Everyone was silent when Mufar asked the question.
"Am I obliged to answer that question?" Julianne snorted as she stood up and was about to leave the room when Mufar exuded his aura.
"Stay!" Mufar concentrated his aura towards Julianne's place as she felt dread and helpless.
Sweat dripped profusely from her head as she slowly turned around and saw Mufar smiling at her but this smile didn't bring delight instead, it brought horror as behind this smile, it felt like a dreadful creature was waiting for her life.
From the fear that's forming from within her, she subconsciously went back to her seat.
Nobody around can tell everything that happened to her except Julianne herself who experienced it. Everything looked as if Julianne feared Mufar but they don't know the cause.
"Now, can anyone tell me what happened?" Mufar genuinely smiled at them.
A moment passed, no one decided to talk except a lady who stood up and went to him. It was Ana. She whispered everything that happened during their meeting back then.
After Ana told everything that she knew, she immediately went back to her seat. Mufar frowned as he tried to understand every one of them, and in a split second, he smiled again.
"I know what you all think about Luis, he looks like he is moving on his own, does he?" Mufar asked.
Nobody answered because most of them are heads down beside the four alchemists.
"Wait for me here, I have something to show you!" Mufar instructed as light covered him and he disappeared, after a few moments, from the same light he came out bringing a small booklet with delicate writings written on it.
He threw it on the table and it made a loud thud sound as it landed in front of Alyssa.
"Good thing he left it here before he went to the Capital City," Mufar said as he looked at the people inside.
"This is my little secret that I'm going to share with all of you, I know everything that Luis was doing when he is alone, it's because of the Mark of the Mentor that I gave him. That mark works when he is alone and won't when he's with others. It's my way of keeping him safe when he's alone so in case that he was in danger, I can come immediately. Mufar explained as he looked at them.
"That booklet that I showed you is his journal from the day he came from this world," Mufar said as a screen of light shown from behind him which caught everyone's attention.
It displayed Luis writing on the same book that is in front of them. He was in the middle of the woods all alone.
Alyssa immediately opened the book and on the very first page, she saw the entry Luis wrote.
'Day 1
I wrote this entry using this place's way of writing so I can easily adapt here.
I'm having difficulties comprehending the rules of time in this place but I think I can understand it later on.
Grandpa Francis left before I leave, I don't know what's going on but if ever I have a chance to talk to him, I will ask him why did he leave me even before I left? I wish he told me the reason on this note that he left me.
I met these three fairies, one of them is making fun of me saying that I'm pathetic thinking that my element is so strong. I know that I am pathetic ever since before I came through this world. I already accepted that reality but it still hurts hearing it from others. Even though she said that to me, I respect them because together, they can fight gracefully and effortlessly even with their small figures, they're powerful.'
When Alyssa read this entry. She was shocked at what she just read.
"He met Fairies? I wish to meet one way back when I was still a child. My mom told me that fairies only appears to those with a pure intention." Alyssa randomly stated as she continued to flip the pages but some of the pages were covered with light veils.
"Sorry young lady, but those pages hold a deep secret that should not be disclosed to anyone." Mufar apologized because he knew the details of the journal that he chose to conceal some of the details regarding Luis's encounters with the Gods.
"So, he already has secrets since before he came to the Academy?" Alyssa asked.
"Is he not allowed to keep some secrets for himself?" Mufar asked in a smug.
"No, it's not that-" Alyssa was about to defend herself when.
"I don't mind disclosing these secrets with you, but are you willing to risk your lives just to know these secrets?" Mufar asked.
"Are those secrets really that important that even our lives are the trade just to know it?" Serion asked.
"You don't know how important this secret was that even your clan masters can't pledge themselves." Mufar grinned when he said this.
"So, does this mean that you already pledged your life just for this secret?" Jay asked.
"The moment that I discovered this secret, my life isn't mine anymore." Mufar smiled at them as helplessness can be seen in his eyes.
Alyssa didn't pursue the matter anymore as she read the next entry which is not covered with a light veil.
'Day 7
I came to Eristreas Town only to be beaten up by the guards, I don't know what's happening to me but the moment that they surrounded me, I can't control my body anymore and the memories of my past surged inside my head. Before I knew it, I am already beaten till I can't stand it anymore. Thankfully, Old Man Dave came and helped me to recover.
This same day, a woman came rushing inside Old Man Dave's house but when I saw her kid, I was shocked to see how to kid looked, it's so awful and there's a lot of blood. I saw everything that happened until the moment that Old Man Dave cured the kid. I swore to myself that I will help this town as my payment for Old Man Dave's help.
I'm already late for my admission anyway, better to stay here than try my chance in vain.'
"So this is the reason why he was so attached to Eristreas," Alyssa commented the moment she finished reading that part.
'Day 34
It's quite cloudy today but the people of Eristreas are working hard. Grandpa Dave finally surrendered and let me call him Grandpa. He reminded me of my Grandpa Francis a lot. I wonder where he is right now?
We gathered a lot of herbs deep inside the forest and Grandpa Dave taught me a lot of things about being a Physician and Alchemist.
He's still the nicest person that took care of me. He taught me the Solidifying Origin Technique and he told me to keep it a secret because that is a very precious technique from his master. I understood and kept it to me as dearly as my life.
Mr. Gus came again asking for medicine for his aching body. He always works day and night just to sharpen, fix, or make some equipment that the farmers and fishermen use. We always told him to take a rest for a while but he always kept on doing that. He justifies the saying that old habits never die.'
"Probably, Mr. Gus is the old man we saw back then who protected the women and children with his shield," Jay commented when he heard the part Alyssa read.
'Day 103
Everybody can already feel the effects of the Summer Season. I don't know why but a lot of people are getting some skin diseases from left to right. Me and Grandpa Dave tirelessly made a bunch of ointments and creams to cool down their skins or to treat their diseases. It's a bit tiring but fun since at the end of the day, we will go to Elton to take a bath and have fun.
But that's it for today because we need to tirelessly work again day and night. After all, as soon as we came back, a lot of people are lining outside of our house waiting for us to come.
I made a lot of improvised shelter outside our house because the line of the patients is long. I made a little time just to write this entry but I need to be quick to help Grandpa Dave.'
"So, he was training as a Physician from the start then, no wonder he accepted that quest," Rex commented after he heard Alyssa reading that part.
"Not only that, he was the first student who got to Physician Grade 3 right after he passed the Physician exam," Mufar added which made the people inside wide-eyed out of shock.
"Is Physician class his main job?" Ana asked.
"No, his main job is Alchemist, he got Grade 5 right off the bat. No need to be shocked since we all knew that he can concoct pills." Mufar waved his hand and gestured for Alyssa to continue.
'Day 112
Finally! The last patient was cured! I haven't written in this journal for a while but now I can.
It's so taxing to take care of a lot of people with only two people, we even asked some women from the town but they refused because they are scared that they might catch the illness.
They looked helpless so Grandpa Dave and I take turns in looking at them, he slept in the morning and look for the patients at night as I do the opposite. I even concoct potions for these people in my spare time that even eating a bowl of soup is hard for me due to the number of people in pain that after a spoonful of soup is already a meal for that day.
It's taxing but now I'm relieved, I can finally take a rest for the day without worrying about people vomiting and screaming in pain. It's horrible to watch people being miserable in front of me.'
"That's... Depressing... If the last entry was on Day 103, then he survived 9 days of starvation and restless days just to take care of those patients?" Jericho commented.
"That's why I can trust that he won't be as selfish as what you all seemed," Mufar added as he looked at Julianne.
Julianne bowed her head lower to hide her embarrassment from everything that she said to the young man.
