Why.
Why?
WHY?
Why does my blood boil whenever I see that red head?
Ugh. It makes me sick watching the lovebirds all love dovey, every second of the day.
Esther smiled evilly," What is this? Why are you making that face?"
"What face," I grunted.
She laughed," Pfttt... that face, why- why do you look so constipated?"
"This witch... Do you wanna die?" I angrily smiled at her.
"Is that a challenge?" she asked.
"What is wrong with the two of you? Ever since that night, you guys have been at eachother's throats. If we're going to work together, we'll have to Co-Operate, not KILL each other," Tera scolded us.
I sighed," I'm kinda tired of this. Let me know when you guys need me."
"Where are you going?" Shia asked.
"I'm going to train," I replied.
"I'll join you!" Shia followed me.
Shia panted," As always, you never falter, Kyuro."
"You've gotten better, Shia," I told him.
"You, too. I never expected you could advance so much just from learning a few spells," he said.
"That's because my teacher, taught me well!" I wiped the sweat from my cheek.
"So! Is there something you'd like to tell me?" he said.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Oh you know. The way you look at Saiya. Are you... in love?" he asked.
I laughed from shock and scoffed," What? Just looking at her makes my blood boil! In love? Wow, Shia, I always knew you were weird, but you really must be crazy."
"Hmm.. I admit, I have a 'different' approach to people, but I don't think I'm that crazy," he laid on the ground.
"Sure," I said sarcastically.
"It's normal to love someone, Kyuro. It's nothing to be embarrased about," he teased," And honestly, I think she'd suit you more than that Lex guy."
"What. Are your looses screwed on right? She's betrothed," I was annoyed of where the topic was heading.
Shia stared at the sky and said, "It's okay to fall in love when someone else is in love. It'll just, hurt a bit because their eyes aren't set on you. But, that doesn't mean you can't work your way up-"
I threw a towel on his face," Okay, enough! I'm not in love. Also, isn't that messed up? Work my way up? What is there to work up from? I'm not in love, Shia."
"Then, why do you always look at her?" he asked me.
"What? I have to watch her and make sure she's safe," I said.
"Uh-huh, and that means you can follow her everywhere and stare at her intensely?" he teases.
"Because I'm watching out for her!" I growled.
"You say that, but... Sometimes I catch you smiling at her. And you don't normally smile. Not in your angry 'I'm going to kill you' kind of smile. A genuine smile, like you're actually happy," he said," It's a little refreshing watching you two interact, to be honest."
"How?"I asked.
He laughed," Because whatever she says, she has you on your toes! Like when you waited for her outside the bath, I mean it was bad on your part, but she got mad at you and locked you in the bath house! Haha, I've never seen anyone who could take you down like that! Sure you barked at her, but you never took revenge on her like you usually would back home. You'd even knock my sister on the head for eating your food or fight all of the guards who dissed you, but you didn't do anything to Saiya when she would get mad at you. Are you.. lowkey, whipped?"
"Shia, if you don't want to be killed, then I advise you to shut your mouth right now," I grumbled.
"Did I hit it where it hurts?" he continued to tease," Ack!"
I kicked him in the side then carried him up and threw him in the pond.
"I-I'm sorry Kyuro! I was wrong! Help! I- I can't swim!" he yelled.
I laughed at him," It's not deep, Shia! Look at your face, haha!"
"Oh. Ha. Ha," Shia nervously stood up.
"I.. I don't really know if the reason why my blood boils when I see her face is because I like her, but ever since I saw her again, I've had these strong feelings burning in me. Whenever I see her or when I'm around her. It.. feels foreign. Kind of ominous and alluring. It's like I'm drunk. But.. I feel angry when I see her. I don't get it. I'm not familiar with these feelings. I.. kind of think it has something to do with my second contract," I said.
"Second contract?" Shia asked me.
"Yes... It's the contract I made with Tera in the other life," I said.
"You mean you met Tera in your other life?!" Shia asked.
"Yeah. He was stuck in a prison with me," I said.
"Wait, you were in prison? Why? Were you captured by Solsarians because you were an Amayan?" he asked.
"Something like that, yeah. I think the contract has some sort of 'conditions'. I'm not that well in depth about magic like you are, but my body feels different. I mean for one. I hate women. If you didn't know, I prefer men than women," I blushed.
"Right, I think you said something like that before. Huh, I do remember how you'd bully all the women and girls... You made a lot of girls cry. You'd straight out reject their confessions or glare at them or say rude things to them. But you were always respectful and nice to the men. And you had that huge crush on our teacher, Jensei, until he married. Welp. I wonder why you look like you're drooling when you're looking at Saiya then. Did you switch your tastes or something? ACK-CHOO!" he sneezed.
"No," I wiped his snot off my face," I still prefer men."
"Hmm... maybe you like women now?" he said.
"I doubt it. I still have the urge to kill that witch," I gritted my teeth.
"Well, that's because she's the type of person you don't get along with, but then again, you hardly get along with anyone. Everyone basically irritates you. I don't know why you're such a grouchy gloomy antisocial," he blew his nose into the towel hanging around my neck.
"Hey!" I yelled at him.
"Let's continue this conversation in doors please. I think I'll die of the cold this way," he said with a stuffy nose.
"I swear, that lizard witch has something to do with this. Tera seems the type who wouldn't hurt a fly let alone torture it and the witch seems more likely the tormenting type," I grumbled.
"Hmm.. she does seems a little perculiar. I do sense some sort of magic surrounding her. It's something I've never experienced before. Even the feeling of her looking at me chills me. But I don't think she's a bad person, Kyuro. Maybe you just need a social life. I mean right now isn't really a good time because of the war, but you should make friends," he said.
"But I have you," I bluntly said.
He sniffled and cried," Aww, Kyuro, you think of me as a friend? Really?"
"Of course, who else have I fought for and sworn to protect. If I were to be honest, I could have cared less about you in the past, but presently, I realize, you're an essential ally. Now quit crying already!" I roughly wiped his face with a cloth.
"Owowow! Okay! Ow! I get it! Ow!" Shia cried.
There was a knock on the door," Can I speak with you two?"
It was Saiya.
I opened the door and as soon as I saw her, my head felt fluffy and dizzy.
"What is it?" I asked her.
"Tomorrow, I'll be going with the other squad. I came to tell you that, I won't be joining you two," she said.
"You mean that you're 'going to be with that Lex guy, so don't bother coming.' That's what you mean, don't you?" my blood was boiling again.
"Y-yeah, that's right! So don't worry about me! Goodnight!" she said as she turned away.
I held onto her wrist," Don't tell me, are you still bitter that I found you? That you would have been happy if I hadn't interrupted your life?"
"What! I didn't say that!" she yelled at me.
"You didn't say it, but your eyes say that," I felt the heat burning within me, take control.
Why.
Why do I feel this way?
It's confusing yet straightforward.
These feelings of mine. They feel like chains pulling me towards her.
Why.
Why do you make me feel this way?
Before I knew it, my lips were placed on hers.
She pulled away and headbutt me.
"Let go!" she screamed and stomped away into the night.
"Shia... Why didn't you stop me?" I asked him.
"Um.. it was kinda sudden and um..because it was entertaining..?" he replied nervously," Ouch!"
I punched him.
"Well, I did see something interesting. I saw a faint spell mark glow around your wrists when you kissed her. I think your hunch might be correct. There must be some sort of spell in the contract. I'll research on it. As excited as I am for you to possibly start a chapter in your love life, I'm also concerned of the shit you might've dug yourself in."
Morning came and fog covered our trails as we headed to meet up with our allies.
