Chapter 24 - Departure

The main character widened his eyes in shock!

'Fuck! That curtain not only acted as a barrier that silenced sound and light from escaping but also hide my presence! I'm guessing they called for me and when the maidservants didn't find me, the sect master or the prince searched throughout the mansion for my presence. Which was in vain as the curtain was fully operational. Damn now that I think about it, that barrier formation is pretty useful... If I am somehow able to condense it around my body then it would effectively act as a cloak of invisibility from Harry Potter.'

"Young master, are you okay?" the maidservant noticing the teen's silence asked in concern. The teen, being snapped out of his thought, nodded his head as he said, "Oh don't mind me I was just lost in thought. By the way, are there any gloves I can borrow? Preferably black..."

The maidservant thought for a moment before saying, "I think are some pairs in the storage room, I'll go check for you." After saying that she lightly bowed before making her way through the corridor.

Seeing her leave the MC made his way in the opposite direction. As for the reason he wanted gloves, he wanted to cover up the marks left on his hand by the luck enhancement.

'I bet I can hide its presence if I were to use that silencing curtain on a smaller scale... Yes, yes that will work... Wait, why not just draw the rune directly on my skin?? That way I wouldn't even need to wear gloves and I wouldn't be a copycat of Alucard... Alucard? Wtf is an Alucard???'

Shaking his head he returned to the bathroom and quickly wrote the runes on his arm, with the added rune of concealment even his arm was back to its old mundane self. After finishing all he had to do, he went down to meet up with Yuno and rest. As soon as he made it outside he felt a sharp pair of eyes on him. Looking around, he traced it back to the eyes of the set master. His eyes were sharp as they observed the MC with peak curiosity.

Just before the teen could get uncomfortable, Yuno came running before asking, "Where were you? We have been looking for you for more than an hour!"

The teen smiled sheepishly before answering, "I was preoccupied in the bathroom... why did something happen?"

Yuno squinted her eyes in suspicion as she asked, "What exactly were you doing in there?"

The teen let out a sigh as his trap of a question had been overlooked.

'They're probably listening in on our conversation...'

Thinking up to here, he let out a smile as he said, "I was experimenting with different array formations..."

Inside the carriage of the prince, both the prince and the sect master narrowed their eyes.

'There's no way that brat is an array master. He doesn't even have qi... Wait, his finger has a wound. From observing his body I can say that he has concurred some blood loss. If he's telling the truth then he must've used the essence in his blood to form the array formations... And considering he was nowhere to be found when using my spirit sense, the validity of his statement is further solidified.'

This was a thought shared by both the prince and the sect master. They both inspected the teen with their senses but didn't seem to find anything special about the teen.

'If he's telling the truth then the Nine Dragon Sect has really encountered a blessing,' thought the prince as Array Masters were as rare as naturally emerging treasures. They utilized their essence, which could be their qi or their life force as the MC had done, to create different runes. A small group of these runes connected in an intricate way will form an array diagram, which turned into an array formation when two or more array diagrams are made one.

With the right combinations of runes and array diagrams, one was practically able to achieve any desired effect. The lore of array masters was heightened even more with the appearance of a legendary array master. Not only did he tower over all other cultivators, but was also said to have ascended into the Heavenly Planes and dominate all four continents. To have don't that as a human was one of the greatest feats in human history. This meant that he had outclassed all the other races such as the Rocs, the Celestial Dragons, the Fenixs', the Fiends, and the Holy Ones... just to name a few.

He was a legendary warrior who was acknowledged by all the powerhouses of the known planes. Due to him alone, the status of array masters has been glorified and ever since then they have been treated with the utmost respect.

The prince let out a sigh as he congratulated the sect master for such a promising prospect. The two exchanged a few words before calling for the then and Yuno. This time, the duo had been appointed their own carriage and they didn't have to share one with such high officials. The carriages were ready to go and the only thing left was to say their goodbyes.

The Price family had lined up the same way they did when first greeting them.

"It was a great privilege to have you two as our honored guests! Feel free to come again and you will be met with the greatest of hospitalities," said Zachery Price with a light smile.

"We are thankful for all you have done for us, I'll talk to Father about the matters we have previously discussed."

"You have my deepest gratitude."

Following that the whole of the Price family gave a bow to the prince and the sect master, and watched as the carriages slowly pulled away. Yuno could be seen with her head and hand sticking out of one of the carriages, waving goodbye to her newly made friends.

After the mansion was but a dot far away, Yuno returned to her seat with a saddened expression. Seeing her, the teen couldn't help but let out a sigh as he said, "You do know that you will see them again, right?"

Yuno raised her head as she said, "And when do you think that will be? Probably a few years later..."

In all reality, her guess was mostly accurate as she was a core disciple. More than anything, she was now required to cultivate and increase her strength. But he couldn't simply say that so instead he said, "You will probably see them sooner than you think, the threads of destiny are the most mysterious after all..."

Hearing him, Yuno wasn't all that convinced but having hope was way better than giving in to sadness.
