Mylus and the Sage quickly appeared at Xie Luo's side and peered at the young child in her arms. They heaved a sigh of relief when they saw her sleeping peacefully in her arms. Mylus glanced at Xie Luo with a complicated gaze. Xie Luo felt his gaze and raised her eyes up to look at him.
"What are you looking at?" she sneered. The peaceful atmosphere was immediately broken. Mylus didn't answer her and snorted. The Sage just shook his head in amusement. 'These two will fight the least chance they get'. Xie Luo ignored the two of them and walked deeper into the cave.
She bypassed the straw mat and came to the wall at the other end of the cave. Unlike the other walls in the cave that were rough, this one was very smooth. There were strange symbols engraved in the smooth wall which looked like ancient runes.
Xie Luo looked back at Mylus and raised her smooth chin at the wall. Mylus' brow rose, "You want me to open it?". She nodded. He frowned, "Don't tell me you want to put her in there?" She looked at his with disdain, 'Isn't that obvious?' She rolled her eyes at him. His brows creased, "Xie Luo I don't think that's a good idea."
"Mylus don't forget I only want to save her."
Mylus shook his head firmly, "No, I refuse. That place is too harmful her. Her body won't be able to take it." Xie Luo sighed and looked at Rina in her arms. A look of hesitation flashed across her face then she gritted her teeth firmly as if coming to a decision.
"If you don't anything to happen to her, you better open it." Mylus was surprised. He knew very well that Xie Luo knew what would happen to Rina if she was taken to that room. But he didn't understand why. "Why?" It was a whisper but Xie Luo heard him loud and clear. She sighed, "If you want her to fully recover and not turn into a cripple this is the only place that can do that."
"But the chaotic energy will tear her apart before anything else happens."
He refused to budge. The Sage looked at Mylus' stubborn expression then Xie Luo's frustrated face. He snickered. In the quiet and spacious cave, the sound was amplified. The two looked back and glared at him. He ignored their stares and combed through his beard nonchalantly. "Say" his ancient voice rang out, "Why don't you just open it Mylus."
Mylus glared at his smiling face even more fiercely. The old man chuckled. Xie Luo shifted to face him, her face puzzled, "I know you won't say that for no reason. Why are you doing this." She had known this old geek for over 500 years after all. He wouldn't help others for no reason.
His pockmark filled face broke into a wide grin showing his crooked teeth. "Why of course I want my little disciple to wake up."
Mylus and Xie Luo were stunned. When did Rina get a third master?? They couldn't wrap their heads around the old man's shameless words. Xie Luo's lips twitched, "You're shameless." Mylus nodded in agreement. The Sage guffawed, "You can't shame the shameless."
Xie Luo was speechless.
Mylus was speechless.
Alright, they gave up.
The Sage continued, "Mylus, the little girl doesn't have enough time. If I'm not wrong she possesses the power of the gods and demons. That place is just right for her to recover." he said seriously.
Mylus had to admit he was right. The two opposing powers were a gift and a curse for the girl. If used well she would become powerful beyond comprehension. If not, Mylus shook his head. Nothing will happen to his daughter.
He pursed his lips in thought and finally relented. "Fine". It was just a word but Xie Luo felt as if a burden had been lifted off her shoulders. She heaved a sigh of relief. The Sage also nodded in approval. He admired Mylus courage. After all he might lose this daughter he just gained.
Mylus moved to stand in front of the massive wall. A black dagger appeared in his right palm. He used it to ruthlessly slash his left palm and let the blood drip onto the floor.
The blood moved towards the wall as if it had it's own conscience and was quickly absorbed by the wall. The runes on the wall slowly lit up and moved to edges of the wall. Soon all the runes were shining with a golden glow. A faint sense of oppression was released by the runes.
The light continued to glow brighter as it moved toward the center of the wall. After what seemed like forever the light converged into the shape of an ancient dragon. The drgons eyes were closed. Even when closed the pressure it released was astonishing. Mylus looked at the dragon coldly and placed his blood stained palm on the wall.
There was a rumbling sound and the cave started to shake.
