The Inter schools sports competition was going pretty well. The Queens school were already leading in the female handball and football teams. And the kings school were leading in the basketball and tennis ball teams as well. The athletics team were also doing well for both schools. Chantel was so happy to be there. At first she had her doubts about coming because of the sun and all the noise. But in reality, she was having fun.
Kevin had promised to give her a surprise if he leads his team to win. And she could not wait to see what Kevin had in store for her. Surprisingly, she had not seen Nadia and her friends ever since the competition started and it made her really happy. She was not even bothered about that though, she only wanted to meet Kevin so that they could be together again. She was waiting for him to touch her. She was already missing him so much.
It was already the last day of the competition and the matches were getting tight. The athletic teams had finished with their matches and Chantel's school was third. She was happy though, at least they were not in last place. The other teams had their matches later in the day. Chantel was a bit nervous about the whole thing. She really wanted Adiepena and Cynthia to both win in their respective teams. She really wanted that so bad.
Finally, the male football teams had finished playing. Kevin's school and one of the other mixed school were playing in the finals but the mixed school won. The other boys school won in the volley ball team and the other mixed school won the handball match. Kevin and his teammates won their match. Chantel was so happy. Kevin kept his promise and won his match with his teammates.
Chantel ran to hug him. She was so happy.
"I did it, baby girl. I did it. We won." he shouted when they hugged. They was so much noise on the pitch so it was hard for them to hear each other unless they had to shout.
"Yes, dear. I am so happy for you. You did it just like you said as you would." Chantel replied.
"So, what will you be doing tomorrow?" Kevin asked.
"Nothing. I guess I will be washing my clothes, that's it. Why do you ask?" Chantel asked him.
"Well, it's because I want to take you out. There is this place that I want to take you to," Kevin whispered in her ear as he got close to her.
"Really? Where could that be?" Chantel asked.
"Yes, but it's a surprise. So I can't tell you. You will have to wait till tomorrow."
Chantel fake pouted. "Can't you tell me where we will be going at least?"
Kevin playfully shook his head and laughed. Chantel hit him playfully faking annoyance. Kevin just giggled and broke the hug. But when he was calm, he hugged her again.
"I really want to kiss you. You have no idea." he whispered in her ear again.
Chantel laughed. She blushing again. Kevin always had a way of making her blush and he had managed to do that throughout the time the competition started. Chantel remembered that Adiepena and Cynthia both had their matches at the same time.
"Ei, I just remembered that Adiepena and Cynthia has their matches now. Would you like to go with me?"
"Sure, but I have to go change first. Maybe you should go there first, then I will meet you there later. What do you say?"
Chantel nodded. "Okay. But, I will be waiting for you. Don't be long."
"I won't be long, baby. Just a few minutes and I will be with you, okay."
Chantel hugged him one last time and left. As soon as she left, Nadia intentionally bumped into Kevin.
"Oh, I am sorry. I did not mean to bump into you like that," she apologised.
"Nadia? What are you doing here? You know what, never mind. What do you want?" Kevin asked angrily.
"Oh, come on dear. Aren't you happy to see me?" she smiled at him.
"No, I am not. Can you get out of my way? I have to go meet up with my girlfriend," he said and began to walk away.
She quickly held his hand and turned towards him. He stopped in his tracks. "What is it, again?"
"Can we talk for a minute?" Nadia asked her.
"You and I don't have anything to talk about. We already said whatever we had to say the day I came for the entertainment program your school hosted. Please, don't bring this up again."
"Kevin please."
"Nadia, don't embarrass yourself anymore. I have told you what I had in mind, so please stay away from me." he turned away from her and walked away.
Nadia felt bad about how Kevin had treated her. "Why can't you see that I love you?" she asked, talking to herself.
Chantel went back to the stands and sat down. The teams had already playing. Chantel could see both of them playing from where she was sitting. She cheered both teams on, urging them to win. Kevin later joined her in the stands and sat beside her.
"How did you know where I was sitting?" She asked him.
"I just asked around and someone showed me where you were. I guess she is your classmate because she knew exactly where I could find you?"
Chantel laughed. "Yeah, sure. Anyway, I am glad you are here."
"So, what's the score? Has anyone scored yet?"
"No, not yet. I really want our school to win. Our teams have worked so hard and have come this far, so I believe they will win."
"Let's hope so."
The games ended with the Queens school winning in both teams. Chantel was so happy that she was jumping for joy. She hugged her boyfriend tightly and he giggled at her excitement. Everything ended and it was time for them to report back to their respective schools. Chantel stood with Kevin at the entrance.
"So, I will be coming to your school later in the day to come pick you up. So, please wear something nice for me, okay?"
"Okay. Please take care of yourself and I will see you tomorrow."
Chantel and Kevin hugged each other again and Kevin left to board his school's bus. She waved at him when his bus was leaving till the bus was out of sight before turning away again. Then, she noticed her best friends coming from the entrance. She ran to them, squealing from all the excitement, while they did the same and hugged them. All of them started jumping up and down to show how happy they are that their school won.
