Chapter 24 - THOMAS THOUGHT WHO WAS THE VISITOR IF THIS IS PAUL

"Boss, I hope you are not angry with us, but we knew your house guest was always visiting the pens.

And from what we observed it seems she was visiting one of the pens when we saw her.

At that time all we were thinking was to give her a message for you when you return to the house.

When she heard what was happening she went to check the cow."

"Tell me, Jason, so why didn't you call the vet?" Thomas inquired.

"Boss, when we called him, he was out and there was no word from him. Boss, your house guest has been visiting the pens every day for almost a month.

When she agreed to come we didn't hesitate or stop her, she is good with the animals.

Boss by her helping the cow last night, it proved to me she is knowledgeable of animals and loves them.

We are truly lucky, this feller is alive and looks at him, how big he is, and did you hear her calling him Jacob when she was blowing into his mouth.

Boss from the way she was crying when he wasn't responding to her. I knew she love animals a lot."

Thomas listens as they all speak of her saving the mother and young.

He knew they admired her, from the way they keep repeating what they observed from the different angles and positions they were standing.

Deep within his heart, Thomas was proud that his choice, love the same thing as he does.

Thomas check mother and young seeing that they we strong after the ordeal she went through during the delivery.

Hearing his watch beep seeing it was ten-o-clock, thinking that Christa will be home any time now.

She must be tired after a long night, but she still went to Church. Anxious to bring her to the pen to see how big the young was.

Entering the house thinking she must be home by now but Aliza's car was not in the driveway nether the yard as yet.

Hearing dad calls out to him saying as he enters into the house., "Thomas, you have a visitor."

Wonder who would visit this beautiful Sunday morning when all he wants, is to be in his wife's company.

He was so anxious to see her reaction as she opens the bag and sees the gifts he got her.

Slowly advancing, towards the gentleman, knowing immediately that he had never met him before.

Thinking he would have surely remembered him, he seems tall from the way he was sitting.

His nose had a slight twist and he was in his early thirties just like himself.

He was not too muscular from the impression he get from the fitted jersey he was wearing but he look a bit angry from the frown on his forehead.

Reaching out his hand to the strange, having the strangest, awkward feeling that churns the inside.

With his hand outstretch Thomas said, "Hello, I am Thomas Fortune." Seeing the way the gentleman stood up, Thomas knew immediately he was angry.

He did not have a smile or even a bit of pleasantness in his tone of voice. Thomas was shocked when he said. "So, you are the one who has stolen my Chris?"

'Is this her Paul her fiancé? So, who was the gentleman who visited the week after we got married?' "I am sorry, but I didn't catch your name," Thomas replies.

Hearing him saying in a hoggish tone, "The name is, Paul Jacob Bradshaw."

Thomas look at him from head to toe, thinking 'That's Jacob, the men said she keeps calling the young bull Jacob but why?'

"Please have a seat, I believe you are speaking of Christa."

"Yes, I am speaking about my Christa, I want to see her. Your father did not want to get her for me. So please don't waste my time."

Sensing his arrogance and his behavior was so unpleasant and not to Thomas liking.

Coming to his conclusion, Thomas thought, 'That could only mean he was hurting for his love for Christa and her rejection.' "I am sorry but Christa is not here."

"What do you mean she is not here, when I call Errol, this is the address he gives me?"

"I am sorry, what I meant to say is, she is not home at this immediate time. You should have known she doesn't miss her Sunday Service but there's no need to worry.

She shouldn't be much longer, will you have something to drink while you wait?"

"No thanks, all I need to know is why she changes her mind. When I received her letter last week saying."

Thomas sees him scratch his head then said, "Never mind, when I see her she will clear everything up."

Unable to imagine what he was thinking or how confused he looks. Thomas responds, "I know this might not help or be very comforting to your heart Sir.

But it might clear a bit of your confusion. You see our marriage is not her fault. I had no idea what to do when my sister was left at the altar.

At that moment to save our family name, I reach out to Christa who is my sister-friend.

She wanted so much to help her in her desperation. When I proposed to her, she accepted.

Because my sister was hurting, and being her chief bride maid, we got married instead of my sister.

She never meant to hurt you, I can assure you of that. It was a spur of the moment decision." 'If only he knew the reason for her accepting my proposal.

Thomas knew this was all his fault. This Paul looks as though he loves her a lot, to leave from where they are living to come all the way, here?'

"Do you have any idea how many plans we made? Now, everything I had planned is ruined.

No young lady is willing to attend to animals or take care of old people, Christa loved my parents.

And she understands how to manage them when they misbehaved."
