The cave started to shake as the dragon in the middle of the wall opened its eyes. Mylus stepped back three meters and put his arms at his back and stared coldly as a black line with golden shimmering lights divided the wall into two.
Xie Luo and the Sage quickly stepped back and stood beside Mylus. Xie Luo hugged Rina close to her chest as she watched the wall open slowly in trepidation.
The rumbling sound got stronger and stronger as the wall opened wider.
The cave finally stopped shaking. They all looked at the now parted wall which showed a barren land covered in fog.
Mylus turned to look at Xie Luo and his rested on Rina's sleeping figure. "You still insist on taking her there? Even when there's 60% chance, no, a 90% chance we may never see her again?" his voice was hoarse.
Xie Luo nodded firmly, "I know you can protect her even if she isn't strong but will she be able to accept it?" She looked him in the eye. "We haven't known her for more than a week including the time she was asleep, however you should have noticed by now she will not be happy if she has to be protected. Especially when her father is the most powerful creature in these lands."
The Sage stared at the sleeping Rina and said to the two, "You should take her in quickly. The gate will not be open for long." Mylus and Xie Luo looked at each other and nodded.
"Take her in. I'll keep the gate open." Xie Luo's figure vanished and appeared in front of the gate. She took in a deep breath and stepped in.
The whole land was scorched black with barely a few tenacious weeds growing. The sky was gray and there was no sun. The whole place was covered in a solemn and deadly atmosphere. Xie Luo tried to scout the place with her sharp eyesight and hearing but she couldn't see beyond two meters in front of her and she could only hear some distant howls.
She wasn't sure if it was the howling sound of animals or the piercing cold wind. She looked up to gray sky and murmured, "This is the famous Dragon tomb huh."She was observing the environment when she realized something.
When outside one wouldn't notice this. Xie Luo's face revealed a look of surprise as she felt the dense and rich spirit energy surrounding her. This wasn't any ordinary spirit energy either.
It was the purest energy she had ever felt. There was no trace of impurities. However, soon her face scrunched in displeasure. Instead of nourishing her the spirit energy was trying take hers! "I have to find a safe place for child and get out of her quickly."
She took out two black capes that had golden dragons embroidered at the back. She quickly wore the cape and helped Rina put on the other one. The originally big capes quickly shrunk to their sizes. She pulled the hoods of the capes to cover their faces and flew out. She was so fast one would only feel a fierce wind flash past.
The weather in this place was very unstable. The gray sky would only have some clouds and the next moment the rain would start pouring heavily. The thunder here was also loud and ground shaking. Occasionally one would see cracks appearing in the ground. Some were just cracks and others were deep and wide enough to be gullies.
She had been traveling for over an hour and she hadn't found a single stone or cave that could serve as shelter.
When it seemed like she wouldn't find one, she chanced upon a pile rocks. Having no other choice as she didn't have enough time. She tied Rina to her chest using a cloth.
She quickly moved the move the rocks and the she found a hole small enough to fit a child. She took out some hay from her space ring and made a comfortable bed. She covered it with a cotton cloth. She took Rina and placed her on the bed. She finally covered her small frame with a cotton padded blanket.
