So far knowing Hunter, I was yet to see the badass 'bad boy' that everyone talked about.
Sure I'd seen the insatiable fuck boy, who I hated.
As time went by our friendship progressed we were spending a lot more time together, to which people seemed to notice.
There were a lot of stares, but so far no one had said anything to our faces on the fear that they'll piss Hunter off, that that doesn't mean that things weren't being said behind our backs.
We were currently sitting at an old wooden table outside in the cafeteria's courtyard, studying and soaking up the sun.
Well, I was.
Hunter was sitting, frowning at his phone, he had just ended a call and didn't look too happy about it.
"What's wrong-" I started saying but he was already pressing 'call' on a different number.
His conversation is short and sweet. "Playground. Tonight, get 'em ready, spread the word."
I look up from my textbook to see Hunter rolling his shoulders, seeming more visibly relaxed now, I quirked an eyebrow, "who was that?" I ask him.
I really wanted to know what 'The Playground' was, but decided he probably wouldn't appreciate the fact that I was eavesdropping, even though he was sitting less than a foot in front of me.
I was curious so when he answered with, "no one," I was thoroughly disappointed.
He must have noticed my face fall because he placed his large hand on top of mine, then he leaned in and whispered in my ear, for only be to hear sending a slight shiver through my body, "trust me."
I found myself nodding my head in agreement, but I couldn't seem to ignore the little voice in my mind that was saying if he trusted you, then wouldn't he have told you? In a taunting way.
After quietly studying for another ten minutes, with doubt eating at me, I discreetly text Callie under the table, sending out an SOS for her to call me.
In true Callie style, less than a minute later my phone starts playing Shakka's 'Man down' signalling her incoming call.
"Hey, sugar?" She questions.
I interrupt her before she could say anything what by saying, "OH MY GOODNESS! IM SO SORRY! I FORGOT! I'll be right there." Then hung up before she could question what I was doing and blow my cover.
I looked over at Hunter with an apologetic smile, already shoving my books into my bag, "I've gotta go," I explain standing.
Hunter looks confused, "I'll come with you." He says.
"No!" I clear my throat, is just, ah- It's a girl thing." I mumble my cheeks heating.
He looked like he wanted to argue, well he did until a little miss Blondie came over and practically perching herself in his lap. "Hey, Hunter," she lilted.
"Kay, Cupcake. I'll see you later," he threw distractedly.
With nothing left to say, I hooked my bag strap over my shoulder, walking off as fast as I could without causing a scene, kind of wishing he would stand up and stop me.

As soon as I was out of earshot I called Callie back asking her to meet me at the front gates while I went and got my car, she seemed to understand that this was important 'cause she didn't question me just told me she would see me soon.
We spent fifteen minutes aimlessly and silently driving around before either of us spoke.
Callie asked, "can we go to McDonald's?" I looked over and smile for the first time since getting in the car, nodding my head enthusiastically.
"I think that's the best idea I've heard today."
