Leaving the guild building Arcin set the map to lead her to the building where the battles against the elemental master occurred. She wasn't entirely sure if it still happened here in this town or if the current master would even know since the book was clearly old. Though it was unknown how old so all she could do was try her luck.
When she reached the destination according to the map she recognized the building from an earlier city excursion. It was the large coliseum that she felt was a little out of place. 'If this is where the battles are held I guess in a sense it not that weird… but it really doesn't match the city's overall ascetic.' Arcin thought holding Saisako in her arms. Arcin walked over to the sign and begun to read it.
[Earth elemental master. Challengers welcome.]
'Well, it's defiantly the place. It's also still earth type like when the book was written… interesting.'
'These little challenges would be kinda hard thinking about it. Though not everyone uses magic everyone has an element they are weak to due to their elemental affinity, meaning that they will take more damage from elements they are weak to. So fighting one elemental master might be easier than others. I on the other hand have no such setback or weakness. The only setback is self-brought.' Arcin thought before thinking about who she should use. In the end, choosing to use Saisako and Pyre if needed due to their type of advantage to the master. 'I have to eat them to ask if they know the location of the temple it is my best shot right now. Though that doesn't mean I can't have a little fun as long as I don't lose.' Arcin chuckled.
"Saisako make yourself appear to be a water - calamity element beast." Arcin whispered in her ear which Saisako replied with a huff doing it anyways despite her displeasure. With that Arcin walked into the coliseum to find there were sliding doors at the entrance. For a coliseum, it looked fairly modern inside.
"Can I help you?"
Arcin turned her attention from the scenery inside the building to the person at the counter. "My apologies I was a little surprised by the interior that I got a slight bit distracted." She said walking over to the counter with her business facade. "I'd actually like to challenge the mast here. Would that be possible?"
"Is this your first time challenging an elemental master?"
"Yes, it is."
"No worries. When you challenge a master you must go through a trial before gaining the right to fight against the master themselves. Here you go through a tourney-like battle with the top 4 overall gaining the right to challenge the master. Though normally low-level challenge this master we do split people up by level giving everyone a chance to face the master."
"Sounds pretty fair."
"Now in order to put you in the right bracket, I need to see your level status."
Arcin let the woman seen her status data before placing her in the bracket. The women then explained a few things about the tournament though Arcin knew the gist of it. By the time she arrived the tournament had already begun. It seemed to actually be a big thing in the city as she looked around and from what the clerk told her. After that the clerk has someone guide her to another room. This room was a place that she was able to wait and relax it wasn't super secure however so it was dangerous to leave something in this room since anyone really could access it.
But the room had access to the stands which would allow her to watch the fight that was going on currently. Not only was the room a rest area and had lockers inside but it had a monitor that informed the people of the tournament bracket. This gave her a chance to see what her placement was in the tournament.
Arcin crossed her arm as she looked at the screen. "Hmm, it's as the clerk said the tourney's long since started. The first bracket is almost finished I seemed to have joined just in time. Now where exactly am I in this bracket?" she muttered looking at the screen. "Aw, there I am. My fights the very last before the next round of fights. Hmmm a little bit of a disadvantage but I think I can manage. However I lack information, the best thing to do is hid information from my competitors while also gathering info on them. They don't carry information on participants however watching another person fight is allowed and going to other rooms is not prohibited." Arcin muttered shifting her feet slightly.
"Not only watching fights but I could also gather information for the regular spectators. They will know things about people that often come to the tourney, and also the master of this place too." Arcin hummed as she looked over at her two summons. "Alright, you two stick in this room and try to stay out of sight. I'm going to gather information on the people in the tourney." she said.
'There isn't a lot of time before my match but I should be able to watch at least one or two matches. So I'd at least be able to gauge the skill of at most 2 potential opponents.' Arcin thought. She looked down at her left wrist. "Sigh… at least in this coliseum, I don't need to shed blood. It defiantly makes a fight both harder yet also easy at the same time." she paused. "I have to pull my punches to make sure I don't accidentally kill someone, but there shouldn't be any worry about the chance of me dying." she sighed shaking her head.
Arcin placed Saisako on the ground and Pyre flew from her shoulder. "I'll be off now, be careful." she told them as she turned to the door. She fixed the hood on her head to ensure her face was more hidden from sight. With that, she left the room and made her way to the stands however as she made her way to the stairs she passed by someone the gave her bad vibes causing her to turn around to look at them more however they were already gone. With this she decided to just ignore it and continue on to her objective she could deal with whatever potential problem comes later.
