Chapter 12 - Teaching (2)

That night, before going to sleep, she started teaching him. First, by making him sit in a lotus position with his back straight, she helped him to concentrate on his breathing. Though she knew he was an amateur in meditation because of what he said, so she placed her palm on his back, to calm him, forcing a meditative state onto him. A quick way to make him get used to it.

After all, meditation could be taught to groups, but there were still people that couldn't understand without a more detailed explanation and needed one-on-one learning to flourish.

"Now do the LAM gesture," she said to him in a soothing tone, never taking her hand off his back. She used the name of the mantra as its real name, 'Muladhara' was quite a mouthful. She then directed a bit of her prana to the base of his spine, being careful to not directly touch any of his cores.

"Can you feel my energy?" When he nodded, she added, "This place is called the Root, your foundation. Here is where you ground yourself."

She then slowly moved her energy to his hips. "Do the VAM gesture. Good. Now, breathe. This place is called Sacral, your sexuality is here. No, don't blush. Concentrate. This is also where your creativity forms."

Moving her energy to two inches below his navel, she said, "Do the RAM gesture, now. Good, keep inhaling. This is your Solar Plexus, where your self-confidence forms. Your willpower is here."

When she was near his heart, she said, "Do the YAM gesture. Good, but don't forget to breathe between changes. This the Heart, here you call forth new possibilities. Your love is here."

She moded the energy to his throat, slowly, and said, "Do the HAM gesture. Concentrate on my voice. Good. This is your Throat, here you help clear the way for expression of your authentic self."

When her energy was in his forehead, she felt her own forehead pulsate as she said, "Do the AUM gesture. Yes, good. This is your Third Eye, always concentrate on it to tap into the wisdom and power of your intuition."

When her energy was on top of his head, she said with a smile, "Do the ANG gesture and concentrate well. Now, place your hand on top of your head because this is your Crown. This is the domain of universal consciousness, divinity, and transcendence."

She retraced her energy back to where it started. "Now, let's do it again, but this time you follow me with your own energy and repeat my actions, okay?"

When they were done doing it two more times, she nodded at him, finding his sweaty form amusing. "I would only help you with the first couple of times. Afterward, you must learn to do it yourself. I will only help you enter into a meditative stance as that's a bit harder for you to get used to."

He nodded, panting. "Why that made me tired? I didn't even move!"

"Yeah, sure, but this is the first time you've moved your energy around your body. That's exhausting."

"But why?"

She hummed as she sat next to him, having been kneeling behind him was hell on her knees. "Well, you use your energy every time you walk or move. This time you didn't move, which you aren't used to, but your energy did. Your brain still thinks you moved so it put your body to regulate your temperature by sweating, as it usually does."

He was still a bit confused but he seemed to have gotten the gist of it. She patted his back. "Okay, now go and clean yourself. We're going to sleep early because we're going to do this every day from now on, okay?" At his determined eyes, she smiled. "Now go and clean yourself. Be sure to wash your shirt, too. I'll dry it for you, don't worry."

Blushing, he avoided her gaze. "But I'm a boy. You can't watch me nude."

Alula gave him an incredulous look. "Kid, I told you to only wash your shirt, not to go around naked. Now, go quickly!"

Nodding shyly with apprehension clearly written on his face. he went to the river near. She proceeded to do her own exercises which consisted of more hand signs. Just, this time, it was based on the American sign language. Some people voiced their spells because it helped them to mold their energy, but she had gotten so used to mudras that she now preferred to use signs for her own spells. That made her spells more dynamic than others.

Of course, she never expulsed any magic, instead, she just practiced the way the magic flowed inside her body, without letting it affect the environment. It served as good practice.

After one hour of waiting, she was ready to stand up and search for Amycus when she heard steps coming towards her. Considering the slow and tentative sounds, she guessed it must be the kid. She turned around ready to scold him when she saw him.

The kid's skin was bruised, and purple mottled his body, but she could clearly see the definition of his muscles. They were lean and totally not what she expected of a kid his age. He was shyly covering half of his upper body with the baggy shirt, but she could still see his collarbone and arms.

Her lips trembled in an effort to not laugh at the cute sight. . "Kid, you're adorable."

He blushed even harder, the red going down to his chest. "Shut up! Now here, take the shirt and dry it... Please."

No way she was going to make it easier for him. She extended her arm. "Okay. Give it to me, then."

He choked on air, but in the end, he threw the shirt to her face and crouched near a bush as to not let his body be seen.

Her face was wet with cold water because of the shirt, but still...

Worth it.
