After watching the small group of goblins march towards the city my phone was working away on figuring out the air quality. When the goblins got within 50 meters of the city arrows fell upon them killing all but two. Something was obviously wrong because those two goblins were desperate enough to keep charging the gates of the city which lead to another discovery on my part: fire and ice flooded the opening, the goblins and the corpses froze then were burnt to ash in an instant.
I sat there frozen for another 30 minutes to see if I could see another display of this city's prowess but nothing else dared charge headlong into the city like that. I walked back down the the Final Test and had just closed the door behind me when I heard creatures on the outside sniffing around. It was getting dark out and the night creatures had discovered my little metal coffin. Luckily there were many locks on the door so I could keep out anything but an master at lockpicking.
After another fifteen or so minutes my phone dinged and the A.I.'s voice spoke for the first time since I have arrived in this new location.
[Air quality: Fine
Oxygen level: Healthy
CO2 level: Healthy
Anomalies: One
Would you like to hear what I know of this anomaly?]
Would I like to know what the anomaly was? Of course I would like to know what it was so of course I agreed and I got a disappointing answer.
[Knowledge on anomaly: Low
Information on anomaly: Low
Lethality: Unknown but hypothesized to be harmless]
I was confused, I thought that the A.I. would know what it was but at least it was hypothesized to be harmless. Wait, "How do you have a hypothesis on it's lethality already?" I asked at the time.
[Considering that it has already amassed in User's body and the user is not dead and doesn't seem to be having any adverse effects, my hypothesis is that, so far, this anomaly is harmless although I cannot determine what it is with the technology that I have available to me at the moment.]
"Right, well next time that I decide to travel to a parallel universe instead of back in time I'll bring the whole lab with me," I scoffed at the A.I.
[Your sarcasm is unnecessary, although it is understood due to the stress the User should be facing at the current situation. Would you like me to play some calming music?]
I sighed then grunted, "No, save your battery. I doubt they have outlets in this world and I would like your help as long as possible." which the A.I. responded to in the affirmative. Just like how I needed my phone charged, I needed to get some rest as well so I had the A.I. wake me if something were to try to break in or in the morning, whichever would come first.
