"Yes."
Alisse and Kurtz stanced themselves, gripping their weapons.
*swoosh*
Alisse charged towards him in a flash and slashed her sword. Kurtz evaded it and counter attacked, aiming at her right arm where she holds her sword.
"!" Alisse leaped back and charged again, this time, even faster.
"...!" Kurtz got caught off guard but he parried Alisse's attack.
*clang*
They clashed their sword a few more times, increasing their pace every second until Kurtz got tired.
"You're surprisingly skilled, keeping up with a bit of my power."
"You flatter me, miss." Kurtz leaped back and charged at Alisse, appearing behind her back in a flash.
"!!!" She managed to react on time and blocked his attack.
"Tch." Kurtz faked to struggle.
"You're good! I'm impressed! You still need a lot of work though." Alisse adviced Kurtz while clashing her swords with him, effortlessly parrying his attacks.
Clashing their swords a few mire times, Alisse asks Kurtz. "What did you learn from this fight?"
"I don't know."
"My, my, we've been doing this for quite a while and you still haven't learned anytthing? This is why your weak."
"I apolohize."
"It's alright, not everyone is born with talent and can only rely on hardwork, it wouldn't hurt to try working harder right? I'll support you." Alisse gave a supporting smile at Kurtz.
"Thank you. And, it's my defeat." Kurtz lowered his sword and panted.
"You managed to keep up with me, nice job."
"Thank you." Kurtz smiled at Alisse, scratching his head, embarrassed from receiving a compliment.
(I may be able to keep up with Alisse because she's not going all out. Plus, I'm not an athletic guy this time in my life. I should train myself more."
"Why are you wasting time on that guy? If he can't keep up eith us, let's leave him."
Seraphina interrupted the mood forming between them.
"I-I'm sorry."
"Hmph, how unsightly, get lost."
"Now, now Seraphina, that's not nice. How can we know that he's not suitable if we don't test him right?" Alisse tried to reason with Serapina.
"Oh! That's right, have a duel with me Kurtz. I'll judge wether or not you are suitable for our team."
"Eh? But shouldn't we ask Miss Yuuki first?"
"Shut up, insect. Who are you to tell me what to do. Just answer, are you agreeing with the duel?"
"Seraphina–" Alisse butted in but Seraphina interrupted her sentence.
"Quiet, Alisse. Kirtz, do you agree on the duel?" Seraphina's tone became slightly aggressive.
"Yes, I will agree on the duel.
"Good." Seraphina smirked.
"What will be the rules?"
"Looks like you've got courage. Alright, the rules are simple, if you managed to scratch me once, I might consider letting you in. Or if I see some potential within you, maybe we can talk it out with Yuuki."
"Yes."
"Good, let's start."
Kurtz changed into his sparring clothes and began warming up. While Seraphina is talking down to Kurtz she also did some warm ups herself.
"I'm ready."
(She also warmed herself up, either she knew about my strength or simply knowledgeable enough to not underestimate opponents. Either way, I should just play with her rules. While I also want to break her face, I'm not that petty.)
"Looks like you're ready. What weapon will you use?"
"A sword."
"Alright, let's start."

Five projectiles were launched at Kurtz while he avoided them and approaching her at the same time.

"Urk!" Kurtz managed to avoid the sharp wind but his flow of movements was disrupted. (Dammit, I'm still not fully used to my body. I should sync my memories to my muscle memories later.)

The floor was being engulfed in ice and Kurtz was struggling to approach Seraphina.

(How annoying, it's not that much of a hassle to approach her since I've learned how to ski back in my past life but still."
Kurtz used Seraphinas spell and slid his way to Seraphina.

Kurtz' legs started to numb due to low temperature and the ice is starting to bite his skin.

A barrage of flame and wind was launched to Kurtz with intense speed.

He stomped on the ground and propelled himself forward and charging at Seraphina in a flash.

Before Seraphina could finish hef chant, Kurtz slashed his sword at her right forearm.
"I win." Kurtz pointed his sword at Seraphina.
"Heh, looks like you've got some skills."
"Did I qualify?"
"Yeah, good work new guy."
