Horace and Arnia did not leave the police station so that they could accompany the baby until its parents arrive to fetch him. The baby woke up after some time and both of them started playing with him.
The silent police station in the early morning just after the sunrise was filled with the sounds of the baby's giggling and a young pair of a male and a female's laughter.
As they were having their fun, they heard the screeching of the tires from the outside and a few weeping noises. Everyone turned their heads towards the entrance to find a young couple running inside with their reddened faces as they were apparent to be crying for a long time.
Once the woman saw the baby in Horace's hands, she came running towards them and took the baby into her hands and placed an infinite number of kisses on his face while weeping.
When the baby saw his mother crying, he too started crying and the happy atmosphere turned into a weeping contest in an instant.
Yet no one stopped them or tried to console any of them because they know how terrified the mother would have felt until she got her baby back into her arms safely.
After a weeping session, there was another round of thanking sessions for Horace and Arnia as they couldn't express how grateful the parents were towards the duo for finding their baby and returning him.
In this world filled with unlimited evil and greed, how could one find such people who would help a kid on the streets without expecting anything in return?
The parents thus offered a sum of money as a thanks to both Horace and Arnia but the duo respectfully denied.
These words made the parents and also the policemen around to look at them with high regard.
After a few more words exchanged, the duo decided to take their leave and bade them farewell. Before they left, they had seen that the child was once again asleep and did not disturb him as they softly poked his cheeks once as a goodbye to him.
They do not know if they would ever see the kid again once they part ways today or not. Hence they softly touched his cheeks a couple more times while watching a few bubbles blowing at the corner of his lips.
Though the action was a little disgusting in general, the child was so cute that he looked more adorable even with this disgusting action.
Arnia poked the kid's forehead softly and lamented, "little kid, you really! You don't even want to say a goodbye to us and instead started enjoying while playing with your own bubbles? You need a few spanks."
With that she poked his forehead a few more times. Everyone understood that she was just joking as they could still see that her eyes were full of love towards the kid and her lips were curved upwards though the words that she spoke sounded rude.
Horace coughed a couple of times and tugged her sleeves softly, "I think it is better for us to leave now."
He is not a man good at words. He was worried that the parents or the police would just lock the woman up when they heard her words. After all, they sounded like she would punish a little kid.
It is already an offence punishing a kid. How could this woman speak about punishing a kid that was not even hers?
Hence he decided to make the woman leave as soon as possible to save her before she commits more 'crimes'.
After all, he was only one who knows that she was not just a 'lady' that everyone thinks of but she is similar to a gangster that can break anyone's head the next second if she wanted to.
Though the woman liked the kid, he still wanted to maintain a little distance between them for the sake of the kid's safety.
He then smiled and nodded at everyone once again as a greeting before pulling Arnia away from the police station though she started shouting to wait for a few more minutes or if she wanted to slow down.
He did not listen to any of her words and dragged her away as soon as possible until he was a little far away from the police station.
