't only criticize romance novels! I also ridicule them, hmphf.

"Wait, you watch anime?"

"Y-yeah?"

Usually when I told people about my like towards anime they'd be put off or lose interest in conversing with me immediately.

But River gave a different reaction. His eyes widened in what seemed like joy and his smile grew impossibly wider.

"Holy crap! That's so awesome. What type do you watch?"

I hesitated slightly before I answered him

"Uhm, all kinds really. Other than romance"

"Do you know Tokyo ghoul?"

My eyes widened in excitement at that as I began to gush over the stressing animation.

"Holy crab balls, of course I do! But it really pissed me off with its second season. I mean what the heck was going on? I was completely confused with what was happening there!"

I widely gestured with my hands. I'm pretty sure I looked like one of those balloon men, infront of car dealerships.

"I know right! I mean I watched a few episodes of the second season then went back to the first to see if I had missed something but just got even more confused!"

River loudly exclaimed back his opinion with equal furry.

"Seriously what were the animators thinking? It was so confusing I got pissed off and just postponed watching it for months!"

My eyes widened as realisation dawned onto me that I had basically gushed my frustrations concerning an animation, with so much emotion to a stranger.

Instead of feeling awkward like me however, River laughed in pure joy.

"Oh man, I can't beleive I finally have someone to talk to about these things with. You have no idea how hard it is to talk about Japanese animation with these duds"

He pointed his thumb at the two boys sitting across us. I laughed at that and nodded my head in understanding.

The rest of the night was kind off a blur, consisting of me sharing more opinions and love over anime with the blue haired boy and vise versa.

It was a nice night and surprisingly calm........well that's what I'd like to say but, that's not exactly how the night ended.
