Zu Dai and Bing Ai talked to each other with a heavy filter covering their conversation. Bing Ai controlled the conversation however she wanted, she talked about anything and everything and with Bing Ai giving plenty of personal information freely however whenever the question or topic got personal about Zu Dai he quickly dodged it and steered the conversation somewhere else nonchalantly.
Zu Dai found out a lot of thing about Bing Ai including what exactly her family was specially known for, they were apart of the sects hierarchy family taking third position behind the Su Family 'Such a powerful friend I've made.' he nodded to himself once Bing Ai dropped that little fact about her family.
Bing Ai also found out really late into the talk with Zu Dai that Zu Dai was purposely avoiding some of her questions, she got closer to him because of this attempting to distract him with her 'womanly charms' in order for him to answer more questions about himself.
'Hmmm?' Zu Dai got clearly see Bing Ai's cleavage because of how leaned forward she was, he sighed slightly moving himself and continued to talk to her. 'She's trying way too hard to know about my personal life.' However, Zu Dai didn't think much of this because he was sure that he would never give a single fact of information about himself to her and even if he did...
She was nobility and could always find out where he came out of she really digged deep into his past and even then she would find nothing because there was nothing to hide.
Before they knew it an hour had passed.
The black haired man was floating above the courtyard accompanied by two other elders the first elder was the man from before who performed that makeshift 'speech' while the other was a brown haired woman who looked to be in her thirties but looks are deceiving.
The trio floated above the air with the black haired man being the only one standing on a sword the elders were watching him with an expectant gaze. He sighed and then lifted his hand "The next part of the exam shall be tournament styled, the set of rules is that you only need to win three times that means even if you lose one round you can still fight to win."
The ground in front of the people on ground shuttered and a gigantic platform began to rise from the middle of the courtyard the rumbling stopped once the platform was fully visible. The rumbling began again the platform was split in two from the middle.
"These two elders are picking who is fighting; they are going to use their presence to make sure that no one goes too far and kills the other participant." After finishing his little talk with the participants of the exam he flew high into the air and just stayed there.
The participants naturally looked toward the two smiling elders who were still floating in the sky with folded arms, The old man descended to the left arena while the lady descended to the opposite arena.
Four participants suddenly held their heads in pain but after the short shock they all walked up to their respective fields where they began to fight. Zu Dai was standing up next to Bing Ai who was also surrounded by her followers that were staring at Zu DaI with envy and slight hatred because Bing Ai was still trying to grab his attention from earlier.
The attempted grabbing of his arm was meant with a quick retraction of it which made her give up, she didn't want for him to completely run away now. Positioning herself in front of him didn't work at all he simply looked over her head at the fighting on the stage while on his tippy toes.
'She sure is working hard, maybe I should oblige her in one aspect attention.' Bing Ai's failed attempts to get his attention were cute to say the least and at each attempt she puffed her cheeks more while berating him on how to treat a little lady as herself.
"Hey! Don't ignore me this isn't how you treat a lady let alone a person!" Bing Ai shouted into his ear which was met by a head turn from Dai who smiled once he saw her surprised expression.
He then lifted his hand and rubbed the top of her head while saying "Alright, how do you want to be treated?" His smile beautifully sent a shiver of excitement down her spine while his head pats made her head feel warm and cuddly sending her into a stuttering mess which slowly fed into the gibberish that came out of her mouth which only added to the cuteness of the pairs moment together with each other.
Zu Dai was enjoying her silky smooth dark red hair glide across his fingers was suddenly pulled out of it by a literal hand that separated his hand from her hair, it was one of her followers who stepped forward and yanked it out of her head who accompanied it with "What are you doing?"
Zu Dai kept his calm smile and responded with "I'm asking a question to a friend of course." The girl was surprised at how calm he was and the grip on his hand softened slightly as a result making him able to freely break through it if he wanted to.
But he kept his hand there and waited for her to regain composure. She opened her mouth but Bing Ai was first to say "It's okay…" Her voice was barely audible.
"But Lady-" She was cut off as Bing Ai had already began to walk away from the place, forcing her to let go of Dai's hand too rush toward their lady who was fleeing the scene.
Zu Dai looked at the group leave and sighed 'If I knew a simple head pat was going to send her away I would've done this ages ago.' He looked at his hand and then he felt a pressure come onto his mind.
The words 'Right Arena' etched itself into his head and after the sudden momentary lapse he had he realized what he needed to do. He was already sure that he was going to win already as he heard an audible gasp once he began to walk forward his cudgel leaned on the back of his neck which created a big streak in the crowd he was in.
He reached the arena and looked from side to side, first at the other arena and then at Bo Jiang who was in the audience watching him with a hard glare that wanted to burn him alive 'What did I do?' He stared at Bo Jiang and when she noticed that he was actually looking at her she did a 'tch' while turning away from him.
He shrugged his shoulder causing the cudgel to bounce up. Controlling its bounce he carried it in front of him, the end of it touching the ground while the thicker part touched his shoulder.
His opponent stepped up on to the playing field and raised their arm saying "I surrender!" The person he was facing was way more muscular than him and was one of the followers that accompanied Su Ming into the courtyard.
'Smart.' He nodded and began to walk down the stairs again with his cudgel leaned on his shoulder once more, he was quite glad that he didn't need to fight much simply because the people were sure to fear him and he could easily win the competition but that was a double edged sword for his plans. He was sure that this part of the exam would be the final part of the exam even though they never fully specified this but he was sure of it.
But because this is the final part of the exam he was sure that the people with power who were watching the exam wouldn't be able to get an accurate depiction of his strength unless an outlier appeared and fought him he was sure that he would easily win this part of the exam but not get the best powerful backer.
His thoughts raged on how to get one of his opponents to fight him without doing anything rather inappropriate to get them to fight him… this was afterall a righteous sect and doing evil things may put off some people who might accept him.
'Wait, I've already killed a ton of people…' His head started to hurt as he tried to figure out a way to convince people that he was a good person and also have someone fight him so he could show off his skills in a proper dignified manner.
'How the hell do you convince people that you're a good person!' He momentarily leaned his cudgel on his chest while both hands ruffled his long hair.
He had already thought of thousands of ways to get someone to fight him but each way involved some sort of evil deed one of them was to make them so angry that they were forced to fight him but the ways to do such things… were to say the most revealing of his personality.
'Wait am I an evil person? I did kill those peasants but that was for a greater good to… get more people rejected out of the exam… and after I just attempted to make them all my friends too. I'm really a evil person aren't I…' His shoulder slumped and he let out a massive sigh.
