Kevin came to Chantel's school to take her out and show her the surprise he had been talking about ever since the competition. Chantel was super excited to see what Kevin had in store for her. When Kevin finally came to see her, she jumped up and quickly rushed out. Adiepena and Cynthia rushed out after her since she had been so excited ever since they came back from the competition.
"What's with her? She has been so excited. Has she told you anything?" Adiepena asked a confused Cynthia who just shrugged.
"I don't know. Let's go after her," Cynthia suggested.
So that's what they both did. They followed her and saw that she was going to meet Kevin. They hid behind a tree and took a peek at them.
"Seems those two have been going stronger than ever. I have never seen her this excited. What exactly is Kevin doing to her?" Cynthia said.
"Whatever he is doing seems to be working in his favor. Chantel is practically eating from his palms. She actually did say she was going out with a friend. Could Kevin be the one?" Adiepena asked.
"Yeah. It's obvious since they are already leaving. I don't know but I think Chantel is loosing her guard around Kevin. I don't get why she trusts him so much." Cynthia replied.
"You know what, let's head back. I am sure she will explain to us why she lied to us. Come, let's go," she gestured her hand and turned back with Cynthia following her.
Kevin took Chantel's hand as they headed towards the school gates. It was a weekend and everyone else was tired from all the sporting activities so nobody really cared if the students went out or not. But the students of this great school were mostly disciplined. Even though they had been given the opportunity to go out and have fun for the victory they won, they preferred to stay back at the dormitory.
Chantel is one of those students but today was an exception.
"Where are we going, Kevin?"
"I told you it is a surprise. You will see it when we get there," Kevin said, smiling at her.
They both walked to the streets to pick a taxi. It was 12:30pm and the sun was already up, sending it's hot rays down on earth. Once they were able to stop a taxi, they quickly hopped in. Kevin gave the direction to where they were going and the driver took them there.
When they got closer, chantel got to know where they were going. They were actually at Kevin's school. The school was just as huge as Chantel's school. The only difference is that the school had lots of boys just as Chantel's school had lots of girls. Chantel looked around and she was totally amazed by what she saw.
"We are in your school, right?" she asked excitedly.
"Yes. Actually I brought you here because I wanted you to celebrate with me and my friends on our victory. The thing is, we are holding a small party for just the students but we were allowed to invite a friend over. Just one friend. Since you are the one on my heart, I decided to bring you with me. So, surprise," he smiled and waved both hands, making Chantel to giggle.
"Aw, love. That's so sweet. Thank you for inviting me and thinking about me. So, where is the party being held?" Chantel asked.
"At the assembly hall. We are yet to start, that is why you have not heard any music playing. So, maybe I can use the opportunity to show you around?" Kevin said.
"Sure. Where do we start?" Chantel smiled.
"Come with me." he stretched his hand towards her and she held it. Then, they walked inside the school.
Kevin showed her all around the school. They walked by the classroom blocks, the administration blocks, the science lab, the computer lab, and the library. They went past the football park, the volleyball park and ended up at the basketball court.
"So, this is my favorite part of the school. The basketball court. I'm guessing you know why I love being here."
"Because of your love for basketball I suppose." Chantel replied.
"Exactly. You know, I am so happy you decided to come with me. I was almost thinking you did not want to come. I was scared you will say no. Anyway, let me show you to the dorms."
"Wait! Are there boys there?" Chantel asked, holding on tightly to Kevin's shirt.
Kevin laughed. "Of course there are boys there. It's a boy's school after all. Come, let me show you to my dorm."
"Wait! I don't think I can go there. I am very shy around new people and I tend to get nervous around them. Lets go somewhere else instead, okay?" Chantel said, her face turning red from embarrassment.
"Oh come on, Chanty. I only want to introduce you to my friends. I have been telling them about you and I even told them I would be bringing you to the party to introduce you to them. Don't do this to me. I want them to see that I have the most beautiful girl as my girlfriend."
Chantel had a pleading look on her face. She looked like she wanted to cry.
"Okay baby. I will introduce you to them later at the party, alright? Is that okay with you?" Kevin said, with a defeated look on his face.
Chantel laughed, flashing the beautiful dimples Kevin loved so much. Kevin hugged her tight.
"You know what? Let's go and sit under that orange tree and talk. I want to spend sometime with you before the party begins."
They walked towards a bench that had been placed under the orange tree. They sat on it and drew closer to each other. Kevin stretched his hand and placed it behind Chantel while he sat closer to her. Chantel felt so shy. If it were her school, she wouldn't have felt this way.
"Come on baby girl. Relax. This is my school and nobody really cares what goes on here so don't be shy. Besides, you are with The Star player of the basketball team. So, be proud and enjoy yourself."
Chantel smiled and nodded her head. Little by little she relaxed in Kevin's embrace and the stares she started getting from the other boys who were passing by did not bother her anymore.
