Chereads / Who Killed Madeline Hamilton / Chapter 2 - Finding Her

Chapter 2 - Finding Her

The sound of cars on the road woke the household up. The skies were blue and it greeted the Hamilton family with open arms. The white fluffy clouds walked along the sky at a slow pace and the sun sent it's gentle warm rays down to the earth. The birds sang outside and the sounds of dogs barking filled the air.

"Maddie! I'm really sorry, I really am. Maddie?" Reginald called and he opened his little sister's door. Only to see her hanging from a rope that was around her neck. Reginald stood in his place for a few minutes before he rushed forward and took Madeline's body down from the rope. He placed her on her bed and then looked around himself. He saw her phone and picked it up. He dialled for the emergency services.

"Hello, how can we help you?" a female voice asked from over the phone. Reginald made his voice deeper.

"I found a dead girl in her house. Come, quickly!" he told them before he put the phone down. He looked down at the girl and his eyes filled with tears.

"I'm sorry, Maddie. I really am." he whispered before he fled and never returned.

The police barged threw the door and went upstairs to see Madeline on her bed. Looking peaceful as though she was sleeping. One of the policemen came forward and checked for pulse. He looked to the others and shook his head.

"She's well and truly dead." he told them all. The police sighed and looked down at the black haired girl. Sad.

"Who is she?" one officer asked as the others searched the room. One found a diary that was locked and on the front in neat script was Madeline Hamilton's Diary.

"Hamilton. Madeline Hamilton." the man explained and they all nodded. Another policeman found a photo. He looked at it with a frown.

"I know these kids. Three of them have been causing a bit of trouble for the law recently. Freddie O'Connell, for vandalism. Reginald Hamilton for apparent rape. Margaret Friday for reporting someone raped her. And that is the girl that came along to the court case and got yelled at." the police officer told them all.

"Does that one have a name?" another officer asked tilting his to the side.

"Yes. Elizabeth Brookes."
